This presentation is a simple and easy guide, that helps you create an efficient digital marketing strategy for your hotel in 7 simple steps. A practical guide by Konstantinos Mouratis, Digital Marketer and PR Manager at IP Digital.
2. Having or managing a hotel can be challenging
and very demanding as it is.
Add the digital revolution to that, where you
got to constantly put yourself out there and
promote everything you do and you got
yourself a headache.
But fear not, for I am here to show you how to
easily and simply create a solid digital
presence that can guarantee you a success, in 7
simple steps.
3. 1. Define your strengths
The first step that everyone seems to know and always
forget about.
Find out what is the one or two things that define your
hotel. Don't just think but ask!
Take advantage of your reviews on sites like
TripAdvisor and see what your customers are already
saying about you. It can vary from "nice view" to "near
center location" to "very kind hosts".
Choose a good side cause from now on, this could be your
front.
4. 2. Create a blog
Social Media posts about statuses are never enough.
People need to have a place where they can find
information about what you do besides your facebook
page.
Creating a blog and using it to upload rich content about
your hotel, its services, events, guests etc. is a great way
to gain traffic.
Define your writing style, the way you will address your
readers, personas and who is going to update.
Also don't be sloppy. Make sure the whole design
matches your hotel's colours and philosophy.
5. 3. Social Media
So you know what people like about you and pretty soon you are
going to have some content to show about it.
Now its time for you to see how to promote it. ENTER Social Media.
Create profiles to every network that you think relate to what you
do (the standard case is Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest,
g+).
There is no need to share the same posts in every network. i.e.
Work with beautiful view photos with instagram and recipes from
the hotel's chef with pinterest.
Never forget the Call-to-actions. Make sure that it's very easy for
everyone to find info about your hotel and instantly interact with
them.
6. 4. Plan Ahead
Keeping track of what you 've done so far and what you are
planning to do is in my personal opinion the most important step
of this process.
Create (or maybe find one, there are plenty of good tools out
there) an Editorial Calendar.
Import your initial plan of posts in there. After that look for local
events happening around your hotel and plan some posts about
them. This will draw visitors who want to attent those events
and looking for a place to stay.
The purpose of this step is to keep an active presence that will
increase your user engagement and keep you from making a
mistake of posting the same thing twice by accident.
7. 5. Create some viral content
Now viral may be a heavy word. Don't expect thousands
of people to start entering your blog out of a sudden.
However some posts are more successful than others.
That happens due to many factors so be sure to use all
the available tools.
A nice photo is usually the first thing that draws the
visitor's attention. But if you want to get more visual, a
video will definitely create better emotions. Moreover
good writing is also extremely important so if you don't
feel very Oscar Wilde-y it's best if you just hire a
professional writer.
8. 6. Create a Campaign
All the above are very good but unless your name is Hilton,
it's highly unlikely that everybody talks about you.
That is why you need to put your hotel on the map and make
everybody pay attention to you. This is where a campaign
with some good old(and new) marketing comes in.
A campaign can be something that promotes a seasonal
discount or a contest with a free two day stay in the hotel.
Simply anything that can have a wide reach and quick
effect in leads capturing.
9. 7. Use your leads
You made everything right and now you have a satisfying
number of leads.
Don't concentrate on likes and shares. You are trying to
make money and your success isn't measured in followers
but conversions.
Gather all the information you can get on your leads and
now it's time to make something of it.
Create promotional offers, informative newsletters and
anything that can make people say "WOW, I can't miss
this!" and start sending it to the people you thing they are
interested in them. Do some follow ups and then start again.
10. That's All Folks
Like i said promoting your hotel is not that hard but it needs
some attention to detail and some creativity. If you still think
you don't have the time or skills for that contact us at
