Mr. Kharl Vyncent Magbago
 A set of questions will be asked and you are
going to answer YES or NO.
If you answer YES, then you must stand up.
If you answer NO, then remain seated.
And prepare for a short explanation for your
answer
 What happened in 1986?
What were the Filipinos fighting for?
Why were the Filipinos against those injustices?
Are you free to live a happy and peaceful life if
crimes and injustices are happening everyday?
To define authentic freedom
To correct the misconception of freedom
To realize the correct expression of freedom
 1986
It was a drive for freedom from political oppression
and injustices.
In the country and anywhere in the world, people
clamor for freedom.
Jesus Christ brought the “message of freedom and a
force for liberation”
It is a call to love – a love that desires the well-being of
persons and frees one from slavery of sin.
To live the Gospel is to live and promote authentic
freedom.
For freedom is “an authentic sign of God’s presence
and purpose”
 Authentic Freedom is doing what is good.
It is in doing what is good and promoting the well-
being of others that one becomes truly free.
Evil enslaves; it damages and destroys. Evils is an
apparent good. It appears to be good, but it is not.
“Doing whatever one wants” makes one feel free
but one is not truly free.
Truth about Jesus Christ the Savior
Truths about the Church
And Truths about man and his dignity.
 Authentic Freedom is not found in prejudice, deceit, or
ignorance but in TRUTH.
 In Christ’s words, “the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)
Freedom is natural in very individual.
It is the absence of coercion, or constraint, in choice
or action.
It is also a right such as that of expression, political
views, and affiliation.
Freedom is of Divine Origin
It is being of God, for God, and with God.
God created human being free. Hence, if there is
one aspect of our humanity that God will not
interfere with, it is our free will or freedom of
choice.
Freedom is both personal and universal
Bearing in mind that equality of all peoples, an
individual who sincerely wants to achieve authentic
freedom must go beyond geographical confines to
seek common values of all humankind and adhere to
them.
Internal limitation (Interior) –internal limitation to
freedom bars a person from exercising freedom
because of disordered passions, fear, doubts,
ignorance, or negative dispositions or habits.
External limitation (Exterior) - external limitation
to freedom bars a person from exercising freedom
because of various forms like dominance, all forms of
oppression, violence, injustice.
- He believes that our lives are
determined by our actions, which
are themselves determined by
our choices, so how we make
those choices is critical to our
lives.
- Our “dizziness” shake us from
our unthinking responses by
making us more aware of the
available choices. In this way it
increases our self-awareness
Responsible freedom
By making choices, we are also
creating a template for how we think
a human life ought to be.
This means that freedom is the
greatest responsibility of all. We are
not just responsible for the impact
that our choices have upon
ourselves, but also for their impact on
the whole of mankind.
True or False
Instruction: ¼ sheet of paper
Identify if the statement is True or
False.
1. Authentic Freedom is a predetermined
principle in man.
2. One needs to be responsible of their
choices in life.
3. Freedom is a God given gift.
4. There are no pillars of freedom.
5. Authentic means true or genuine.
To define authentic freedom
To correct the misconception of freedom
To realize the correct expression of freedom
