What
• To ensure that all relevant information in the USG’s possession, in particular to include the
Intelligence Community (IC), is brought to bear in vetting traveler/applicant programs;
• Become the one-stop shop to provide consolidated IC vetting support for US government
traveler/applicant vetting programs;
• Enable an expansion of vetting to additional national security threat actors, enable
advanced analytic capabilities, expand knowledge across the IC, and provide more
feedback to the IC on adjudication decisions.
How
• Develop a centralized vetting platform and community of practice;
• Drive towards more automation;
• Develop funding strategies for long-term sustainment and growth;
• Break stove-pipes and improve information sharing.
The NVC is not:
• A large, new facility with a large, new staff
• An entity empowered with new authorities for intelligence collection or adjudication
• Absorbing other entities such as the National Targeting Center or Terrorist Screening
