Starting as a trader’s assistant, Larry Greenfield worked his way up within the
organization and became a partner at Opus Trading Fund, LLC, in Jericho, New York.
Outside of work, Larry Greenfield loves trying new restaurants, particularly steak,
seafood, and Italian cuisine. One of his favorite restaurants is Peter Luger Steak House
in Brooklyn, New York.
3. Peter Luger Steak House Receives Michelin
Star
The restaurant began in 1887 when Carl Luger’s Café, Billiards, and Bowling Alley
opened and became a neighborhood favorite. Peter Luger owned the business, and Carl,
his nephew, operated the kitchen. Several years after Peter Luger’s death in 1941, Carl
Luger's went up for auction in 1950. Sol Forman, a frequent customer who owned a
factory across the street, purchased the establishment and later changed the name to
Peter Luger Steak House.
4. Peter Luger Steak House Receives Michelin
Star
Since 1984, Peter Luger Steak House has been on Michelin Star's list of "New York's
Best Restaurants," most recently earning a 1-star rating in its 2017 guide. Michelin
awards from 0 to 3 stars for excellence in fine dining based on food quality, consistency,
and technique. In 2017, only 77 restaurants in New York City earned this prestigious
award.
