1. My fellow brothers in Islam… One of the most important thing in Syariah is to be a good and hardworking worker in this world. وَقُلِ اعْمَلُواْ فَسَيَرَى اللّهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَسَتُرَدُّونَ إِلَى عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ (9:105) 105. And say: "Work (righteousness): Soon will Allah observe your work, and His Messenger, and the Believers: Soon will ye be brought back to the knower of what is hidden and what is open: then will He show you the truth of all that ye did.”(The Repentance). 2. From this verse, Allah encourage Muslims to work hard in this world because the work will be seen by Allah and mankind. We can find many verses and hadiths related to this matter. It was narrated in one hadith that Prophet forbids His followers to be a beggar. For example; the man who sell woods is better than the man who frequently ask from others because Allah said that He will keep his or her secret frompublic. 3. According to history and Prophet’s lifetime, when He was young He was trained to be a hardworking and good business man. It was also mentioned by Imam Nawawi that previous prophets such as Prophet Dawood, worked very hard using his hand while Prophet Zakariawas known as a carpenter. 4. My fellow brothers in Islam… Nowadays, we can find many people that are not aware whether their work is blessed by Allah. They totally neglect matters pertaining to the Halal and Haram of his or her work. They focus on worldly matter and how to increase their income without considering the prohibitions. 5. The rich man become richer while the poor become poorer. The rich man always claim he or she become because of their effort. They forget that Allah is the Provider. My fellow brothers in Islam… Remember…remember what we promise in our five daily prayer towards Allah. We promise that our live and death is by Allah’s will. 6. How to get blessed for our works? Correct our intention. All deeds must be inline to Allah. The work must inline with Islamic Principle. It must be clear from any doubtful work. Allah Himself love the most beautiful and excellent work. He will not accept unless the work is done successfully. We must show that we are the best role model and hard worker. 7. We can not neglect our duty and responsibility towards Allah such as prayer, fasting, performing zakat and hajj. After working very hard, we must surrender the decision to Allah and let Him decide what is the best for us. Finally, my fellow brothers in Islam… Let us reflect all deeds we have done before and ask ourselves whether our work is in line with Islamic teaching.
