2. Instructional apps are becoming very popular
in classrooms all across the nation. These apps
let teachers embrace technology instead of
fighting it. The following slides will highlight
some of my favorite apps.
3. Kahoot
Interactive game where students use
cellphones to play.
The GetKahoot website makes it easy
to turn your class into a gameshow.
All you have to do is enter your
prepared questions and answers into
the site to create an instantly playable
game with a web browser.
Your students can then download the
Kahoot app to use as a buzzer to join in
on the fun.
4. Remind
Remind (formerly known as Remind
101) makes it easy for teachers to
communicate with students and their
parents beyond the classroom.
You can make class announcements,
group chats, or contact individuals
privately through the app.
Your messages can even be
translated into over 70 languages,
making it possible to communicate
with parents who are non-native
English speakers.
5. Classtree
This app helps to make
collecting parental consent
forms for students for field trips
easy and paperless.
Classtree lets you attach a
consent form for parents to e-
sign to go along with the
announcement.
The app even shows you
exactly who has seen your note
and who owes you a signed
form.
6. Additio
There is a better way of keeping
attendance, grades, and class notes
than in easily misplaced notebooks or
on random pieces of paper.
As a digital gradebook and classroom
management app, Additio lets you
take attendance, calculate grades,
and plan your timetable, all on your
mobile device.
For additional features, like
performance analytics and note-
keeping, you need to opt for the $8-
per-month Plus edition.
7. Educreations
Educreations is an interactive
whiteboard app that allows you to
create easy to follow tutorials for
students.
You can record audio to narrate
your actions as well, allowing you
to create diagrams, commentary,
simple animations, or instructions
with coupled audio covering any
topic.
Plus, you can share video via
email, Facebook, or Twitter in
addition to the classroom.
8. Quizlet

10. News-O-Matic, Daily Reading
for KidsNews-O-Matic is the daily
newspaper for kids on iOS and
Android, an exciting and engaging
nonfiction experience, and a
fantastic modern educational tool.
It gives young readers a window
into the world — and a reason to
love reading news for kids.
Whether the stories are about
India’s election, the World Cup, or
the moons of Saturn, they provide
students opportunities to make
connections in meaningful ways
and inspire children every day.
11. Study Blue

12. Grammaropolis
Grammaropolis is an app
that uses the parts of
speech as animated
characters starring in books,
songs, videos, and
interactive games.
The innovative, classroom-
proven approach blends
character-based content
with more traditional quiz-
based assessment and is
designed to address
students' varied learning
styles.
