I highly recommend Lauren Patrick for an elementary teaching position. I have had the pleasure
of working alongside Lauren as her assistant principal at Morganton Road Elementary School.
Lauren currently serves as a second grade teacher. She is very skilled in both the Daily Five and
CAFÉ Literacy structures. She has a deep understanding of a balanced literacy program and is
able to provide engaging, differentiated instruction in each area.
She is able to integrate instruction across the curriculum and makes learning relevant for her
students. Lauren encourages students to develop critical thinking skills while guiding them
through problem solving. Not only does she provide scaffolding for learning, she also sets high
expectations and holds students accountable for their own learning.
Lauren utilizes a variety of instructional methods and works diligently to meet the needs of each
student. She teaches students to work independently as well as in collaborative teams.
Classroom instruction also focuses on global awareness and 21st
century skills.
Lauren has wonderful relationships with her students, their families, and her colleagues. She is
loving yet firm with her students and encourages their independence. She maintains strong lines
of communication with families and partners with parents in the success of their child. Lauren is
also an integral part of the school community as she collaborates with grade level peers,
participates in professional learning communities, and works with the school improvement team.
Lauren Patrick would be an asset to any school. Her friendly demeanor, strong work ethic,
exceptional communication skills, leadership, and focus on students are all reasons why I would
