What do PRAs do?
PRAs... 1. Raise awareness 2. Get involved locally & nationally 3. Assist with training 4. Work with research staff 5. Advise 6. Interview panels 7. Review studies 8. Lay membership 9. Present / talk to SIGs 10. Be a resource for patients, carers & the public
Things I currently do... 1. Started raising awareness of invisible conditions through blogging about my lived experience 2. Invited to participate in research 3. Attend events about health research 4. Tweet and blog about health research 5. Speak at events with researchers & PRAs 6. Biomedical Research Centre PPI Core Group 7. Work with research staff on research study documentation for the public 8. OD&PL, Leeds Uni: digital practice for researchers 9. Becoming rheumatology PRA for Chapel Allerton
