WHAT IS HOSPICE CARE?
Hospice care is a program of health services
designed to provide comfort and support to
patients and their families when a life-limiting
illness no longer responds to cure-oriented
treatment. Hospice care neither hastens nor
postpones death. Instead, we at Saint Verena
Hospice Care ensure the remaining life of the
patient is filled with peace, by focusing on
symptom management, social and spiritual
counselling, education, and recreational
activities.
THERE IS NO REASON TO WAIT
If you or a loved one is living with a
terminal illness, call Saint Verena Hospice

and FREE* support to you and your family
before the situation becomes overwhelming.
HOSPICE CARE:
FOR THE PATIENT & FAMILY
Saint Verena Hospice Care is sensitive to
the unique needs of each patient and family.
We consider the entire family, not just the
patient, to be the unit of care. With Saint
Verena Hospice Care’s guidance, patients and
their families will have the opportunity to
prepare for the end-of-life experiences with
grace.
Services are provided with privacy and
dignity in the patient’s home, be it a private
residence, a nursing home, or assisted living
facility. Saint Verena Hospice Care
coordinates delivery of necessary medical
equipment, supplies, and medications, and
organizes a team of professionals who
address the needs of patients and their
families on medical, physical, emotional and
spiritual levels.
*If a patient does not qualify for MediCare or MediCal, and is not covered by
a major insurance company, private pay options are available.
