Chicago Bulls Appoints First Female Coach in NBA
CHICAGO–Oct 12, 2015 – The ChicagoBulls announcedthe hiringof LeAshaMoore their firstever
female coach,makingherthe firstfemale coachof the National Basketball Association. Moore isinher
fifthseasonasa memberof the ChicagoBullscoachingStaff. LeAshaMoore comeswithmuch
experience,andhasplanstoleadthe teamto many successful seasons.
Moore,31, is the 20th
headcoach in the ChicagoBulls history.AfterreceivingherdegreeinSports
Managementat the Universityof Toledo,Moore wentontowork as a teammanagerat the University
of Michigan,where she workedthere forfouryears. Moore acceptedherfirstjobas a coach for
undergraduate studentsatDuke University,she ledthe college basketball teamtoits fourth-highest
numberof winsinany NCAA men’sbasketball program.Moore laterwentonto coach at the University
of Cincinnati whereshe coachedasthe Bearcat’sassistantheadcoach, she helpedledthe teaminto
manyvictories,especiallytheirannual crosstownshootout game againstthe XavierMusketeers. While
workingat The Universityof Cincinnati she helpedthe teamachieveitsfirstundefeatedseasonherlast
yearof coaching. Underher coachingskillsMoore leadtwostudentstobe NBA’sfirstrounddraftpicks.
2. Moore has beenworkingwiththe ChicagoBullssinceshe acceptedthe positionasthe Special Teams
Coordinatorin2009. She workedcloselywiththe athletes,usingherpriorskill andknowledge tohelp
the team strategize on wins,endurance,andteamwork.

Moore wasborn and raisedinthe cityof Cincinnati,whereshe attendedHughesCenterHighschool,
duringherfour yearsat HughesCentershe playedbasketball onthe high-school’svarsitybasketball
team.She ledthe teamto three state championships, winningMACawards. Moore got a full ride toplay
at The Universityof Toledo,where she successfullymanagedherbasketball career,aftergraduationshe
receivednumerousofferstoplayinthe WNBA,aftermuch considerationdeclinedtopursue herdreams
as a headcoach. Moore is marriedwiththree children.
