media sites, email
marketing is still a vital
part of advertising for
an online business.
There are many
advantages to email
marketing, such as the
fact that it is relatively
inexpensive and can
reach a great number of
people.
However, effective email marketing takes
more than just sending out emails, you
must know how to shape, create and
structure your messages so that your
email marketing campaign hits the target.
What follows are a few simple email tips
that will help you get the most out of your
marketing campaign.
Make Unsubscribing Easy
This may seem silly that the very people you
are sending emails to should also be
presented with an easy, obvious way to
unsubscribe. But the truth is that having
such an obvious link actually can bolster
your brand by allowing readers to
unsubscribe easily. Plus, if they do
unsubscribe, then they probably were
never going to be customers in the first
place.

Effective email marketing is designed to lure
the reader into clicking on embedded links
that takes them to your website or landing
page. You'll want to include several good,
obvious links in every email that you send
so that potential customers will understand
what to click if they want to order your
product or service.
Just because the links are obvious doesn't
mean that they need to overwhelm the
reader. Remember that you can embed
links into the words of the email which is
especially effective if you are calling them
to action.
Keep it Clean of Images
Images take time to download and there are
many email programs that do not allow or
are simply not capable to displaying
images for their readers. So don't bother to
put them there in the first place and
instead focus on presenting a simple,
clean message. This will not only save you
space, it will save you time as well.
Update your Email Listings
Regularly
You will want to prune all email addresses
that have gone bad and check all of those
that are returned to you so that you can
insure that the formatting of their email
address was good. Plus, if you send out
too many emails with undeliverable
addresses, your email provider might flag
your attempts as spam.
Proofread Your Work

This is one step that is not done
often enough. Email messages
with too many spelling errors,
confusing sentences or
unusual structure will irritate
many on your contact list. First
and foremost, spell check your
work and read it over to see if
it makes sense. While you
may not catch every error, you
will catch enough that your
readers will enjoy what you
send them.
Send out Tests Before You
Email
It doesn't do your email marketing campaign
any good to have your work wind up in the
spam folder or having the layout break the
Outlook preview pane. So before you send
out the emails, send test emails to your
accounts under all the email providers. Make
sure it works for you before you send it out to
your customers.

First and foremost, spell check your work and read it over to see if it makes sense. While you may not catch every error, you will catch enough that your readers will enjoy what you send them.

So before you send out the emails, send test emails to your accounts under all the email providers. Make sure it works for you before you send it out to your customers.
