portfolio competency psychology of play
1. What did I expect from Psychology of Play? I was unsure of what to expect to be honest.
I heard the name of the class and had no clue on what to expect but, I was far from
disappointed. The class clearly exceeded my expectations due to the fact I had none to start
with. Though after the first week I did have high expectations, and I will be honest the
instructors met my expectations but, I would recommend trying to liven up the material just a
little. I found myself occasionally being bored in the class and the material being dull, but for
roughly 95% of the time I thoroughly enjoyed the class and was awake and alert for it. My
biggest takeaway from this course was the lessons on how to eliminate anxiety. I have horrible
anxiety and usually can’t do much public speaking. Thanks to the courses and Brandon’s specific
advice I have been able to overcome some of my anxiety and I know if I continue using the
advice I will overcome it completely. I feel I have easily met a good majority of the standards of
this class due to maintaining an A throughout the month. I am especially proud of keeping an A
through a psychology course, seeing as in high school I had a hard time keeping a B let alone an
A through psychology. What I would do differently is take even more time on my assignments
to keep a 100 through the class. I did apply some skills from this class to my Creative
Presentation class. The skills from this class helped me get an A on my final project from
Creative Presentations. I believe that the skills I have learned from this class will help me to
maximize my potential throughout the rest of my time at Full Sail and I must say thank you to
Katie and Brandon for that!
