MUHAMMAD AS THE LAST PROPHET
TO THE MANKIND
Qur’an was revealed upon the Prophet Muhammad (Peace
be upon him and all Prophets) within 23 years, 1400 years
ago, and even one word had not been changed in it since
then.
“We revealed Qur’an and we will protect it”
(Qur’an 15:9)
The Last Brick
“Assume that you saw a very nice house and you walked in
and noticed that inside the house was well-decorated too.
But in this beautiful house there was a missing brick on the
wall. That house is God’s revelation of HIS religion through
all Prophets and I am the last brick that covers that hole in
that beautiful house.” By the Last Prophet Muhammad
We started with confirmation that Qur’an remained unchanged and the Prophet’s
Muhammad’s humble description of himself considering other Prophets. The rose is
the symbol of Prophet Muhammad that means love for all humanity as a last warner.
Throughout the history of Mankind, people always questioned themselves: “Where did
I come from and who am I? Where am I going? Today we face the same questions. We are
not so sure about what the future brings us. What comes out next? We need to find
something to make us feel secure and reach true happiness here and HEREAFTER.
Most of us are suffering from the troubles either our inner world or outer world, sometimes
both. But we pretend to be happy by involving daily life activities, and forgetting why we are
unhappy deep inside. We, people of this well-designed planet, are, in fact, desperate, sad
and hopeless while watching dying people at wars, starving people in the third-world
countries, homicides, all kind of abuses, drugs, atrocities and killing thousands of
people for religious (!) purposes or political ideas.
If we read through the world history, we faced troubles and killings whenever we were away
from our faith and holy books and prophets. Those who did not live their faith truly and did
not have any faith in their hearts had shed blood through the history: Because they ignored
the fact that they would have to account for all their misdeeds committed in the world since
they didn’t have any fear of the judgment day.
Thus, God kept delivering His messages thorough His prophets to lead his servants to the
right path. The prophets starting from Adam, Noah, Abraham (who is the forefather of
prophets) Jacob, Joseph, Solomon, David Moses Jesus Christ, and the last prophet,
Mohammad led their people to right path and warned them about the resurrection and
judgment day. The prophets strongly ordered their followers NOT to kill each other but love
one another, help poor people and be honest and straight in their lives. When People, in
the course of history, followed their prophets, they led a happy life, and when they ignored
and worse they did not believe in their prophets and challenged them, they, in fact,
challenged God who punished them severely at the end. We still have the remains of those
punishments like the one Pompeii in Italy.
As for the present time, there will be no punishments at all but we do have consequences;
we have been paying off being ignorant to God’s teachings by having so much pain on
earth and in our lives; world wars, Aids, massacres, drugs, bombings, ethnic cleansing etc.
So what is the solution to these harsh problems? I believe that each religion members,
Jews, Christians, Muslims and Buddhists should follow their holy books and their prophets
sincerely and closely. In that regard, as a believer in Jesus and Moses, I get curious why
Christians do not accept Muhammad as a prophet and Qur’an as a holy book.
I made a profound research about the prophet Muhammad and I found out that the prophet
Muhammad’s teachings are very much similar to Jesus’ or Moses’ teachings as if they
were coming the same divine source. May be they are! And surprisingly I found out that,
Muslims believe in all holy books and prophets like Jesus and Moses! I will let you decide
yourself about the Muhammad whether is a prophet or not through the following
presentation.
The Prophet Muhammad’s Life.
He was born in April 20th
of 571, almost 600 years later after Jesus! His mother’s name
was Amine and His father’s name was Abdullah who passed away before he was born.
His nursing mother, Halime, raised him. When he was at the age of 6, his mother passed
away too.
After 6 years old, his grandfather looked after him until he was 8. When his grandfather
passed away, his uncle Abu Talib took care of him.
He was married at the age of 25 with Blessed Hatice who was 40 years old; she noticed
the Prophet’s honesty and integrity in his personality at that time, and she asked him to
get married with herself. He had 6 children from Blessed Hatice: Abdullah, Zeynep, Kasim
Rukiye, Ummu Gulsum, and Fatima. All of his children passed away before the Prophet
Muhammad passed away except Blessed Fatima! He thus suffered a lot upon his loss of
his children mostly at early age. The Prophet Muhammad saw the angel, Gabriel, first time
when he was so sad about his people’s fleshly life style and stayed away from them by
going to a cave named Hira and praying in it! The Gabriel suddenly appeared in sky and
asked him to read and the Prophet replied,
“I am unable to read (This was repeated three times). Then the Gabriel repeated
‘read it with the name of God who is the creator that created the human out of a
zygote. Read! God has infinite blessings. HE is one who teaches with pencil.
God thought human being about the things he did not know!’ ”
Then the Prophet Muhammad repeated what Angel said to him. And Angel disappeared!
Indeed this is the first verse of Qur’an that was revealed upon the Prophet Muhammad;
so noticeable and miraculous that the first verse of Qur’an started with “READ” and it is
about human’s creation; in those times nothing was known about the phases of an unborn
baby in mother’s womb.
That is, revelation of Qur’an started with the first order to humans with “Read” to improve
themselves in Science and Wisdom! Read the universe and read yourself before
everything to know your creator. Qur’an is believed that it is the most important miracle of
the Prophet Muhammad.
Muhammad became the Prophet at the age of 40 in 610. He had to migrate to Medina
in 622 because of the oppression of unbelievers and their plot to kill him. He got married
with the daughter of Ebu Bekr, Aisa, in 624 upon his first wife Blessed Hatice passing way
in 620. The Prophet was at the age of 55 and the Blessed Aisa was 19 years old.
The Prophet passed away at the age of 63 in Medina in 632. He never spent his life on
worldly desires and ambitions. He lived a very poor life. When he passed away, even his
shield was pawned in a Jewish possession. He led a very humble life; when he was sitting
with his companies, it was hard to recognize him as a prophet because he was wearing
common clothes not the different ones and he was acting like a regular, ordinary person.
The prophet Muhammad had only one ambition that he wanted to MAKE all people
BELIEVE that there is God and judgment day and to live their lives according to that
judgment day in which they will have to account for each deed they commit in the world.
How were Makka and its people like before Islam? What kind of
society was the Prophet Muhammad sent upon?
As a last messenger from God, the Prophet Muhammad was sent upon the entire human
beings not only upon Arabic people; Qur’an declares it in the verse, “We sent you as a
blessing to the whole creatures”.
In Makka, before the birth of Prophet Muhammad, the Arab society believed in multiple Gods.
They had more than 360 gods/idols. They were ignorant of social values. They were nomadic
people who were dependent on cattle for their living.
There was no government or law. All power existed with the rich. The society was full
of barbarity and brutality. Tribes fought with each other over trivial matters for centuries.
A slight argument over horses or water would have lead to the slaughtering of thousands of
innocent people. They were burying their baby daughters alive since the men believed
that having a daughter was a shame for a man! Usury, oppression, slavery etc. were
common practices of the society before the Prophet Muhammad was sent upon it. But the
Prophet Muhammad through Islam changed these barbaric people into the ones who
became afraid to step on the ants crawling on the ground.
THE PROPHETS ARE TRUE MESSANGERS OF GOD
We will look into his life starting with the misjudgments or misconceptions about him.
Since all the Prophets were under God's divine protection to stay away committing any
sins, because they were sent upon humans to be a good role model to them, thus, they
did not act otherwise!
If the Prophets would live like us, human beings, committing sins, then they could not be
a Prophet; it will be contrary to the purpose they were sent upon earth as a good example
to lead the people to right path!
Shortly, Prophets are divine and holy people while they are having one foot on the earth;
the other foot is in the Heaven. This is true for all Prophets. They are humans like us but
at the same they are divine and holy as well so that they can accomplish their mission.
All Prophets told us about two divine truths:
1. There is God
2. There is a Judgment day
However, despite of prophets’ mission to save their people, slandering the Prophets
became a bad habit of humans through the history of religions. David, Moses, Jesus, and
Zachariah are some victims of those slandering. Unfortunately, the Prophet Muhammad
was the most being slandered one! He is also the most misunderstood and misinterpreted
one. All Prophets are pious, virtuous and well – divinely protected from committing anything
bad. The ones who slander them, indeed, dare to slander God. They have been
challenging God! The prophet Muhammed was
The Most Being Slandered Prophet, Muhammad
1. His marriage with the Blessed Aisa
Islam has got two sources:
1. Qur’an
2. The Prophet Muhammad sayings (Hadiths)
But some orientalists made up some hadiths out of these two sources that when he was
married with Blessed Aisa, Aisa was 9 years old (!) I searched very carefully for it, and
I found out that it is a very intentional slandering the Prophet Muhammad.
Blessed Aisa had an elder sister who was 10 years older than her, named Esma who had
lived until 100 years old. She passed away in 695. Esma was born then in 695 -100 = 595.
10 years later in 605 the Blessed Aisa was born. If we do the math, Prophet Muhammad
was 55 years old when he was married with the Blessed Aisa, in 624. So 624 – 605 (Birth
date of the Blessed Aisa)= she was 19 years old. The slanderers either got bad eyesight
and did not see the figure 1 on the left or they got an intentional slandering about him. So
we will go forget about bad eyesight since they are slanderers, and we will conclude that
this is an obvious slandering. Furthermore God ordered him to get married with the Blessed
Aisa to whom God will give a mission to tell Islam later on since she had a very rich
memory and keen and sharp mind. His marriage with Blessed Aisa was a Heaven-
assigned marriage. The blessed Aisa became the teacher of Islam who taught half of Islam
to other Muslim women. Briefly, The main reason to get married with Blessed Aisa was that
she was talented to memorize whatever heard through her very rich memory. She had
memorized 2210 hadiths, especially, the ones about the women issues.
2. Was Muhammad a war Prophet?
It is so interesting that the Prophet Muhammad had only seven battles with unbelievers
between 624 and 631, 7 years, out of his 63 years’ lifetime. All his battles were defensive
ones and to stop the unbelievers’ provoking attempts. The unbelievers attacked on them, and
he & his companions had to defend themselves; They never attacked on any country without
any reason. The wartime rules the Prophet Muhammad ordered to his companions were very
strict;
1. Never attack on women, children, old people and civilians.
2. Never attack on the Christians shelter in the churches or Jews in their
synagogues
3. Never kill any animals or flocks of any animals
4. Never burn the houses, hays, fields or trees or crops or anything like that.
5. Never kill anyone who does not fight with you!
6. Never torture the prisoners!
If we compare to Crusaders’ attitudes in the past and present time some Muslim extremists
who kill innocent people in the name of God to go to paradise, we will see clearly that the
Prophet Muhammad’s concept of Islam and humanity and today’s concept of Islam and
humanity is quite different. Let’s have a brief look into his battles.
The Battle of BADR
After the Prophet Muhammad established first Islam state in Medina, it was the first battle
against the unbelievers. It happened in 624. It took three hours. For all the battles, the
prophet Muhammed never wanted to fight and he always sent a peace messenger to stop
the battle. But the people of those time were born to fight and never easily quit on fighting.
The reason: The unbelievers looted the Muslims belongings and houses in Makka to get
revenge. Since Muslims left their all goods in Makka and migrated to Medina, they could
not defend their houses and belongings. Besides, the unbelievers were boycotting Muslims
economically in Medina. The Prophet Muhammad received some intelligence that one of
the richest trade caravans of the year, was travelling from Syria to Makka.
The goods contained in the caravan were the Muslims’ belongings taken by the Makkans.
The Prophet Muhammad and Muslims defeated the unbelievers in this battle. The
unbeliever prisoners of the battle were released on condition that they would teach 10
illiterate Muslims to read and write.
The Battle of UHUD
Battle of Uhud had happened in 625. The Battle of Uḥud was the second military encounter
between the Makkans and the Muslims, preceded by the Battle of Badr in 624, where a small
Muslim army had defeated a larger Makkans’ army. It took 5 hours.
Reason: Marching out from Makka towards Medina on March 11, 625 AD, the Makkans
wanted to avenge their losses at Badr and strike back at Muhammad and his followers.
The two armies fought on the slopes and plains of Mount “Uḥud.” Although Muslims were
about to end up in victory, something happened and Makkans won the battle because
Muslims’ archery team had left their assigned spot too early.
The Battle of the TRENCH in 627
Reason: Makkans (the unbelievers) sieged Medina where the Prophet Muhammad and
his companions resided in. The Prophet Mohamed and his friends dug a trench around
Medina to defend themselves. The unbelievers’ army was estimated around 10,000 men
with six hundred horses and some camels, while the Medina defenders numbered 3,000.
The unbelievers were defeated since they could not ride/jump over the trench, and their
siege was finished after 30 days when there was a very sudden strong desert storm that
caused the unbelievers to retreat and lose the battle.
Hudeybiye TRUCE in 628
The Prophet Muhammad made a truce with unbelievers that Muslims and the unbelievers
would not fight for 10 years, and the Muslims were given the right to have their pilgrimage
in Makka. This is an important truce for Muslims since there was no war and they were able
to deliver the message of Islam without any obstacle of swords of unbelievers, but with the
words only to other tribes. Through his companions’ telling about Islam to the unbelievers
during this truce, many people converted to Islam. The terms of truce were against Muslims
but the Prophet Muhammad preferred the truce.
The Battle of Hayber in 628
Reason: Hayber was a fort-city where Jewish people lived in. The Jewish people who left
Madina made a Jewish community there. But they were provoking the other Arabian tribes
against Muslims to unite and army against Muslims, and they were blocking the trading path
of Muslims to Damascus. Then the Prophet attacked on Hayber, and after 30 days, the city of
Hayber was conquered.
The Jewish people were told to leave the city with their belongings. While they were about
to leave, they made an offer to the Prophet Muhammad that they still could stay in Hayber
on condition that they would give half of the crops to Madina. The Prophet Muhammad
accepted their offer and Jewish people stayed In Hayber, and every year the whole crops
were halved into two, and the Prophet Muhammad allowed Jews to choose any half
they liked.
Though having provoked other Arabic tribes against Muslims or blocked the trading way of
Muslims, Jews admired the Prophet Muhammad’s forgiving, understanding and generous
way toward themselves. However later on a Jewish woman wanted to murder the Prophet
Muhammad with a very strong poison that spread on a fried goat meat, but as a miracle,
the meat talked to him that it was poisoned and the Prophet Muhammad was saved. The
Jewish woman defended herself she wanted to test the Prophet Muhammad whether he
is a true Prophet or not on condition that he would be saved by God or not?
Battle of MUTE in 629
Reason: A Muslim messenger was killed by Roman soldiers; The Roman soldiers attacked
on a group of Muslim soldiers as well. Then Roman army and Muslims army battled with each
other. The Muslims won the battle. The roman army was outnumbered to Muslims; however
with the help God, Muslims defeated the Romans. It was said that it was a very harsh battle.
Conquest of Makka Date: 630
Reason: The unbelievers broke the truce by attacking on Muslims. Then, the Prophet
Muhammad conquered Makka with 10 thousand Muslims without any battle; He cleaned
the 360 idols out of Kabe, a square Holy house that is believed to build up by Adam first,
and later it was rebuilt by the Prophet Abraham and Ishmael. Today Muslims commit their
pilgrimage by going to Makka as well after they visit the Prophet’s tomb in Medina.
Battle of HUNEYN in 630
Reason: Some Arabic tribes wanted to attack on Muslims after the conquest of Makka.
The Muslims won the battle.
The Army Expedition of Tebuk in 631
Reason: The Roman King Heraclius wanted to stop the spread of Islam so he gathered a
huge army of 40 thousand soldiers. However, the Heraclius retreated since he was scared.
No battles happened.
Conclusion: The Prophet Muhammad is a prophet of Mercy and Compassion indeed.
He never started any war on his own. The idolaters were always the ones that triggered it.
These are all the battles of the prophet Muhammad. When I watched a movie about the
Prophet Muhammad first I just got the idea that this prophet is a war prophet since most
of movie scenes were about battles and. The movie was not reflecting whole truth.
As we see in the battles we read, misjudgments and misconceptions about the Prophet
Muhammad considering him as a war Prophet is wrong; Let’s take a look at brief facts.
* His prophethood lasted 7999 days. 40 - 63 years old, he preached Islam as a prophet.
* Out of 7997 days, 392 days (including no battles, sieges, etc) took in prophet
Muhammed’s life including taking care of the slaves, the raveling time back and forth
on horses or camels in desert which might have taken for weeks.
* Within this 393 days, from Muslim side, total 296 people were killed and from the
unbeliever’s side 997 people were killed ( 700 of this figure were the ones who were killed
during siege of Beni Kanuka Tribe siege wich was a harsh Battle that took 15 days in total
and beni kaynuka did not want to surrender; It was a vicious tribe who back-stabbed
Muslim during a war and made a lot provocations against Islam. If we compare other
battles in history, these figures will be so less.
DID YOU KNOW THAT?
* This fact is a BIG slap on the faces of those who kill innocent people on TV alive
footages in the disguise of Islam;
The prophet Muhammed who carried a sword even in a battle time DID NOT
KILL ANY ENEMY OF HIS. He used his sword to defend himself only. He did not kill
anyone in his life.
Prophet Muhammed attitudes during battles were so full of peace seeking ones; He put
the strict orders NOT to kill any civilians, kids women, old or the ones in Churches.) He
was merciful, kind, thoughtful compassionate, understanding and accepting. He even
forgave the slave Vahsi who killed his uncle Hamza but converted to Islam later on.
He always asked his companions to invite their enemies before fighting. He treated his
enemies like he was trying to drag them out of the path that was leading to the hell.
Prophet Muhammad was conquering the hearts by his honesty and divine personality.
The time of the Prophet Muhammad was a similar to the time of Jesus who challenged
the corrupted system of his people who wanted to kill him as well. It was the same for
Prophet Muhammad. All these divine orders disturbed the unbelievers and felt threatened
that their money-making system would be gone with Qur’an teachings; that is why they
wanted to kill the Prophet Muhammad and his companions as well. Prophet Muhammad
unfortunately is told in a completely opposite way in today’s media as if he were a war
prophet. He had only seven defensive battles in his life, from 624 to 631.
3. His Marriages
I have no idea why the Prophet Muhammad has been picked on his marriages. When we
looked into the lives of other Prophets, except Jesus or Johannes, they all got married and
some of them had more than one wife; the Prophet Solomon and David are good examples.
Besides, the Prophet Muhammad’s second marriage happened when he was 51 years
old with Blessed Sevde who was 55 years old and was a widow. The Prophet Muhammad
had a protection marriage with her. He needed someone to look after his children too after
Blessed Hatice passed away. The other marriages happened with the ladies from different
tribes aiming to spread Islam or make peace between tribes after he was 55 years old, 624,
till he passed away in 632.
The prophet did not make any big move without being revealed. For example, When the
hard times peaked, Allah revealed a verse “Hoping that Allah might build a bridge of
love and relationship between you and your enemies.”
Upon this verse, the prophet Muhammad got married with the daughter of Ebu Sufyan who
was the head of Mekke and head of idolaters, who hated the prophet Muhammad so much;
but after this marriage, he visited his daughter in Medina very often and saw the beauty of
Islam close by caused his heart to be soften against Islam. Then his daughter’s marriage
became a reason for Ebu Sufyan to convert to Islam.
All his wives also served Islam as a teacher by telling about the topics related to women in
their tribes and making Islam understand clearly.
His wives were widow with their kids and above 50 years old and they later worked as a
teacher at the first university of Islam.
The problem is that we live in a very lustful world that our worldly concepts are very far
away from divine concepts or GOD-sent Prophets’ conceptions! When the point of view
is very narrow and worldly not the divine one, then, the very untrue and unfounded claims
and assumptions are made by slandering which is one of the big sins in all holy books.
In fact, Polygamy started in Christianity first in history and it did not begin with Muslims.
However, since Islam is manipulated badly no matter what ever it says, orders, or it had
been interpreted in a wrong way on purpose.
L4. The Prophet Muhammad wrote Qur’an?
This is another big slandering Prophet Muhammad! God would not allow His Prophet to be
literate since God knew that the people would slander him like he wrote Qur’an! I read the
Qur’an and it has many scientific facts in verses that they could not be known at that time.
The verses about HOLY Mary are amazing; Qur’an describes it as if it is a broadcast from
the divine TV.
The Prophet Muhammad as an illiterate person cannot figure out all the life stories of other
Prophets that vivid even if he were able to read Bible and Old Testament. Another illogical
slandering claims that stories of other Prophets in Qur’an do exist in Bible, and the stories
that do not exist in Bible but it exists in Qur’an are just made up by Prophet Muhammad(!)
If anyone objectively reads Qur’an, he will notice that the eloquence, scientific
information, wisdom, literature and knowledge of earth and heaven and their
correlation, the events of the past, the present and future presented in Qur’an
obviously proves that it is a Word of GOD!
Even his However enemies called him as the most trustable one and reliable one; they
know that the prophet Muhammad never told lies in his life before revelation of
Qur’an. They would not believe in his call in a stubborn way that he is the Prophet and
Qur’an is true message of GOD.
Shortly, the slanderers that slander the Prophet Muhammad are surely unaware that Sun
cannot be hidden by mud/mud-slinging nor is the truth that the Prophet Muhammad is the
messenger of God. The problem is that today, we turn into kind of people who believe what
we watch on TV or read on papers! We never search for the truth.
5. Jihad is killing an innocent person and going to paradise?
This is another misconception of Islam that Muslims are full of rage, hatred, anger and
aggression. It is ironic that a religion based on peace is known today as a religion of
hatred and rage thanks to Media coverage!
I am sure the most slandering one about Islam is that if a Muslim who explodes a bomb
and kills the innocent people, will go to paradise? This is totally against Qur’an teachings,
and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad;
First the guy kills himself which is enough sinful act to go to hell without mentioning killing
innocent people along with himself according to the teachings of Islam. No justification is
accepted in Islam to kill innocent people.
Qur’an says:
31.He said, “Woe to me! I was unable to be like this raven, and bury my brother's
corpse.” So he became full of regrets. (Cain and Abel)
32. Because of that We ordained for the Children of Israel: that whoever kills a
person unless it is for murder or corruption on earth—it is as if he killed the whole
mankind: whole of mankind; and whoever saves it, it is as if he saved the whole of
mankind. Our messengers came to them with clarifications, but even after that,
many of them continue to commit.” (Qur’an 5: 32)
Some so called smart guys interpreted the two verses above as “ No, the verse refers
to Christians or Jews.” Good catch! So verses in Qur’an are ordering Christians in
Christianity not the Muslims in Islam? Well, that does not make sense, does that?
Indeed the previous verses start with story of the sons of the Prophet Adam, Cain and
Abel. Cain killed his innocent brother Abel because of his jealousy. Following the verse,
God reminds Muslims that the children of Israel did not listen to HIS order and continued
to commit sins and even killing their Prophets, and therefore God orders clearly to
Muslims that do not kill an innocent person; Listen to my order! Do not disobey me the
same way the Children of Israel did it.
The Prophet Muhammad defines the jihad as follows; Once the Prophet Muhammad and
his companions were returning from a battle with his companies; He said,
“Now we are done with small jihad and now we will have a big jihad which is your
struggle against your inner-self and its temptations of fleshly desires.”
While Islam secures even animals’ lives, it would be quite opposite to kill innocent people
in the name of God! “Inner struggle” is much more important than anything in Islam since
if one cannot overcome his inner-self’ temptations, he cannot set a good example of Islam.
I agree that we can’t correct others if we don’t correct ourselves first!
That is, “True Islam” and teachings of Qur’an and the Prophet Muhammad are opposite to
Islam we watch on TV today! When we look into the Prophet Muhammad’s character traits,
we will see that how badly we are misled by media and the attitudes of those extreme
Muslims! What we watch on TV, all cruel and lunatic killings are just a puppet show
to make Islam look badly in the eyes of world people.
However, in the light of the teachings said above, how come a religion even it starts with
“peace be upon you” greeting turned bad? Because of some uneducated Muslims who
are unaware of true Islam since they have been following some misguided mentors who
keeps brainwashing them against the teachings of the Qur’an and Prophet Muhammad
through their misinterpretations, and they eventually turn into extremists who have been
killing the innocent people in the name of Jihad. And thanks to our global misleading
media that distorts the reality about true Islam. This kind of brain-washing influences
people at all ages; An anecdote; A Muslim friend of mine who is from Turkey, teaches
English at an international school as a sub. (Turkish Muslims have no beard in general
and they wear western style and mostly look like Westerners). My friend is almost done
the day; And there is a conversation going on with his Primary1 student from USA.
Student: Mr E, where are you from?
Mr E : I am from turkey.
Student: Are you Muslim?
Mr E : Yes I am!
Student: Oh My Gosh!
This is a very clear proof that where world people stand and how badly they have bias
against Islam; even a little girl’s mind is brainwashed by her environment and overheard
news.
If I keep watching TV I would have been misguided as well about Islam and Muslims
who are broadcasted on channels while shouting and killing innocent people.
Jihad is the most misunderstood concept by Muslims and non-Muslims! How a
divine religion claims killing innocent people is jihad? Islam secures Muslims and
non-Muslims’ lives as a first priority for sure.
Prophet Muhammad’s war orders are clear that civilians and animals are supposed to be
secure during the battle.
Shortly, Islam has nothing to do with killing innocent people and going to paradise.
6. Did Prophet Muhammad spread Islam by sword or by word?
The Prophet Muhammad was completely following a very peaceful way to tell about Islam:
God in Qur’an says, “O my Prophet, invite humans to Islam by the best preaching,
the best proofs and wisdom and treat them with good and kind words.”
If we consider the attitudes of people at that time, they would grab their swords
right away if they saw something challenging. Fighting with swords NOT WITH
WORDS to survive was a life style in those times.
Nobody would defend himself by words if he is attacked by swords. The idolaters with
hatred and rage in their hearts and swords in their hands were charging toward the
prophet Muhammad and his companions, and what could one expect the prophet to
do in this situation?
“Hold on, please? Can we talk? Nope! Right! That does not make sense!
That’s why the Prophet Muhammad had to defend himself.”
Indeed the prophet Muhammad sent on around 90 thousand companions over the world
to spread Islam: While he was making his last speech in Macca, a year ago he passed
away, the number of his companions was 100 thousand. And today in the grave yards
of Macca and Medina, the total number of the buried Muslims is around 10 thousand.
So, 90 thousand companions of him died in the different places all over the world while
doing their missions to spread Islam. Ninety thousand companions of Him spread
Islam in the countries they were sent by setting a good example and did it with
words not with swords; that is, they addressed the hearts of people with their good
attitudes and kind personalities.
Conclusion: The Prophet Muhammad’s understanding of Islam and his respect, peaceful
mind and heart can’t be compared with today’s Islam like killing innocent Christians and
humans; Killing innocent people has got nothing to do with Islam!
The ones who commit killing innocent people are not entitled to enter the paradise either!
I checked the web pages whether any Islamic clerks or preachers have very close ideas
with the Prophet Muhammad! There is a Turkish preacher named as Fethullah Gulen who
has been currently living in the USA! His ideas are very impressive: He says,
“If anyone so called a Muslim consciously kills an innocent person, he will go to
hell directly.”
He also defines the terrorism in the best way: Terrorism has no country, no religion and
no race; A terrorist can’t be a Muslim and a Muslim can’t be a terrorist. I also found
that Turkish Islam is very close to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad especially regarding
his tolerance and dialogues between religions.
Turkey as a Muslim country is the only one that has Jewish citizens and Christian citizens
living in Turkey (around 30 thousand totally) for a long time in peace without any fear or
threat; They have also freedom to pray in their own religions.
The Prophet Muhammad’s Character Traits
1.The Prophets’ compassionate, Universal understanding & Accepting and
honesty, modesty toward humanity .
He warned his Companions: "When I come upon you, don't stand up as the Persians
do for their elders!
Another occasion, the Prophet Muhammad visited a Jewish child who got sick
because of losing his bird.
Blessed Aisha tells about his poor life conditions: “The Apostle of God had never eaten
to satiation through his life. He was in financial difficulties. He did not have three
meals in a day. Sometimes we didn’t have any food but dates and water for months”
The Blessed Prophet was resting on a piece of straw mat.
The Prophet was the head of the state; If he wanted to have food, he would have it easily
because he was holding state’s goods and food. But he always chose to live like a regular
human being not like a king, and he would not touch the state treasury as a good model
of believer. He never abused his position neither divinely nor worldly.
Once some Christian people came to visit the Prophet Muhammad to have
some information about Islam. And after a while, it was praying time for
Christians, and Christians asked whether they could pray in his mosque or not?
The Prophet Muhammad, without hesitation, allowed Christian people to pray in
his mosque! How many Muslims would allow Christians to pray in their
mosques today?
CAN THERE BE A SLAVE BETTER THAN ME?
The Prophet was having food with his friends sitting on the ground outside. A woman
found it very strange and said, “Look at him! He is sitting on the ground and eating
like a slave.” The Prophet Muhammad smiled and answered:
“Can there be a better slave than me? I am a slave of GOD.”
DOING WORK FOR OTHERS
Once the Prophet sent one of his companions to a place for a mission. But the Prophet
himself did the chores for his companion until he returned. The Prophet Muhammad
covered the work like milking the cows and goats for his companion he sent for a duty.
HELPING HAND FOR EVERYONE
A mentally retarded woman entered the mosque and said: “O Muhammad come and
do my housework.” The Prophet Muhammad smiled but answered with a serious voice
tone: “Let’ s go from whichever way you want.” He helped the old lady willingly.
RELAX! I AM NOT A KING.
A newly convert Muslim, Arab migrant who saw the apostle of GOD for the first time was
trembling because of his excitement. The Prophet Muhammad said: “Relax! Calm down
I am no king but the son of a woman who used to eat dried bread.”
DO NOT FORGET ME IN YOUR PRAYER!
He asked one of his companions to pray for him. His companion was going to Makka
for a pilgrimage. “ Dear brother! Do not forget me in your prayers.”
WHEN I WAS A SHEPHERD
A few friends of the Prophet went to him with thorny fruits that belonged to a tree called
arak. Unripe fruits attracted the attention of the Apostle of God and he commented on:
“Pick up the fruits of this tree after they get dark and ripen completely. When I
was a shepherd, I used to pick them up and eat.”
TELL THE TRUTH.
Once he covered an old lady’s eyes and said’ Old women cannot enter the paradise.
When he saw that the old lady was so sad, he just explained: “because all the people
will be 33 years old in paradise. Then the old lady was happy. He just wanted to say,
“Even when you make a joke, do not lie!”
“If it is necessary to say something, tell the truth.”
“A real believer is the one from whom others feel secure his tongue and hand.”
It means a real believer will not harm others by gossiping or slandering them.
HELPING AT HOME
His wife Aisa says: “He was happy to do his work himself. Though his friends were ready
to do his works, he did not want them to do them. While at home, he mended his clothes,
swept the house, milked the goats, tethered camels and fed them. Moreover, He repaired
his shoes and leaking water skins, helped the servants and kneaded dough with them.
He carried the food from the market himself, and when someone said, “O, Apostle of God!
Let me carry them.”
He replied; “Every believer should carry his own load himself if he can.”
HE WAS A JEW BUT AFTER ALL A HUMAN
He was sitting with His friends in an open place in Medina. A funeral was passing by them.
It was obvious in every respect, that the funeral was a Jewish. The Prophet Muhammad
stood up and waited until the funeral passed by. His friends were confused and warned him
by thinking “Maybe he was not aware of the situation”: “O Apostle of GOD! This was a Jew.”
He replied: “But at the same time he was a human.”
FORGIVING
When he went to the city of Taif many in order to spread his religion and to get help, he
was faced by stoning and spitting. He raised His hands and prayed:
“O God! Forgive them. They do not know (that I am a Prophet!)
Later he prayed for the people of Taif who could become Muslim and his prayer was
accepted by God and the people of Taif converted to Islam later on. He was forgiving.
HAVING MERCY ON THE MAGICIAN
An unbeliever who was cast a spell on him. The apostle of God was affected by it. Later
on, he was saved from it by God’s blessing. And he had learnt the name of this evildoer.
However, no one disturbed him. No one said anything to him. The unbeliever was forgiven.
`
EVERYBODY DOES WHAT SUITS HIM
Once the Prophet was taking a rest under a tree. An unbeliever had wanted to kill him
and tiptoed toward him quietly. He took the Prophet’s Muhammad’s sword, which was on a
branch of the tree, and touched the throat of the Prophet, who was sleeping, with his sword
Touched by the cold metal, the Prophet Muhammad opened his eyes and saw unbeliever
grinning at him arrogantly who was sure about his victory and asked the Prophet arrogantly,
“O Muhammad! Who will save you from me now?”
The Prophet answered his question with a divine confidence by shouting: "GOD!.."
Upon the sudden fear of the exclamation “GOD”, the unbeliever fell down on his back and
his sword fell off. Then, the Prophet Muhammad stood up suddenly and grabbed his sword.
He touched his throat with the sword. Now it was just the opposite. The Prophet asked him
smilingly and calmly, “Who will save you from me now?”
The unbeliever said, “O Muhammad! There are two people here; One is good! One is
bad. I am the bad one. You are the good one. You choose the good one! Let
everybody do what suits him.”
The Prophet said, “You are free; you can go now!”
RACISIM HAS NO PLACE IN ISLAM AND PROPHET’S WARNING ABOUT IT.
Once one of his companions wanted to sit next to a black Muslim. But black Muslim for
some reasons he did not give him some space to sit. Then the companion insulted the
black Muslim as “Oh the son of Black woman.” The Prophet Muhammad heard it and
asked that companion. What are you seeing there?
His companion replied, “ Black, red, and white people!” Then the Prophet said,
“You couldn’t make people superior to each other by discriminating them like he is white
or black. Believers are pious according to their piety and devotion to their religion.”
“God does not look at your faces or your goods! God looks into your hearts and
your deeds that you commit.”
And a verse from Qur’an says what the Prophet Muhammad interpretes:
“ O People, as truth stands out, we created you as a male and female and then
we divided you into tribes so that you can meet each other.”
“The most pious in the presence of God is the one who fears of God most.
No doubt that God knows everything and becomes aware of everything.”
THE SOUND OF A CRYING A CHILD
Once he was praying with his companions and he finished his prayer very early and fast!
And his companions asked the reason and he said,
“I heard the voice of a crying child. I was worried that his parents would be worried?”
Once the Prophet Muhammad was playing with his grandkids, putting them on his shoulder.
One of his companions did not understand why a Prophet was showing his compassionate
on his grandchildren since he was a prophet and should keep distance. He replied,
‘If God took mercy from your heart what can I do? God has mercy & compassionate
on those who have mercy and compassion on others.
He played with his grand children at times. He was taking two grandchildren on his
shoulders, right and left one. He has no pride that he is Being prophet would not prevent
him from being humble. He addressed to everyone according to his/her level.
HAVING MERCY ON THE ENEMY
A tribe chief named Hamama, who was met all the needs of grain of Makka became a
Muslim. And he stopped selling grain to Makkans. The Makkan Pagans, who faced the
danger of famine, got in contact with Hamama at first. However, the answer was negative.
Upon this, as a last resort, they sent a delegate to the Prophet Muhammad. They said,
“If we cannot get help from you, we will starve to death.”
He did not even think of the fact that Makkans had not given him and all Muslims a single
grain of wheat for three years. He did not think of the fact that, along with His Muslim
friends, they had been forced to migrate and had not been given the right of living in their
native land just for saying, “Our Lord is God”. He did not even consider that there had
been several attempts for killing him. He chose to forget what they did, and commanded
Hamama to sell them grain. After that, Makka had its grain again.
After the prophet Muhammed conquered Macca, he freed all the Idolaters; He did not even
let any of his companies hurt any idolaters. His Mercy is indeed a reflection of God’s Mercy.
He was considering even the prides of idolaters NOT to be hurt.
DO NOT LET HIM TORTURE HIMSELF
He saw an old man who was going on foot to the Kabe with his two sons, who were riding
camels. He asked the reason. He found out that his behavior was due to a vow he had
taken. However, the old man was walking with difficulty. He sent him a message,
“God is not in need of this person’s torturing of himself. Tell him to ride on a camel.”
ZEYNEP'S MURDERER
Habir was the murderer of the Prophet Muhammad’s daughter Zeynep. While Zeynep
was emigrating from Makka to Medina to join her father, she was surrounded by a group
of idolaters, among whom Habir was present and caused Blessed Zeynep to fall from her
camel with his spear. Zeynep, who was pregnant, had a miscarriage, and later, died
because of this. When Makka was conquered, the Prophet of God sent a message to
Habir, who had hidden and prepared to flee to Iran fearing that her revenge would be taken.
The Prophet granted him life safety. When Habir came to his presence. He accepted
his loyalty oath and forgave him.
UHUD, THE PEAK OF COMPASSION
Uhud was the second greatest test of Islam in the battlefield. Uhud, which resulted in a
defeat in terms of tactics, is a place where the Prophet Muhammad and all Muslims suffered
a lot. The Prophet Muhammad suffered some great pains like the martyrdom of tens of his
friends, the scattering of his army as well as some less severe pains like receiving seventy
sword blows, breaking of one of his teeth, having a rip in his cheek and pieces of iron stuck
into his gum.

During the hardest moments when all of those pains were experienced, he opened his
hands toward the sky and prayed for the Makkan unbelievers that caused all of those
troubles but he did not curse them:
“O God! Forgive my people because they do not know ...”
He could have cursed upon his enemies but he did not.
2.The prophet’s love for others as a father, Grandfather .
. through his kind heart
NICE RIDERS
Another day, as the Prophet Muhammad was playing "riding on camel” game with Hasan
and Huseyin, his grandchildren, on his back, they met a company of the Prophet, Omer
who said to the children:
"You have such a nice horse". Prophet Muhammad answered:
“They are also nice riders."
ME YOUR FATHER AND AISHA YOUR MOTHER
On one morning of a religious festival, he was returning home from the mosque. In the
street, he saw children playing in their festival clothes. However, one child attracted his
attention. He was sitting aside with dirty and old clothes on him and watching the others.
The Prophet Muhammad came close to him and ask,
"My son" He said: "why do you not join your friends?"
The child answered in sadness... "O Apostle of God I am an orphan..."
For the Prophet Muhammad, this was enough... He took the child by the hand, and brought
him to His home. There, the orphan was washed; new clothes were dressed; he was fed
and some money was put in his pocket; he was happy. Then, the Prophet Muhammad took
his face into His hands and asked,
“Would you like me to be your father, Aisha your mother and Hasan and Huseyin
your brothers?”
“Yes, O Apostle of God, yes”..
The happy child rushed and joined the others. Wondering this rapid change, his friends
asked: “What happened to you?” The orphan answered:
“The Apostle of God became my father and Aisha my mother and Hasan and Huseyin
my brothers”
Enes, his helper tells about the Prophet
“I joined Him in a young age and had been in His service for completely ten years. He never
cursed me even once; He never hit me even once. He never got angry with me or blamed
me for a mistake of mine or a duty I neglected or did not perform! He never said, ‘Why did
you do this?’ or ‘Why did you not to do that?’ He never grimaced his face."
DADDY, DADDY
Before Islam, killing daughters was a common custom among Arabs. It was one of the
social practices that Islam severely prohibited at once. A friend of the Prophet narrated how
he applied that custom in the presence of the Prophet Muhammad as follows:
“O Messenger of God! I buried my daughters with my own hands. Once, I took
my daughter, who was about to be a young girl, by her hand. I walked as much
as I could into the desert. We reached a dry well. I started to look into the well
as if I was looking for something.”
At that moment, the Prophet Muhammad started to cry. The man went on narrating:
“Suddenly, I kicked her at the back. She started to roll down to the wellhead first,
screaming, ‘Daddy, Daddy!’
The Prophet Muhammad started crying and, his friends had to intervene and silenced the
man, taking him out of the mosque. Again another companion of the Prophet, Omer, was
telling his story!
“Before becoming Muslim, I remember two incidents that make me cry and smile.
“The one that makes me cry is that I buried my own daughter alive. When I was
digging her grave, she was cleaning the dirt off my beard with her small hands.”
The Prophet and his companions could not bear it and started to cry. Omer continued,
“The one that makes me laugh is that as we worshipped many gods, we were
making gods out of sweet; We pray to it and when we are hungry we eat it.”
WHEN THE PEOPLE OF TAIF WENT HUNGRY
He besieged the city of Taif after the conquest of Makka. When the siege prolonged, people
started to starve to death in Taif. He ended the siege, although the enemy was about to
surrender. He was not in favor of capturing a city due to its people starving to death. The
people from city of Taif, years ago, had stoned him and spat on him; Later the prophet
expressed his feelings about this incident as 'the most bitter day of his life'.
POORER THAN ME
One of his friends committed a sin while he was fasting in the month of Ramadan.
Then, he went to the presence of the Prophet Muhammad and asked him how he
could be forgiven. The Prophet Muhammad said, “Can you free a slave?”
He said, “No. I have no money.”
The Prophet Muhammad asked, “Can you fast sixty days on end?”
He said, “O Messenger of God. I am unable to fast it”
The Prophet asked, “Can you feed sixty poor people?”
He said, “I cannot afford it.”
The Prophet said, “Then, stay with me and wait until God shows an easy way for you.”
His friend started to wait in the mosque. After a while, a person from Madina brought a
basket of dates as a present to the Prophet. The Prophet Muhammad gave the basket
to his friend and said,
“Take this basket and distribute the dates to the poor so that it will be atonement
for your sin.” He said, “O Messenger of God! I do not know a family poorer than
mine in Medina.” The Messenger of God started to smile and said, “Then, take it to
your family and eat the dates together.”
THE POWER OF GOD IS GREATER
Somebody was beating his slave with a whip. The Prophet Muhammad silently came
close from behind and called the beating person:
“You should know that the power of God over you is greater than your power over
this poor slave.”
The master who was filled up with fear from head to foot shook and the whip fell on the
ground from his hand. He turned to the Prophet Muhammad: “O the Apostle of God!
Be the witness; I am freeing this slave”.
PRAYER IN THE HOUSE OF A BLIND MAN
One of his friends asked the Prophet to pray in his house because his eyes were almost
blind. The next day, the Messenger of God prayed in the house of his blind friend together
with his companion. Indeed, It is said that the Prophet Muhammad never replied with the
word “No” to anyone who asked something from him. Even the Prophet Muhammad did
not have what he was asked, he would find from somewhere else and give it to the person.
HE BOUGHT IT FIRST
One of his poor friends, Cabir, was newly married; he had financial difficulties. The Prophet
Muhammad wanted to relieve him of his troubles but he did NOT want to offend him; he just
asked Jabir what he owned. He said he had only had a weak camel.
The Prophet Muhammad asked him to sell his camel to him. He paid for it when he returned
to Madina. After buying it, the Prophet Muhammad gave the camel to Jabir as a wedding
gift. The Prophet Muhammad also prayed to God for Jabir for a long time that night to give
him happiness in the world and Hereafter.
BEING PAINT AND TOLERANT
Once when the Prophet was going home after talking to his Companions in the mosque,
a man pulled him by the collar and said rudely: "O Muhammad! Give me my due! Load up
my two camels! For you will load them up with neither your own wealth nor that of your
father!" Without showing any sign of being offended, he told his companions:
"Give him what he wants." Pulling the collar of the Prophet left a red mark on his neck.
3. His Intelligence and guidance
SMART SOLUTION
Before his Prophet hood, unbelievers were having a dispute about which tribe would
place a holy stone in front of Kabe, the holy house of God in Islam. They could not
agree on that. So they just vowed that the first person that entered the door of KABE
would be their advisor whom they would ask his advice about their dispute.
Then the Prophet Muhammad entered the door, and they were glad that it was the Prophet
Muhammad because they had a complete trust him in any matter. The Prophet put a piece
of cloth on the ground and put the stone on it. And he asked the leaders of each tribe to
hold one of the corners of the cloth and carry it to its place. Thus the Prophet prevented a
possible fight between the tribes.
Divine minds and divine hearts always act in the divine path of God, which aims
peace and harmony among people.
IF YOU EAT IT, IT IS YOUR SUSTENANCE
One of the Jews of Madina who had a piece of bread in his hand confronted the Prophet.
Many Jews, Muslims and idolaters were around them. The Jew showed the bread to the
Prophet and asked,
“O Muhammad! Is this my sustenance?”
It was a trap. If the Prophet Muhammad said,"Yes", he would not eat the bread and
throw it away. If he said, "No", he would eat it; thus, he would refute what the Prophet
would say and try to humiliate him. He wanted to prove that he is not a prophet because he
does not know the answer.
The Prophet Muhammad answered him without thinking much and said,
“If you eat it, it will be your sustenance!”
STOP LYING FIRST
Once a man came to Prophet Muhammad and said, "O Messenger of God, I have many
bad habits. Which one of them should I give up first?" Prophet Muhammad said,
"Give up telling lies first and always speak the truth.”
THE MASTER OF THE PEOPLE
He was together with his friends in the mosque. A messenger from a foreign country rushed
in. He had a diplomatic letter in his hand. The messenger who was a stranger and who did
not know Madina and Muslims asked, “Who is the master of this people?”
Meanwhile, The Prophet was standing and serving some food to his friends. When he heard
the question of the messenger, he answered without thinking,
“The master of people is the one that serves them.”
4. As A Teacher of the Souls, Minds and Hearts
The Prophet was exceptional as a teacher and a pedagogue. He was addressing to people
according to their level, status, age and personality. He was like jeweler who treated people
regarding their value; He makes valueless people valuables ones and valuable ones more
valuable through getting them know about God. To Islam, Humans get valuable once he
acknowledges God as a creator.
Shortly, his teaching was not a system of education that took only the human soul into
consideration. He dealt with his people in terms of soul, mind, heart and all feelings; he
brought about a very civilized society out of a wild tribe that buried their daughters alive.
One of his distinguished Companion, said, "We used to drink blood, eat carcass,
fornicate, steal, kill people and plunder. The strong used to oppress the weak;
we used to commit many more disgraceful things before Islam.”
The Importance He Gave to Literacy
Some of the prisoners of the Battle of Badr could not afford to pay ransom to be freed
but they could read and write. The Prophet told them that they would teach ten children
of Muslims to read and write so that they could get released.
Suffa School, first school in Islam
Suffa School was an exceptional school that enabled the education of many scholars
among the Companions. This school consisted of about 400-500 students that had no
houses, families, goods, that is, nothing that could keep them busy with worldly affairs
and they spent all of their time by learning from the Messenger of God. Their education
was so important that the Prophet preferred meeting their needs to his family’s needs.
The students educated there were sent to other tribes to teach Islam.
Suffa students were the first students that were the nearest to the source of the religion
and that attended assembly of the Messenger of God the most regularly. Their teachers
were the Prophet and some scholars of the Companions. The people of Suffa took a
high-level education very quickly. As a matter of fact, the Companions that narrated
the most hadiths were generally among them.
Women Students
The educative aspect of the Messenger of God is an issue that can be evaluated in various
aspects. While educating people spiritually, he also equipped them materially in a way to
defeat most civilized nations.
While educating the male Companions, he did not neglect the female Companions; he
allocated a separate day for them to give them education. However, there is something
very important to take into consideration here:
The importance that the Messenger of God gave women took place in a period when
women were not regarded as human beings and were bought and sold like goods
and when girls were buried alive because their fathers were ashamed of them.
The wives of Prophet took care of the education of the girls of the Companions.
They taught the girl students that came to their houses. While making pace bridges
between their tribes and their hearts soften toward Islam during exchange of counter-visits.
And those girls taught what they had learnt to other girls. The wives of Prophet especially
Blessed Aisa and Umme Salama and some other women contributed a lot to the education
of women. The wives of the Messenger of God became first women teachers at the first
school or university called as “the School of the Wives of the Prophet”
This refutes one of the misunderstandings of Islam that “women cannot work.”
Prophet did not discriminate between free people and slaves in terms of education. His
following statement said, "There are two rewards for a person who educates a slave,
trains him/her, frees him/her and marries him/her off."
5. Being clean
Being clean and hygienic is a very important issue for Islam; They take a ablution five
times a day before their prayer; Ablution includes washing hands, face, arms ears and
feet. The Prophet was washing his hands before and after meals, and his mouth as well
after meals warning the believers that germs can reside in their mouth and hands if they
are not washed away.
Unfortunately today, except Muslims from Turkey, are in general not good examples of true Islam or
good followers of their prophet, Muhammed!
LIKE THE DEVIL
One of his companies entered the mosque. His hair and beard were intermingled. It became
clear from the change of the facial expression of Muhammad that he did not like his friend’s
appearance. Getting the message, his friend went out, had a haircut, trimmed his beard,
cleaned himself and returned. He sat in front of the Prophet with an embarrassed smile.
The Prophet Muhammad smiled, too. He said,
"Is it not better like this instead of having the hair and beard intermingled like devil?"
The Prophet had always a smiling face and advised his companions as well to have
a smiling face; He said, “Smiling of a believer at another believer is a donation.”
Once again the Prophet Muhammad saw a man with dirty clothes and he asked,
“This person cannot find any water to wash his clothes?”
The Prophet Muhammad once saw a man wearing worn-out clothes. He asked him,
“Do you have money? How is your financial situation?”
Upon the man’s reply that he is rich, he said, “Then, when God gave you prosperity,
let it be seen on you!” (To appreciate HIS blessing)
However, he did not like the persons who wear rich clothes to show their pride and vanity!
He said, “In Judgment day, people cannot have anything valuable more than a
beautiful personality and good moral values. God hates those who say bad words
and commit bad deeds.
The Prophet’s hair and beard were always clean and tidy. He wore clean and tidy clothes
that matched in colour but would not bother others and draw their attention. He always had
a nice divine smell on him. He advised Muslims to use good perfumes on themselves
before they go to mosque. And He always smiled at people even he is sad inside. He says,
A Muslim’s smile at another Muslim is a donation in the eyes of God.
The Messenger advised quarantine to contain outbreaks of contagious diseases too:
"If you hear that there is plague in a place, don't enter it; if plague breaks out where
you are, don't leave it to escape from it.”
He also declared: "Keep yourself away from the leper as you do from a lion.
IT DO NOT DO AGAIN
When he entered the mosque, he saw a newly converted Muslim blow his nose and threw
the napkin on the ground. He cleaned the ground with his hand and picked up the napkin.
And he said, “Do not do it again”
6. FURTHER REMARKS; UNDERSTANDING THE PROPHET
MUHAMMAD BETTER!
His Concern for Animals: YOU WILL GUARD THEM
Once when he was leading his army, he saw a female dog that had just given birth to her
babies. He called his friend and said, "You will stand in front of the mum and her babies.
Guard and protect them from being crushed until the whole army pass by."
THE ANIMAL WHICH IS UNABLE TO SPEAK
One day while he was walking, he saw a lean camel whose belly had shrunk to its back
because of not being fed well. He became sad and turned to its owner:
“Fear God while tending this animal which is unable to speak.
Once he told that God reproached an earlier Prophet for setting fire to a nest of ants.
He tells a parable: "A prostitute was guided to truth by God and ultimately went to Paradise
because she gave water to a dog dying of thirst. Another woman was sent to Hell because
she left a cat to die of hunger."
Once while returning from a military campaign, a few companions removed some
young birds from their nest to stroke them. The mother bird came back and, not finding
its babies, began to fly around screeching. When told of this, the messenger became
upset and ordered his companions to put the birds back in the nest.
When the Messenger saw a man sharpening his knife directly in front of the sheep to be
slaughtered, he asked:
"Do you want to kill it many times?"
Suppression of Anger
He is not strong and powerful, who wrestle people down, but he is strong who
withholds himself from anger.
He mentions about God’s mercy:
"God is more loving and kinder than a mother toward her dear child."
The Prophet Muhammad was kind and nice to everyone. He was showing affection to
children, old people and those who are in need. He is a Prophet of compassionate, mercy
and affection.
CURSING OR BLESSING PROPHET?
The Prophet Muhammad said, “I am not sent upon to curse on but I am sent upon the
God’s,creations from living to non-living ones to have mercy on them”
Once his companies requested him,
“O the Prophet of God! Our power is not enough for the damages and fierceness of
the Devs tribe. May You curse them and let them vanish.
The prophet Muhammad opened His hands. Everybody was waiting for the curse to be said
by the prophet. Instead, Prophet Muhammad prayed for Dews tribe, ;
“ My God! Please show the Devs tribe the right way. Provide them to see the truth.
He repeated this three times.
Patience
Once he was stoned by the children of Taif where he went for preaching Islam for at least 3
kilometers. He was bleeding all over. He was so sad and he prayed to God. Upon this the angel
Gabriel came upon with other two angels and asked him if he wants them to be punished, but the
prophet said, “May be his children in future will accept Islam.” He had such a kind hearth that he
would not allow anyone to be hurt because of him.
Jealousy
The prophet Muhammad said, “Keep yourselves far from jealousy, because it finishes
up and takes away your good deeds, like the same way a fire that burns up wood.”
As the most trustable person, Muhammad, before Islam as well!
God's Messenger was known as a truthful person even before Islam. The Makkans,
even the unbelievers, called him as, the Trustworthy One, the Truthful one Even his
enemies did not accuse him of lying after he proclaimed his Prophet hood.
After the Treaty of Hudaybiye, God's Messenger sent his messengers with invitation
letters to the rulers of neighboring countries. Letters were inviting them to Islam similar to
Christian missionaries of today. The Emperor of Byzantium, Heraclius received it in Syria
at a time when a Makkan trade caravan headed by Ebu Sufyan who was in the area of
Damascus.
Treating the slaves or dead enemies
The prophet Muhammed never let anyone torture on the dead enemies to get revenge like
cutting their parts of body, which was a war habit in those times or let the slaves to be tortured.
Opposedly, he bought clothes or them and let them be free by ransom or in return for teaching
on Muslim to read and write.
His integrity
Ebu Sufyan was the bitterest enemy of Islam at that time. The Emperor summoned him
asked him the following questions: “Do you know who the man is; He claims that he
is a Prophet! Does he have noble family?”
He has a noble family!
Did any of his ancestors claim prophet hood?
No!
Does he have any kings or emperors among his ancestors?
No!
Do the Elite or the weak mostly follow him?
The weak
Have you ever heard him lie?
No
What does he teach you?
He tells us to worship to one GOD only, not to lie but tell the truth, to stay away from bad
deeds, to treat each other kindly, to keep our promises and to pay our debts on time!
Do his followers increase or decrease?

They have been increasing daily!

Has he ever ever broken his promise?
No
The statements above prove clearly that even his enemies praised him and were sure
of his integrity!
So, what was holding the unbelievers back not to believe in the prophet Muhammad? Two
words: Their pride and stubbornness; They were thinking that the prophet should be
rich and be one of them in their social status.
The idolaters knew very well that the prophet Muhammad known as a trustable person who
never lied was telling the truth; They were calling him as Trustable. He was the prophet but
they were having hard time admitting that he is a prophet. He was an orphan and he was a
shepherd; so why did God choose him as a prophet? This question was boggling their
stubborn minds.
They couldn’t bear the truth that a shepherd could be the chosen one as a prophet!
Indeed all the prophet had the same fate. They were always looked down by his
enemies or belittled.
HIS BALANCE BETWEEN THE WORLD AND AFTER LIFE
The Messenger regarded himself as a traveler in this world. He said: "What connection
do I have with this world? I am like a traveler who takes shade under a tree and then
continues on his destination."
He means that the world is like a tree under which people are shaded. No one can live
forever, so people must prepare here for the second part of the journey, which will end
either in Paradise or Hell depending on their good or bad deeds.
The Prophet Muhammad is very much concerned about the Parents as
well in the light of Qur’an that says,
“Worship to God, and ascribe no partners to Him, and be good to the parents, and
the relatives, and the orphans, and the poor, and the neighbor to next door, and the
distant neighbor, and the close associate, and the traveler, and your servants. God
does not love the arrogant and showoff people.” (Woman 36)
“Your Lord has commanded that you worship none but Him, and that you be good to
your parents. If either of them or both of them reach an old age with you, do not say
to them a word of disrespect, nor scold them, but say to them kind words.”
“And lower to them the wings of humility, out of mercy, and say, ‘My Lord, have
mercy on them, the same way as they raised me when I was a child.” (Night journey 23 24)
“We have entrusted the human being with the care of his parents. His mother carried
him through hard times, weaning him in two years. So give thanks to Me, and to your
parents. To Me is the destination.” (Luqman 14)
The Prophet Muhammad’s sayings about Parents and neighbours
. .
His companion asked him, “Which of the good deeds are valuable in the presence of
God? He said, “ Praying on time!”
His companion asked, “What about after that?”
The Prophet Muhammad said, “ Being good to your parents!”
.
One man came and asked the Prophet Muhammad, “Who is the one whom
I am supposed to behave/care best?” The Prophet replied “Your mother.”
.
“The man asked again, “After her?”
The Prophet replied “Your mother.”
The man asked again, “After her?”
The Prophet replied “Your mother.”
The man asked again, “After her?”
The prophet replied “Your Father.”
“What I understand from the saying above is that mothers are more important than
fathers; They may be more vulnerable and they suffer a lot to bear. Unfortunately today,
Elderly Care Homes are full and we turn out to be a very busy generation forgetting about
our parents and the idiom ‘What goes around comes around.’ ”
The prophet Muhammad said,“The paradise lies at the feet of Mothers”Once he said,
“Those shall be miserable. Those shall be miserable. Those shall be miserable.”
His companions asked him, “Who are those?” The Prophet replied,
“Those who could reach his one of his parents or both parents’ old times but fail to
look after them will fail to enter the paradise”.
This is very important because we live in such times that we isolate ourselves from our
relatives especially from our parents; Seeing them at Christmas is not enough to repay
them what they did for us when we were kids!
The prophet Muhammad said, “The biggest misdeeds are”;
To believe that God has a partner!
To disobey and be against parents.
To kill innocent people
To lie under oath!
To take away/grasp orphan’s money
To slander virtuous women.
The Prophet Muhammad’s sayings about Neighbours
“The one who believes in God and Judgment Day should be good to his neighbor,
should treat his guests and should say good things or say nothing!”
“The one who fills his stomach while his neighbor is hungry is not one of us!”
“When you prepare the broth, add water to that and give that as a treat to your neighbor.
“The best friend in the sight of God is the one who is the well-wisher of his companions,
and the best neighbour is the one who behaves best towards his neighbours.
Closing
I believe in my heart that Moses, Jesus Christ and Muhammed have been watching us
from heaven and when they see that these major religion members have been clashing
with each other, I believe that they must be so sad! We have no right to make them feel
sad about us. We should give ourselves a wake-up call for a peaceful world.
My prayer is that those days, where all humans embrace each other regardless of
race religion and color, will come, and people will be united in a whole new world
through raising a new golden generation who has no bad feelings in their hearts but
just only love and respect, and continue to live in peace and harmony on the earth
God granted us.
A WHOLE NEW WORLD WITH A NEW GOLD GENERATION
“Shall I not inform you of a better act than fasting, alms, and prayers? Making
peace between one another: enmity and malice tear up heavenly rewards by the
roots.”
“There are two God’s blessings which most of people fail to value; One is health
and the other is free time.”

The last prophet for the humanity

  • 1. MUHAMMAD AS THE LAST PROPHET TO THE MANKIND Qur’an was revealed upon the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him and all Prophets) within 23 years, 1400 years ago, and even one word had not been changed in it since then. “We revealed Qur’an and we will protect it” (Qur’an 15:9) The Last Brick “Assume that you saw a very nice house and you walked in and noticed that inside the house was well-decorated too. But in this beautiful house there was a missing brick on the wall. That house is God’s revelation of HIS religion through all Prophets and I am the last brick that covers that hole in that beautiful house.” By the Last Prophet Muhammad
  • 2. We started with confirmation that Qur’an remained unchanged and the Prophet’s Muhammad’s humble description of himself considering other Prophets. The rose is the symbol of Prophet Muhammad that means love for all humanity as a last warner. Throughout the history of Mankind, people always questioned themselves: “Where did I come from and who am I? Where am I going? Today we face the same questions. We are not so sure about what the future brings us. What comes out next? We need to find something to make us feel secure and reach true happiness here and HEREAFTER. Most of us are suffering from the troubles either our inner world or outer world, sometimes both. But we pretend to be happy by involving daily life activities, and forgetting why we are unhappy deep inside. We, people of this well-designed planet, are, in fact, desperate, sad and hopeless while watching dying people at wars, starving people in the third-world countries, homicides, all kind of abuses, drugs, atrocities and killing thousands of people for religious (!) purposes or political ideas. If we read through the world history, we faced troubles and killings whenever we were away from our faith and holy books and prophets. Those who did not live their faith truly and did not have any faith in their hearts had shed blood through the history: Because they ignored the fact that they would have to account for all their misdeeds committed in the world since they didn’t have any fear of the judgment day. Thus, God kept delivering His messages thorough His prophets to lead his servants to the right path. The prophets starting from Adam, Noah, Abraham (who is the forefather of prophets) Jacob, Joseph, Solomon, David Moses Jesus Christ, and the last prophet, Mohammad led their people to right path and warned them about the resurrection and judgment day. The prophets strongly ordered their followers NOT to kill each other but love one another, help poor people and be honest and straight in their lives. When People, in the course of history, followed their prophets, they led a happy life, and when they ignored and worse they did not believe in their prophets and challenged them, they, in fact, challenged God who punished them severely at the end. We still have the remains of those punishments like the one Pompeii in Italy. As for the present time, there will be no punishments at all but we do have consequences; we have been paying off being ignorant to God’s teachings by having so much pain on earth and in our lives; world wars, Aids, massacres, drugs, bombings, ethnic cleansing etc. So what is the solution to these harsh problems? I believe that each religion members, Jews, Christians, Muslims and Buddhists should follow their holy books and their prophets sincerely and closely. In that regard, as a believer in Jesus and Moses, I get curious why Christians do not accept Muhammad as a prophet and Qur’an as a holy book. I made a profound research about the prophet Muhammad and I found out that the prophet Muhammad’s teachings are very much similar to Jesus’ or Moses’ teachings as if they were coming the same divine source. May be they are! And surprisingly I found out that, Muslims believe in all holy books and prophets like Jesus and Moses! I will let you decide yourself about the Muhammad whether is a prophet or not through the following presentation.
  • 3. The Prophet Muhammad’s Life. He was born in April 20th of 571, almost 600 years later after Jesus! His mother’s name was Amine and His father’s name was Abdullah who passed away before he was born. His nursing mother, Halime, raised him. When he was at the age of 6, his mother passed away too. After 6 years old, his grandfather looked after him until he was 8. When his grandfather passed away, his uncle Abu Talib took care of him. He was married at the age of 25 with Blessed Hatice who was 40 years old; she noticed the Prophet’s honesty and integrity in his personality at that time, and she asked him to get married with herself. He had 6 children from Blessed Hatice: Abdullah, Zeynep, Kasim Rukiye, Ummu Gulsum, and Fatima. All of his children passed away before the Prophet Muhammad passed away except Blessed Fatima! He thus suffered a lot upon his loss of his children mostly at early age. The Prophet Muhammad saw the angel, Gabriel, first time when he was so sad about his people’s fleshly life style and stayed away from them by going to a cave named Hira and praying in it! The Gabriel suddenly appeared in sky and asked him to read and the Prophet replied, “I am unable to read (This was repeated three times). Then the Gabriel repeated ‘read it with the name of God who is the creator that created the human out of a zygote. Read! God has infinite blessings. HE is one who teaches with pencil. God thought human being about the things he did not know!’ ” Then the Prophet Muhammad repeated what Angel said to him. And Angel disappeared! Indeed this is the first verse of Qur’an that was revealed upon the Prophet Muhammad; so noticeable and miraculous that the first verse of Qur’an started with “READ” and it is about human’s creation; in those times nothing was known about the phases of an unborn baby in mother’s womb. That is, revelation of Qur’an started with the first order to humans with “Read” to improve themselves in Science and Wisdom! Read the universe and read yourself before everything to know your creator. Qur’an is believed that it is the most important miracle of the Prophet Muhammad. Muhammad became the Prophet at the age of 40 in 610. He had to migrate to Medina in 622 because of the oppression of unbelievers and their plot to kill him. He got married with the daughter of Ebu Bekr, Aisa, in 624 upon his first wife Blessed Hatice passing way in 620. The Prophet was at the age of 55 and the Blessed Aisa was 19 years old. The Prophet passed away at the age of 63 in Medina in 632. He never spent his life on worldly desires and ambitions. He lived a very poor life. When he passed away, even his shield was pawned in a Jewish possession. He led a very humble life; when he was sitting with his companies, it was hard to recognize him as a prophet because he was wearing common clothes not the different ones and he was acting like a regular, ordinary person. The prophet Muhammad had only one ambition that he wanted to MAKE all people BELIEVE that there is God and judgment day and to live their lives according to that judgment day in which they will have to account for each deed they commit in the world.
  • 4. How were Makka and its people like before Islam? What kind of society was the Prophet Muhammad sent upon? As a last messenger from God, the Prophet Muhammad was sent upon the entire human beings not only upon Arabic people; Qur’an declares it in the verse, “We sent you as a blessing to the whole creatures”. In Makka, before the birth of Prophet Muhammad, the Arab society believed in multiple Gods. They had more than 360 gods/idols. They were ignorant of social values. They were nomadic people who were dependent on cattle for their living. There was no government or law. All power existed with the rich. The society was full of barbarity and brutality. Tribes fought with each other over trivial matters for centuries. A slight argument over horses or water would have lead to the slaughtering of thousands of innocent people. They were burying their baby daughters alive since the men believed that having a daughter was a shame for a man! Usury, oppression, slavery etc. were common practices of the society before the Prophet Muhammad was sent upon it. But the Prophet Muhammad through Islam changed these barbaric people into the ones who became afraid to step on the ants crawling on the ground. THE PROPHETS ARE TRUE MESSANGERS OF GOD We will look into his life starting with the misjudgments or misconceptions about him. Since all the Prophets were under God's divine protection to stay away committing any sins, because they were sent upon humans to be a good role model to them, thus, they did not act otherwise! If the Prophets would live like us, human beings, committing sins, then they could not be a Prophet; it will be contrary to the purpose they were sent upon earth as a good example to lead the people to right path! Shortly, Prophets are divine and holy people while they are having one foot on the earth; the other foot is in the Heaven. This is true for all Prophets. They are humans like us but at the same they are divine and holy as well so that they can accomplish their mission. All Prophets told us about two divine truths: 1. There is God 2. There is a Judgment day However, despite of prophets’ mission to save their people, slandering the Prophets became a bad habit of humans through the history of religions. David, Moses, Jesus, and Zachariah are some victims of those slandering. Unfortunately, the Prophet Muhammad was the most being slandered one! He is also the most misunderstood and misinterpreted one. All Prophets are pious, virtuous and well – divinely protected from committing anything bad. The ones who slander them, indeed, dare to slander God. They have been challenging God! The prophet Muhammed was
  • 5. The Most Being Slandered Prophet, Muhammad 1. His marriage with the Blessed Aisa Islam has got two sources: 1. Qur’an 2. The Prophet Muhammad sayings (Hadiths) But some orientalists made up some hadiths out of these two sources that when he was married with Blessed Aisa, Aisa was 9 years old (!) I searched very carefully for it, and I found out that it is a very intentional slandering the Prophet Muhammad. Blessed Aisa had an elder sister who was 10 years older than her, named Esma who had lived until 100 years old. She passed away in 695. Esma was born then in 695 -100 = 595. 10 years later in 605 the Blessed Aisa was born. If we do the math, Prophet Muhammad was 55 years old when he was married with the Blessed Aisa, in 624. So 624 – 605 (Birth date of the Blessed Aisa)= she was 19 years old. The slanderers either got bad eyesight and did not see the figure 1 on the left or they got an intentional slandering about him. So we will go forget about bad eyesight since they are slanderers, and we will conclude that this is an obvious slandering. Furthermore God ordered him to get married with the Blessed Aisa to whom God will give a mission to tell Islam later on since she had a very rich memory and keen and sharp mind. His marriage with Blessed Aisa was a Heaven- assigned marriage. The blessed Aisa became the teacher of Islam who taught half of Islam to other Muslim women. Briefly, The main reason to get married with Blessed Aisa was that she was talented to memorize whatever heard through her very rich memory. She had memorized 2210 hadiths, especially, the ones about the women issues. 2. Was Muhammad a war Prophet? It is so interesting that the Prophet Muhammad had only seven battles with unbelievers between 624 and 631, 7 years, out of his 63 years’ lifetime. All his battles were defensive ones and to stop the unbelievers’ provoking attempts. The unbelievers attacked on them, and he & his companions had to defend themselves; They never attacked on any country without any reason. The wartime rules the Prophet Muhammad ordered to his companions were very strict; 1. Never attack on women, children, old people and civilians. 2. Never attack on the Christians shelter in the churches or Jews in their synagogues 3. Never kill any animals or flocks of any animals 4. Never burn the houses, hays, fields or trees or crops or anything like that. 5. Never kill anyone who does not fight with you! 6. Never torture the prisoners! If we compare to Crusaders’ attitudes in the past and present time some Muslim extremists who kill innocent people in the name of God to go to paradise, we will see clearly that the Prophet Muhammad’s concept of Islam and humanity and today’s concept of Islam and humanity is quite different. Let’s have a brief look into his battles.
  • 6. The Battle of BADR After the Prophet Muhammad established first Islam state in Medina, it was the first battle against the unbelievers. It happened in 624. It took three hours. For all the battles, the prophet Muhammed never wanted to fight and he always sent a peace messenger to stop the battle. But the people of those time were born to fight and never easily quit on fighting. The reason: The unbelievers looted the Muslims belongings and houses in Makka to get revenge. Since Muslims left their all goods in Makka and migrated to Medina, they could not defend their houses and belongings. Besides, the unbelievers were boycotting Muslims economically in Medina. The Prophet Muhammad received some intelligence that one of the richest trade caravans of the year, was travelling from Syria to Makka. The goods contained in the caravan were the Muslims’ belongings taken by the Makkans. The Prophet Muhammad and Muslims defeated the unbelievers in this battle. The unbeliever prisoners of the battle were released on condition that they would teach 10 illiterate Muslims to read and write. The Battle of UHUD Battle of Uhud had happened in 625. The Battle of Uḥud was the second military encounter between the Makkans and the Muslims, preceded by the Battle of Badr in 624, where a small Muslim army had defeated a larger Makkans’ army. It took 5 hours. Reason: Marching out from Makka towards Medina on March 11, 625 AD, the Makkans wanted to avenge their losses at Badr and strike back at Muhammad and his followers. The two armies fought on the slopes and plains of Mount “Uḥud.” Although Muslims were about to end up in victory, something happened and Makkans won the battle because Muslims’ archery team had left their assigned spot too early. The Battle of the TRENCH in 627 Reason: Makkans (the unbelievers) sieged Medina where the Prophet Muhammad and his companions resided in. The Prophet Mohamed and his friends dug a trench around Medina to defend themselves. The unbelievers’ army was estimated around 10,000 men with six hundred horses and some camels, while the Medina defenders numbered 3,000. The unbelievers were defeated since they could not ride/jump over the trench, and their siege was finished after 30 days when there was a very sudden strong desert storm that caused the unbelievers to retreat and lose the battle. Hudeybiye TRUCE in 628 The Prophet Muhammad made a truce with unbelievers that Muslims and the unbelievers would not fight for 10 years, and the Muslims were given the right to have their pilgrimage in Makka. This is an important truce for Muslims since there was no war and they were able to deliver the message of Islam without any obstacle of swords of unbelievers, but with the words only to other tribes. Through his companions’ telling about Islam to the unbelievers during this truce, many people converted to Islam. The terms of truce were against Muslims but the Prophet Muhammad preferred the truce.
  • 7. The Battle of Hayber in 628 Reason: Hayber was a fort-city where Jewish people lived in. The Jewish people who left Madina made a Jewish community there. But they were provoking the other Arabian tribes against Muslims to unite and army against Muslims, and they were blocking the trading path of Muslims to Damascus. Then the Prophet attacked on Hayber, and after 30 days, the city of Hayber was conquered. The Jewish people were told to leave the city with their belongings. While they were about to leave, they made an offer to the Prophet Muhammad that they still could stay in Hayber on condition that they would give half of the crops to Madina. The Prophet Muhammad accepted their offer and Jewish people stayed In Hayber, and every year the whole crops were halved into two, and the Prophet Muhammad allowed Jews to choose any half they liked. Though having provoked other Arabic tribes against Muslims or blocked the trading way of Muslims, Jews admired the Prophet Muhammad’s forgiving, understanding and generous way toward themselves. However later on a Jewish woman wanted to murder the Prophet Muhammad with a very strong poison that spread on a fried goat meat, but as a miracle, the meat talked to him that it was poisoned and the Prophet Muhammad was saved. The Jewish woman defended herself she wanted to test the Prophet Muhammad whether he is a true Prophet or not on condition that he would be saved by God or not? Battle of MUTE in 629 Reason: A Muslim messenger was killed by Roman soldiers; The Roman soldiers attacked on a group of Muslim soldiers as well. Then Roman army and Muslims army battled with each other. The Muslims won the battle. The roman army was outnumbered to Muslims; however with the help God, Muslims defeated the Romans. It was said that it was a very harsh battle. Conquest of Makka Date: 630 Reason: The unbelievers broke the truce by attacking on Muslims. Then, the Prophet Muhammad conquered Makka with 10 thousand Muslims without any battle; He cleaned the 360 idols out of Kabe, a square Holy house that is believed to build up by Adam first, and later it was rebuilt by the Prophet Abraham and Ishmael. Today Muslims commit their pilgrimage by going to Makka as well after they visit the Prophet’s tomb in Medina. Battle of HUNEYN in 630 Reason: Some Arabic tribes wanted to attack on Muslims after the conquest of Makka. The Muslims won the battle. The Army Expedition of Tebuk in 631 Reason: The Roman King Heraclius wanted to stop the spread of Islam so he gathered a huge army of 40 thousand soldiers. However, the Heraclius retreated since he was scared. No battles happened.
  • 8. Conclusion: The Prophet Muhammad is a prophet of Mercy and Compassion indeed. He never started any war on his own. The idolaters were always the ones that triggered it. These are all the battles of the prophet Muhammad. When I watched a movie about the Prophet Muhammad first I just got the idea that this prophet is a war prophet since most of movie scenes were about battles and. The movie was not reflecting whole truth. As we see in the battles we read, misjudgments and misconceptions about the Prophet Muhammad considering him as a war Prophet is wrong; Let’s take a look at brief facts. * His prophethood lasted 7999 days. 40 - 63 years old, he preached Islam as a prophet. * Out of 7997 days, 392 days (including no battles, sieges, etc) took in prophet Muhammed’s life including taking care of the slaves, the raveling time back and forth on horses or camels in desert which might have taken for weeks. * Within this 393 days, from Muslim side, total 296 people were killed and from the unbeliever’s side 997 people were killed ( 700 of this figure were the ones who were killed during siege of Beni Kanuka Tribe siege wich was a harsh Battle that took 15 days in total and beni kaynuka did not want to surrender; It was a vicious tribe who back-stabbed Muslim during a war and made a lot provocations against Islam. If we compare other battles in history, these figures will be so less. DID YOU KNOW THAT? * This fact is a BIG slap on the faces of those who kill innocent people on TV alive footages in the disguise of Islam; The prophet Muhammed who carried a sword even in a battle time DID NOT KILL ANY ENEMY OF HIS. He used his sword to defend himself only. He did not kill anyone in his life. Prophet Muhammed attitudes during battles were so full of peace seeking ones; He put the strict orders NOT to kill any civilians, kids women, old or the ones in Churches.) He was merciful, kind, thoughtful compassionate, understanding and accepting. He even forgave the slave Vahsi who killed his uncle Hamza but converted to Islam later on. He always asked his companions to invite their enemies before fighting. He treated his enemies like he was trying to drag them out of the path that was leading to the hell. Prophet Muhammad was conquering the hearts by his honesty and divine personality. The time of the Prophet Muhammad was a similar to the time of Jesus who challenged the corrupted system of his people who wanted to kill him as well. It was the same for Prophet Muhammad. All these divine orders disturbed the unbelievers and felt threatened that their money-making system would be gone with Qur’an teachings; that is why they wanted to kill the Prophet Muhammad and his companions as well. Prophet Muhammad unfortunately is told in a completely opposite way in today’s media as if he were a war prophet. He had only seven defensive battles in his life, from 624 to 631.
  • 9. 3. His Marriages I have no idea why the Prophet Muhammad has been picked on his marriages. When we looked into the lives of other Prophets, except Jesus or Johannes, they all got married and some of them had more than one wife; the Prophet Solomon and David are good examples. Besides, the Prophet Muhammad’s second marriage happened when he was 51 years old with Blessed Sevde who was 55 years old and was a widow. The Prophet Muhammad had a protection marriage with her. He needed someone to look after his children too after Blessed Hatice passed away. The other marriages happened with the ladies from different tribes aiming to spread Islam or make peace between tribes after he was 55 years old, 624, till he passed away in 632. The prophet did not make any big move without being revealed. For example, When the hard times peaked, Allah revealed a verse “Hoping that Allah might build a bridge of love and relationship between you and your enemies.” Upon this verse, the prophet Muhammad got married with the daughter of Ebu Sufyan who was the head of Mekke and head of idolaters, who hated the prophet Muhammad so much; but after this marriage, he visited his daughter in Medina very often and saw the beauty of Islam close by caused his heart to be soften against Islam. Then his daughter’s marriage became a reason for Ebu Sufyan to convert to Islam. All his wives also served Islam as a teacher by telling about the topics related to women in their tribes and making Islam understand clearly. His wives were widow with their kids and above 50 years old and they later worked as a teacher at the first university of Islam. The problem is that we live in a very lustful world that our worldly concepts are very far away from divine concepts or GOD-sent Prophets’ conceptions! When the point of view is very narrow and worldly not the divine one, then, the very untrue and unfounded claims and assumptions are made by slandering which is one of the big sins in all holy books. In fact, Polygamy started in Christianity first in history and it did not begin with Muslims. However, since Islam is manipulated badly no matter what ever it says, orders, or it had been interpreted in a wrong way on purpose. L4. The Prophet Muhammad wrote Qur’an? This is another big slandering Prophet Muhammad! God would not allow His Prophet to be literate since God knew that the people would slander him like he wrote Qur’an! I read the Qur’an and it has many scientific facts in verses that they could not be known at that time. The verses about HOLY Mary are amazing; Qur’an describes it as if it is a broadcast from the divine TV.
  • 10. The Prophet Muhammad as an illiterate person cannot figure out all the life stories of other Prophets that vivid even if he were able to read Bible and Old Testament. Another illogical slandering claims that stories of other Prophets in Qur’an do exist in Bible, and the stories that do not exist in Bible but it exists in Qur’an are just made up by Prophet Muhammad(!) If anyone objectively reads Qur’an, he will notice that the eloquence, scientific information, wisdom, literature and knowledge of earth and heaven and their correlation, the events of the past, the present and future presented in Qur’an obviously proves that it is a Word of GOD! Even his However enemies called him as the most trustable one and reliable one; they know that the prophet Muhammad never told lies in his life before revelation of Qur’an. They would not believe in his call in a stubborn way that he is the Prophet and Qur’an is true message of GOD. Shortly, the slanderers that slander the Prophet Muhammad are surely unaware that Sun cannot be hidden by mud/mud-slinging nor is the truth that the Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of God. The problem is that today, we turn into kind of people who believe what we watch on TV or read on papers! We never search for the truth. 5. Jihad is killing an innocent person and going to paradise? This is another misconception of Islam that Muslims are full of rage, hatred, anger and aggression. It is ironic that a religion based on peace is known today as a religion of hatred and rage thanks to Media coverage! I am sure the most slandering one about Islam is that if a Muslim who explodes a bomb and kills the innocent people, will go to paradise? This is totally against Qur’an teachings, and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad; First the guy kills himself which is enough sinful act to go to hell without mentioning killing innocent people along with himself according to the teachings of Islam. No justification is accepted in Islam to kill innocent people. Qur’an says: 31.He said, “Woe to me! I was unable to be like this raven, and bury my brother's corpse.” So he became full of regrets. (Cain and Abel) 32. Because of that We ordained for the Children of Israel: that whoever kills a person unless it is for murder or corruption on earth—it is as if he killed the whole mankind: whole of mankind; and whoever saves it, it is as if he saved the whole of mankind. Our messengers came to them with clarifications, but even after that, many of them continue to commit.” (Qur’an 5: 32)
  • 11. Some so called smart guys interpreted the two verses above as “ No, the verse refers to Christians or Jews.” Good catch! So verses in Qur’an are ordering Christians in Christianity not the Muslims in Islam? Well, that does not make sense, does that? Indeed the previous verses start with story of the sons of the Prophet Adam, Cain and Abel. Cain killed his innocent brother Abel because of his jealousy. Following the verse, God reminds Muslims that the children of Israel did not listen to HIS order and continued to commit sins and even killing their Prophets, and therefore God orders clearly to Muslims that do not kill an innocent person; Listen to my order! Do not disobey me the same way the Children of Israel did it. The Prophet Muhammad defines the jihad as follows; Once the Prophet Muhammad and his companions were returning from a battle with his companies; He said, “Now we are done with small jihad and now we will have a big jihad which is your struggle against your inner-self and its temptations of fleshly desires.” While Islam secures even animals’ lives, it would be quite opposite to kill innocent people in the name of God! “Inner struggle” is much more important than anything in Islam since if one cannot overcome his inner-self’ temptations, he cannot set a good example of Islam. I agree that we can’t correct others if we don’t correct ourselves first! That is, “True Islam” and teachings of Qur’an and the Prophet Muhammad are opposite to Islam we watch on TV today! When we look into the Prophet Muhammad’s character traits, we will see that how badly we are misled by media and the attitudes of those extreme Muslims! What we watch on TV, all cruel and lunatic killings are just a puppet show to make Islam look badly in the eyes of world people. However, in the light of the teachings said above, how come a religion even it starts with “peace be upon you” greeting turned bad? Because of some uneducated Muslims who are unaware of true Islam since they have been following some misguided mentors who keeps brainwashing them against the teachings of the Qur’an and Prophet Muhammad through their misinterpretations, and they eventually turn into extremists who have been killing the innocent people in the name of Jihad. And thanks to our global misleading media that distorts the reality about true Islam. This kind of brain-washing influences people at all ages; An anecdote; A Muslim friend of mine who is from Turkey, teaches English at an international school as a sub. (Turkish Muslims have no beard in general and they wear western style and mostly look like Westerners). My friend is almost done the day; And there is a conversation going on with his Primary1 student from USA. Student: Mr E, where are you from? Mr E : I am from turkey. Student: Are you Muslim? Mr E : Yes I am! Student: Oh My Gosh!
  • 12. This is a very clear proof that where world people stand and how badly they have bias against Islam; even a little girl’s mind is brainwashed by her environment and overheard news. If I keep watching TV I would have been misguided as well about Islam and Muslims who are broadcasted on channels while shouting and killing innocent people. Jihad is the most misunderstood concept by Muslims and non-Muslims! How a divine religion claims killing innocent people is jihad? Islam secures Muslims and non-Muslims’ lives as a first priority for sure. Prophet Muhammad’s war orders are clear that civilians and animals are supposed to be secure during the battle. Shortly, Islam has nothing to do with killing innocent people and going to paradise. 6. Did Prophet Muhammad spread Islam by sword or by word? The Prophet Muhammad was completely following a very peaceful way to tell about Islam: God in Qur’an says, “O my Prophet, invite humans to Islam by the best preaching, the best proofs and wisdom and treat them with good and kind words.” If we consider the attitudes of people at that time, they would grab their swords right away if they saw something challenging. Fighting with swords NOT WITH WORDS to survive was a life style in those times. Nobody would defend himself by words if he is attacked by swords. The idolaters with hatred and rage in their hearts and swords in their hands were charging toward the prophet Muhammad and his companions, and what could one expect the prophet to do in this situation? “Hold on, please? Can we talk? Nope! Right! That does not make sense! That’s why the Prophet Muhammad had to defend himself.” Indeed the prophet Muhammad sent on around 90 thousand companions over the world to spread Islam: While he was making his last speech in Macca, a year ago he passed away, the number of his companions was 100 thousand. And today in the grave yards of Macca and Medina, the total number of the buried Muslims is around 10 thousand. So, 90 thousand companions of him died in the different places all over the world while doing their missions to spread Islam. Ninety thousand companions of Him spread Islam in the countries they were sent by setting a good example and did it with words not with swords; that is, they addressed the hearts of people with their good attitudes and kind personalities. Conclusion: The Prophet Muhammad’s understanding of Islam and his respect, peaceful mind and heart can’t be compared with today’s Islam like killing innocent Christians and humans; Killing innocent people has got nothing to do with Islam!
  • 13. The ones who commit killing innocent people are not entitled to enter the paradise either! I checked the web pages whether any Islamic clerks or preachers have very close ideas with the Prophet Muhammad! There is a Turkish preacher named as Fethullah Gulen who has been currently living in the USA! His ideas are very impressive: He says, “If anyone so called a Muslim consciously kills an innocent person, he will go to hell directly.” He also defines the terrorism in the best way: Terrorism has no country, no religion and no race; A terrorist can’t be a Muslim and a Muslim can’t be a terrorist. I also found that Turkish Islam is very close to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad especially regarding his tolerance and dialogues between religions. Turkey as a Muslim country is the only one that has Jewish citizens and Christian citizens living in Turkey (around 30 thousand totally) for a long time in peace without any fear or threat; They have also freedom to pray in their own religions. The Prophet Muhammad’s Character Traits 1.The Prophets’ compassionate, Universal understanding & Accepting and honesty, modesty toward humanity . He warned his Companions: "When I come upon you, don't stand up as the Persians do for their elders! Another occasion, the Prophet Muhammad visited a Jewish child who got sick because of losing his bird. Blessed Aisha tells about his poor life conditions: “The Apostle of God had never eaten to satiation through his life. He was in financial difficulties. He did not have three meals in a day. Sometimes we didn’t have any food but dates and water for months” The Blessed Prophet was resting on a piece of straw mat. The Prophet was the head of the state; If he wanted to have food, he would have it easily because he was holding state’s goods and food. But he always chose to live like a regular human being not like a king, and he would not touch the state treasury as a good model of believer. He never abused his position neither divinely nor worldly. Once some Christian people came to visit the Prophet Muhammad to have some information about Islam. And after a while, it was praying time for Christians, and Christians asked whether they could pray in his mosque or not? The Prophet Muhammad, without hesitation, allowed Christian people to pray in his mosque! How many Muslims would allow Christians to pray in their mosques today?
  • 14. CAN THERE BE A SLAVE BETTER THAN ME? The Prophet was having food with his friends sitting on the ground outside. A woman found it very strange and said, “Look at him! He is sitting on the ground and eating like a slave.” The Prophet Muhammad smiled and answered: “Can there be a better slave than me? I am a slave of GOD.” DOING WORK FOR OTHERS Once the Prophet sent one of his companions to a place for a mission. But the Prophet himself did the chores for his companion until he returned. The Prophet Muhammad covered the work like milking the cows and goats for his companion he sent for a duty. HELPING HAND FOR EVERYONE A mentally retarded woman entered the mosque and said: “O Muhammad come and do my housework.” The Prophet Muhammad smiled but answered with a serious voice tone: “Let’ s go from whichever way you want.” He helped the old lady willingly. RELAX! I AM NOT A KING. A newly convert Muslim, Arab migrant who saw the apostle of GOD for the first time was trembling because of his excitement. The Prophet Muhammad said: “Relax! Calm down I am no king but the son of a woman who used to eat dried bread.” DO NOT FORGET ME IN YOUR PRAYER! He asked one of his companions to pray for him. His companion was going to Makka for a pilgrimage. “ Dear brother! Do not forget me in your prayers.” WHEN I WAS A SHEPHERD A few friends of the Prophet went to him with thorny fruits that belonged to a tree called arak. Unripe fruits attracted the attention of the Apostle of God and he commented on: “Pick up the fruits of this tree after they get dark and ripen completely. When I was a shepherd, I used to pick them up and eat.” TELL THE TRUTH. Once he covered an old lady’s eyes and said’ Old women cannot enter the paradise. When he saw that the old lady was so sad, he just explained: “because all the people will be 33 years old in paradise. Then the old lady was happy. He just wanted to say, “Even when you make a joke, do not lie!” “If it is necessary to say something, tell the truth.” “A real believer is the one from whom others feel secure his tongue and hand.” It means a real believer will not harm others by gossiping or slandering them.
  • 15. HELPING AT HOME His wife Aisa says: “He was happy to do his work himself. Though his friends were ready to do his works, he did not want them to do them. While at home, he mended his clothes, swept the house, milked the goats, tethered camels and fed them. Moreover, He repaired his shoes and leaking water skins, helped the servants and kneaded dough with them. He carried the food from the market himself, and when someone said, “O, Apostle of God! Let me carry them.” He replied; “Every believer should carry his own load himself if he can.” HE WAS A JEW BUT AFTER ALL A HUMAN He was sitting with His friends in an open place in Medina. A funeral was passing by them. It was obvious in every respect, that the funeral was a Jewish. The Prophet Muhammad stood up and waited until the funeral passed by. His friends were confused and warned him by thinking “Maybe he was not aware of the situation”: “O Apostle of GOD! This was a Jew.” He replied: “But at the same time he was a human.” FORGIVING When he went to the city of Taif many in order to spread his religion and to get help, he was faced by stoning and spitting. He raised His hands and prayed: “O God! Forgive them. They do not know (that I am a Prophet!) Later he prayed for the people of Taif who could become Muslim and his prayer was accepted by God and the people of Taif converted to Islam later on. He was forgiving. HAVING MERCY ON THE MAGICIAN An unbeliever who was cast a spell on him. The apostle of God was affected by it. Later on, he was saved from it by God’s blessing. And he had learnt the name of this evildoer. However, no one disturbed him. No one said anything to him. The unbeliever was forgiven. ` EVERYBODY DOES WHAT SUITS HIM Once the Prophet was taking a rest under a tree. An unbeliever had wanted to kill him and tiptoed toward him quietly. He took the Prophet’s Muhammad’s sword, which was on a branch of the tree, and touched the throat of the Prophet, who was sleeping, with his sword Touched by the cold metal, the Prophet Muhammad opened his eyes and saw unbeliever grinning at him arrogantly who was sure about his victory and asked the Prophet arrogantly, “O Muhammad! Who will save you from me now?” The Prophet answered his question with a divine confidence by shouting: "GOD!.." Upon the sudden fear of the exclamation “GOD”, the unbeliever fell down on his back and his sword fell off. Then, the Prophet Muhammad stood up suddenly and grabbed his sword. He touched his throat with the sword. Now it was just the opposite. The Prophet asked him smilingly and calmly, “Who will save you from me now?”
  • 16. The unbeliever said, “O Muhammad! There are two people here; One is good! One is bad. I am the bad one. You are the good one. You choose the good one! Let everybody do what suits him.” The Prophet said, “You are free; you can go now!” RACISIM HAS NO PLACE IN ISLAM AND PROPHET’S WARNING ABOUT IT. Once one of his companions wanted to sit next to a black Muslim. But black Muslim for some reasons he did not give him some space to sit. Then the companion insulted the black Muslim as “Oh the son of Black woman.” The Prophet Muhammad heard it and asked that companion. What are you seeing there? His companion replied, “ Black, red, and white people!” Then the Prophet said, “You couldn’t make people superior to each other by discriminating them like he is white or black. Believers are pious according to their piety and devotion to their religion.” “God does not look at your faces or your goods! God looks into your hearts and your deeds that you commit.” And a verse from Qur’an says what the Prophet Muhammad interpretes: “ O People, as truth stands out, we created you as a male and female and then we divided you into tribes so that you can meet each other.” “The most pious in the presence of God is the one who fears of God most. No doubt that God knows everything and becomes aware of everything.” THE SOUND OF A CRYING A CHILD Once he was praying with his companions and he finished his prayer very early and fast! And his companions asked the reason and he said, “I heard the voice of a crying child. I was worried that his parents would be worried?” Once the Prophet Muhammad was playing with his grandkids, putting them on his shoulder. One of his companions did not understand why a Prophet was showing his compassionate on his grandchildren since he was a prophet and should keep distance. He replied, ‘If God took mercy from your heart what can I do? God has mercy & compassionate on those who have mercy and compassion on others. He played with his grand children at times. He was taking two grandchildren on his shoulders, right and left one. He has no pride that he is Being prophet would not prevent him from being humble. He addressed to everyone according to his/her level.
  • 17. HAVING MERCY ON THE ENEMY A tribe chief named Hamama, who was met all the needs of grain of Makka became a Muslim. And he stopped selling grain to Makkans. The Makkan Pagans, who faced the danger of famine, got in contact with Hamama at first. However, the answer was negative. Upon this, as a last resort, they sent a delegate to the Prophet Muhammad. They said, “If we cannot get help from you, we will starve to death.” He did not even think of the fact that Makkans had not given him and all Muslims a single grain of wheat for three years. He did not think of the fact that, along with His Muslim friends, they had been forced to migrate and had not been given the right of living in their native land just for saying, “Our Lord is God”. He did not even consider that there had been several attempts for killing him. He chose to forget what they did, and commanded Hamama to sell them grain. After that, Makka had its grain again. After the prophet Muhammed conquered Macca, he freed all the Idolaters; He did not even let any of his companies hurt any idolaters. His Mercy is indeed a reflection of God’s Mercy. He was considering even the prides of idolaters NOT to be hurt. DO NOT LET HIM TORTURE HIMSELF He saw an old man who was going on foot to the Kabe with his two sons, who were riding camels. He asked the reason. He found out that his behavior was due to a vow he had taken. However, the old man was walking with difficulty. He sent him a message, “God is not in need of this person’s torturing of himself. Tell him to ride on a camel.” ZEYNEP'S MURDERER Habir was the murderer of the Prophet Muhammad’s daughter Zeynep. While Zeynep was emigrating from Makka to Medina to join her father, she was surrounded by a group of idolaters, among whom Habir was present and caused Blessed Zeynep to fall from her camel with his spear. Zeynep, who was pregnant, had a miscarriage, and later, died because of this. When Makka was conquered, the Prophet of God sent a message to Habir, who had hidden and prepared to flee to Iran fearing that her revenge would be taken. The Prophet granted him life safety. When Habir came to his presence. He accepted his loyalty oath and forgave him. UHUD, THE PEAK OF COMPASSION Uhud was the second greatest test of Islam in the battlefield. Uhud, which resulted in a defeat in terms of tactics, is a place where the Prophet Muhammad and all Muslims suffered a lot. The Prophet Muhammad suffered some great pains like the martyrdom of tens of his friends, the scattering of his army as well as some less severe pains like receiving seventy sword blows, breaking of one of his teeth, having a rip in his cheek and pieces of iron stuck into his gum.

  • 18. During the hardest moments when all of those pains were experienced, he opened his hands toward the sky and prayed for the Makkan unbelievers that caused all of those troubles but he did not curse them: “O God! Forgive my people because they do not know ...” He could have cursed upon his enemies but he did not. 2.The prophet’s love for others as a father, Grandfather . . through his kind heart NICE RIDERS Another day, as the Prophet Muhammad was playing "riding on camel” game with Hasan and Huseyin, his grandchildren, on his back, they met a company of the Prophet, Omer who said to the children: "You have such a nice horse". Prophet Muhammad answered: “They are also nice riders." ME YOUR FATHER AND AISHA YOUR MOTHER On one morning of a religious festival, he was returning home from the mosque. In the street, he saw children playing in their festival clothes. However, one child attracted his attention. He was sitting aside with dirty and old clothes on him and watching the others. The Prophet Muhammad came close to him and ask, "My son" He said: "why do you not join your friends?" The child answered in sadness... "O Apostle of God I am an orphan..." For the Prophet Muhammad, this was enough... He took the child by the hand, and brought him to His home. There, the orphan was washed; new clothes were dressed; he was fed and some money was put in his pocket; he was happy. Then, the Prophet Muhammad took his face into His hands and asked, “Would you like me to be your father, Aisha your mother and Hasan and Huseyin your brothers?” “Yes, O Apostle of God, yes”.. The happy child rushed and joined the others. Wondering this rapid change, his friends asked: “What happened to you?” The orphan answered: “The Apostle of God became my father and Aisha my mother and Hasan and Huseyin my brothers”
  • 19. Enes, his helper tells about the Prophet “I joined Him in a young age and had been in His service for completely ten years. He never cursed me even once; He never hit me even once. He never got angry with me or blamed me for a mistake of mine or a duty I neglected or did not perform! He never said, ‘Why did you do this?’ or ‘Why did you not to do that?’ He never grimaced his face." DADDY, DADDY Before Islam, killing daughters was a common custom among Arabs. It was one of the social practices that Islam severely prohibited at once. A friend of the Prophet narrated how he applied that custom in the presence of the Prophet Muhammad as follows: “O Messenger of God! I buried my daughters with my own hands. Once, I took my daughter, who was about to be a young girl, by her hand. I walked as much as I could into the desert. We reached a dry well. I started to look into the well as if I was looking for something.” At that moment, the Prophet Muhammad started to cry. The man went on narrating: “Suddenly, I kicked her at the back. She started to roll down to the wellhead first, screaming, ‘Daddy, Daddy!’ The Prophet Muhammad started crying and, his friends had to intervene and silenced the man, taking him out of the mosque. Again another companion of the Prophet, Omer, was telling his story! “Before becoming Muslim, I remember two incidents that make me cry and smile. “The one that makes me cry is that I buried my own daughter alive. When I was digging her grave, she was cleaning the dirt off my beard with her small hands.” The Prophet and his companions could not bear it and started to cry. Omer continued, “The one that makes me laugh is that as we worshipped many gods, we were making gods out of sweet; We pray to it and when we are hungry we eat it.” WHEN THE PEOPLE OF TAIF WENT HUNGRY He besieged the city of Taif after the conquest of Makka. When the siege prolonged, people started to starve to death in Taif. He ended the siege, although the enemy was about to surrender. He was not in favor of capturing a city due to its people starving to death. The people from city of Taif, years ago, had stoned him and spat on him; Later the prophet expressed his feelings about this incident as 'the most bitter day of his life'. POORER THAN ME One of his friends committed a sin while he was fasting in the month of Ramadan. Then, he went to the presence of the Prophet Muhammad and asked him how he could be forgiven. The Prophet Muhammad said, “Can you free a slave?”
  • 20. He said, “No. I have no money.” The Prophet Muhammad asked, “Can you fast sixty days on end?” He said, “O Messenger of God. I am unable to fast it” The Prophet asked, “Can you feed sixty poor people?” He said, “I cannot afford it.” The Prophet said, “Then, stay with me and wait until God shows an easy way for you.” His friend started to wait in the mosque. After a while, a person from Madina brought a basket of dates as a present to the Prophet. The Prophet Muhammad gave the basket to his friend and said, “Take this basket and distribute the dates to the poor so that it will be atonement for your sin.” He said, “O Messenger of God! I do not know a family poorer than mine in Medina.” The Messenger of God started to smile and said, “Then, take it to your family and eat the dates together.” THE POWER OF GOD IS GREATER Somebody was beating his slave with a whip. The Prophet Muhammad silently came close from behind and called the beating person: “You should know that the power of God over you is greater than your power over this poor slave.” The master who was filled up with fear from head to foot shook and the whip fell on the ground from his hand. He turned to the Prophet Muhammad: “O the Apostle of God! Be the witness; I am freeing this slave”. PRAYER IN THE HOUSE OF A BLIND MAN One of his friends asked the Prophet to pray in his house because his eyes were almost blind. The next day, the Messenger of God prayed in the house of his blind friend together with his companion. Indeed, It is said that the Prophet Muhammad never replied with the word “No” to anyone who asked something from him. Even the Prophet Muhammad did not have what he was asked, he would find from somewhere else and give it to the person. HE BOUGHT IT FIRST One of his poor friends, Cabir, was newly married; he had financial difficulties. The Prophet Muhammad wanted to relieve him of his troubles but he did NOT want to offend him; he just asked Jabir what he owned. He said he had only had a weak camel. The Prophet Muhammad asked him to sell his camel to him. He paid for it when he returned to Madina. After buying it, the Prophet Muhammad gave the camel to Jabir as a wedding gift. The Prophet Muhammad also prayed to God for Jabir for a long time that night to give him happiness in the world and Hereafter.
  • 21. BEING PAINT AND TOLERANT Once when the Prophet was going home after talking to his Companions in the mosque, a man pulled him by the collar and said rudely: "O Muhammad! Give me my due! Load up my two camels! For you will load them up with neither your own wealth nor that of your father!" Without showing any sign of being offended, he told his companions: "Give him what he wants." Pulling the collar of the Prophet left a red mark on his neck. 3. His Intelligence and guidance SMART SOLUTION Before his Prophet hood, unbelievers were having a dispute about which tribe would place a holy stone in front of Kabe, the holy house of God in Islam. They could not agree on that. So they just vowed that the first person that entered the door of KABE would be their advisor whom they would ask his advice about their dispute. Then the Prophet Muhammad entered the door, and they were glad that it was the Prophet Muhammad because they had a complete trust him in any matter. The Prophet put a piece of cloth on the ground and put the stone on it. And he asked the leaders of each tribe to hold one of the corners of the cloth and carry it to its place. Thus the Prophet prevented a possible fight between the tribes. Divine minds and divine hearts always act in the divine path of God, which aims peace and harmony among people. IF YOU EAT IT, IT IS YOUR SUSTENANCE One of the Jews of Madina who had a piece of bread in his hand confronted the Prophet. Many Jews, Muslims and idolaters were around them. The Jew showed the bread to the Prophet and asked, “O Muhammad! Is this my sustenance?” It was a trap. If the Prophet Muhammad said,"Yes", he would not eat the bread and throw it away. If he said, "No", he would eat it; thus, he would refute what the Prophet would say and try to humiliate him. He wanted to prove that he is not a prophet because he does not know the answer. The Prophet Muhammad answered him without thinking much and said, “If you eat it, it will be your sustenance!”
  • 22. STOP LYING FIRST Once a man came to Prophet Muhammad and said, "O Messenger of God, I have many bad habits. Which one of them should I give up first?" Prophet Muhammad said, "Give up telling lies first and always speak the truth.” THE MASTER OF THE PEOPLE He was together with his friends in the mosque. A messenger from a foreign country rushed in. He had a diplomatic letter in his hand. The messenger who was a stranger and who did not know Madina and Muslims asked, “Who is the master of this people?” Meanwhile, The Prophet was standing and serving some food to his friends. When he heard the question of the messenger, he answered without thinking, “The master of people is the one that serves them.” 4. As A Teacher of the Souls, Minds and Hearts The Prophet was exceptional as a teacher and a pedagogue. He was addressing to people according to their level, status, age and personality. He was like jeweler who treated people regarding their value; He makes valueless people valuables ones and valuable ones more valuable through getting them know about God. To Islam, Humans get valuable once he acknowledges God as a creator. Shortly, his teaching was not a system of education that took only the human soul into consideration. He dealt with his people in terms of soul, mind, heart and all feelings; he brought about a very civilized society out of a wild tribe that buried their daughters alive. One of his distinguished Companion, said, "We used to drink blood, eat carcass, fornicate, steal, kill people and plunder. The strong used to oppress the weak; we used to commit many more disgraceful things before Islam.” The Importance He Gave to Literacy Some of the prisoners of the Battle of Badr could not afford to pay ransom to be freed but they could read and write. The Prophet told them that they would teach ten children of Muslims to read and write so that they could get released. Suffa School, first school in Islam Suffa School was an exceptional school that enabled the education of many scholars among the Companions. This school consisted of about 400-500 students that had no houses, families, goods, that is, nothing that could keep them busy with worldly affairs and they spent all of their time by learning from the Messenger of God. Their education was so important that the Prophet preferred meeting their needs to his family’s needs. The students educated there were sent to other tribes to teach Islam.
  • 23. Suffa students were the first students that were the nearest to the source of the religion and that attended assembly of the Messenger of God the most regularly. Their teachers were the Prophet and some scholars of the Companions. The people of Suffa took a high-level education very quickly. As a matter of fact, the Companions that narrated the most hadiths were generally among them. Women Students The educative aspect of the Messenger of God is an issue that can be evaluated in various aspects. While educating people spiritually, he also equipped them materially in a way to defeat most civilized nations. While educating the male Companions, he did not neglect the female Companions; he allocated a separate day for them to give them education. However, there is something very important to take into consideration here: The importance that the Messenger of God gave women took place in a period when women were not regarded as human beings and were bought and sold like goods and when girls were buried alive because their fathers were ashamed of them. The wives of Prophet took care of the education of the girls of the Companions. They taught the girl students that came to their houses. While making pace bridges between their tribes and their hearts soften toward Islam during exchange of counter-visits. And those girls taught what they had learnt to other girls. The wives of Prophet especially Blessed Aisa and Umme Salama and some other women contributed a lot to the education of women. The wives of the Messenger of God became first women teachers at the first school or university called as “the School of the Wives of the Prophet” This refutes one of the misunderstandings of Islam that “women cannot work.” Prophet did not discriminate between free people and slaves in terms of education. His following statement said, "There are two rewards for a person who educates a slave, trains him/her, frees him/her and marries him/her off." 5. Being clean Being clean and hygienic is a very important issue for Islam; They take a ablution five times a day before their prayer; Ablution includes washing hands, face, arms ears and feet. The Prophet was washing his hands before and after meals, and his mouth as well after meals warning the believers that germs can reside in their mouth and hands if they are not washed away. Unfortunately today, except Muslims from Turkey, are in general not good examples of true Islam or good followers of their prophet, Muhammed!
  • 24. LIKE THE DEVIL One of his companies entered the mosque. His hair and beard were intermingled. It became clear from the change of the facial expression of Muhammad that he did not like his friend’s appearance. Getting the message, his friend went out, had a haircut, trimmed his beard, cleaned himself and returned. He sat in front of the Prophet with an embarrassed smile. The Prophet Muhammad smiled, too. He said, "Is it not better like this instead of having the hair and beard intermingled like devil?" The Prophet had always a smiling face and advised his companions as well to have a smiling face; He said, “Smiling of a believer at another believer is a donation.” Once again the Prophet Muhammad saw a man with dirty clothes and he asked, “This person cannot find any water to wash his clothes?” The Prophet Muhammad once saw a man wearing worn-out clothes. He asked him, “Do you have money? How is your financial situation?” Upon the man’s reply that he is rich, he said, “Then, when God gave you prosperity, let it be seen on you!” (To appreciate HIS blessing) However, he did not like the persons who wear rich clothes to show their pride and vanity! He said, “In Judgment day, people cannot have anything valuable more than a beautiful personality and good moral values. God hates those who say bad words and commit bad deeds. The Prophet’s hair and beard were always clean and tidy. He wore clean and tidy clothes that matched in colour but would not bother others and draw their attention. He always had a nice divine smell on him. He advised Muslims to use good perfumes on themselves before they go to mosque. And He always smiled at people even he is sad inside. He says, A Muslim’s smile at another Muslim is a donation in the eyes of God. The Messenger advised quarantine to contain outbreaks of contagious diseases too: "If you hear that there is plague in a place, don't enter it; if plague breaks out where you are, don't leave it to escape from it.” He also declared: "Keep yourself away from the leper as you do from a lion. IT DO NOT DO AGAIN When he entered the mosque, he saw a newly converted Muslim blow his nose and threw the napkin on the ground. He cleaned the ground with his hand and picked up the napkin. And he said, “Do not do it again”
  • 25. 6. FURTHER REMARKS; UNDERSTANDING THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD BETTER! His Concern for Animals: YOU WILL GUARD THEM Once when he was leading his army, he saw a female dog that had just given birth to her babies. He called his friend and said, "You will stand in front of the mum and her babies. Guard and protect them from being crushed until the whole army pass by." THE ANIMAL WHICH IS UNABLE TO SPEAK One day while he was walking, he saw a lean camel whose belly had shrunk to its back because of not being fed well. He became sad and turned to its owner: “Fear God while tending this animal which is unable to speak. Once he told that God reproached an earlier Prophet for setting fire to a nest of ants. He tells a parable: "A prostitute was guided to truth by God and ultimately went to Paradise because she gave water to a dog dying of thirst. Another woman was sent to Hell because she left a cat to die of hunger." Once while returning from a military campaign, a few companions removed some young birds from their nest to stroke them. The mother bird came back and, not finding its babies, began to fly around screeching. When told of this, the messenger became upset and ordered his companions to put the birds back in the nest. When the Messenger saw a man sharpening his knife directly in front of the sheep to be slaughtered, he asked: "Do you want to kill it many times?" Suppression of Anger He is not strong and powerful, who wrestle people down, but he is strong who withholds himself from anger. He mentions about God’s mercy: "God is more loving and kinder than a mother toward her dear child." The Prophet Muhammad was kind and nice to everyone. He was showing affection to children, old people and those who are in need. He is a Prophet of compassionate, mercy and affection.
  • 26. CURSING OR BLESSING PROPHET? The Prophet Muhammad said, “I am not sent upon to curse on but I am sent upon the God’s,creations from living to non-living ones to have mercy on them” Once his companies requested him, “O the Prophet of God! Our power is not enough for the damages and fierceness of the Devs tribe. May You curse them and let them vanish. The prophet Muhammad opened His hands. Everybody was waiting for the curse to be said by the prophet. Instead, Prophet Muhammad prayed for Dews tribe, ; “ My God! Please show the Devs tribe the right way. Provide them to see the truth. He repeated this three times. Patience Once he was stoned by the children of Taif where he went for preaching Islam for at least 3 kilometers. He was bleeding all over. He was so sad and he prayed to God. Upon this the angel Gabriel came upon with other two angels and asked him if he wants them to be punished, but the prophet said, “May be his children in future will accept Islam.” He had such a kind hearth that he would not allow anyone to be hurt because of him. Jealousy The prophet Muhammad said, “Keep yourselves far from jealousy, because it finishes up and takes away your good deeds, like the same way a fire that burns up wood.” As the most trustable person, Muhammad, before Islam as well! God's Messenger was known as a truthful person even before Islam. The Makkans, even the unbelievers, called him as, the Trustworthy One, the Truthful one Even his enemies did not accuse him of lying after he proclaimed his Prophet hood. After the Treaty of Hudaybiye, God's Messenger sent his messengers with invitation letters to the rulers of neighboring countries. Letters were inviting them to Islam similar to Christian missionaries of today. The Emperor of Byzantium, Heraclius received it in Syria at a time when a Makkan trade caravan headed by Ebu Sufyan who was in the area of Damascus. Treating the slaves or dead enemies The prophet Muhammed never let anyone torture on the dead enemies to get revenge like cutting their parts of body, which was a war habit in those times or let the slaves to be tortured. Opposedly, he bought clothes or them and let them be free by ransom or in return for teaching on Muslim to read and write.
  • 27. His integrity Ebu Sufyan was the bitterest enemy of Islam at that time. The Emperor summoned him asked him the following questions: “Do you know who the man is; He claims that he is a Prophet! Does he have noble family?” He has a noble family! Did any of his ancestors claim prophet hood? No! Does he have any kings or emperors among his ancestors? No! Do the Elite or the weak mostly follow him? The weak Have you ever heard him lie? No What does he teach you? He tells us to worship to one GOD only, not to lie but tell the truth, to stay away from bad deeds, to treat each other kindly, to keep our promises and to pay our debts on time! Do his followers increase or decrease?
 They have been increasing daily!
Has he ever ever broken his promise? No The statements above prove clearly that even his enemies praised him and were sure of his integrity! So, what was holding the unbelievers back not to believe in the prophet Muhammad? Two words: Their pride and stubbornness; They were thinking that the prophet should be rich and be one of them in their social status. The idolaters knew very well that the prophet Muhammad known as a trustable person who never lied was telling the truth; They were calling him as Trustable. He was the prophet but they were having hard time admitting that he is a prophet. He was an orphan and he was a shepherd; so why did God choose him as a prophet? This question was boggling their stubborn minds. They couldn’t bear the truth that a shepherd could be the chosen one as a prophet! Indeed all the prophet had the same fate. They were always looked down by his enemies or belittled.
  • 28. HIS BALANCE BETWEEN THE WORLD AND AFTER LIFE The Messenger regarded himself as a traveler in this world. He said: "What connection do I have with this world? I am like a traveler who takes shade under a tree and then continues on his destination." He means that the world is like a tree under which people are shaded. No one can live forever, so people must prepare here for the second part of the journey, which will end either in Paradise or Hell depending on their good or bad deeds. The Prophet Muhammad is very much concerned about the Parents as well in the light of Qur’an that says, “Worship to God, and ascribe no partners to Him, and be good to the parents, and the relatives, and the orphans, and the poor, and the neighbor to next door, and the distant neighbor, and the close associate, and the traveler, and your servants. God does not love the arrogant and showoff people.” (Woman 36) “Your Lord has commanded that you worship none but Him, and that you be good to your parents. If either of them or both of them reach an old age with you, do not say to them a word of disrespect, nor scold them, but say to them kind words.” “And lower to them the wings of humility, out of mercy, and say, ‘My Lord, have mercy on them, the same way as they raised me when I was a child.” (Night journey 23 24) “We have entrusted the human being with the care of his parents. His mother carried him through hard times, weaning him in two years. So give thanks to Me, and to your parents. To Me is the destination.” (Luqman 14) The Prophet Muhammad’s sayings about Parents and neighbours . . His companion asked him, “Which of the good deeds are valuable in the presence of God? He said, “ Praying on time!” His companion asked, “What about after that?” The Prophet Muhammad said, “ Being good to your parents!” . One man came and asked the Prophet Muhammad, “Who is the one whom I am supposed to behave/care best?” The Prophet replied “Your mother.” . “The man asked again, “After her?” The Prophet replied “Your mother.” The man asked again, “After her?” The Prophet replied “Your mother.” The man asked again, “After her?” The prophet replied “Your Father.”
  • 29. “What I understand from the saying above is that mothers are more important than fathers; They may be more vulnerable and they suffer a lot to bear. Unfortunately today, Elderly Care Homes are full and we turn out to be a very busy generation forgetting about our parents and the idiom ‘What goes around comes around.’ ” The prophet Muhammad said,“The paradise lies at the feet of Mothers”Once he said, “Those shall be miserable. Those shall be miserable. Those shall be miserable.” His companions asked him, “Who are those?” The Prophet replied, “Those who could reach his one of his parents or both parents’ old times but fail to look after them will fail to enter the paradise”. This is very important because we live in such times that we isolate ourselves from our relatives especially from our parents; Seeing them at Christmas is not enough to repay them what they did for us when we were kids! The prophet Muhammad said, “The biggest misdeeds are”; To believe that God has a partner! To disobey and be against parents. To kill innocent people To lie under oath! To take away/grasp orphan’s money To slander virtuous women. The Prophet Muhammad’s sayings about Neighbours “The one who believes in God and Judgment Day should be good to his neighbor, should treat his guests and should say good things or say nothing!” “The one who fills his stomach while his neighbor is hungry is not one of us!” “When you prepare the broth, add water to that and give that as a treat to your neighbor. “The best friend in the sight of God is the one who is the well-wisher of his companions, and the best neighbour is the one who behaves best towards his neighbours. Closing I believe in my heart that Moses, Jesus Christ and Muhammed have been watching us from heaven and when they see that these major religion members have been clashing with each other, I believe that they must be so sad! We have no right to make them feel sad about us. We should give ourselves a wake-up call for a peaceful world.
  • 30. My prayer is that those days, where all humans embrace each other regardless of race religion and color, will come, and people will be united in a whole new world through raising a new golden generation who has no bad feelings in their hearts but just only love and respect, and continue to live in peace and harmony on the earth God granted us. A WHOLE NEW WORLD WITH A NEW GOLD GENERATION “Shall I not inform you of a better act than fasting, alms, and prayers? Making peace between one another: enmity and malice tear up heavenly rewards by the roots.” “There are two God’s blessings which most of people fail to value; One is health and the other is free time.” By Last Prophet Muhammad .
