Presentation covers the basic points behind "zines" in their print form, as authentic voice for a body of an archive. Thanks to Margarat Nee, Jenna Freedman, Milo Miller, Alison Piepmeier, Fales Library, SDSU Special Collections Zines & Mini-Comic Collection, all zines and zine creators I am representing here to talk about the importance of their work

3. The three most important reasons have to do with culture…
- Preservation of the thinking and artifacts of a
movement
- Providing access to publications that reflect a different
aspect of society, than the “norm”
- Invaluable educational tool, teaching people that it is easy
and rewarding to create media, not just consume it.

that is used as an extension of
human memory or to demonstrate
accountability.”

9. Archive of Record
pertaining to the collected “authority” on a particular
topics, aggregated primary source, having demonstrated
unique and managed control over content

10. As I have said elsewhere, the archive is a political and
cultural meaning making machine for the passage of
objects into what Michel Foucault calls knowledge’s field
of control and power’s sphere of intervention, and for
“minor” objects in particular, we know well how
