How did Christianity influence Martin Luther
       King’s non-violent fight against racism?
Parable of the Good Samaritan –
                                                                             Luke 10:25-37
                                                The first question
which the priest and Jesus taught that Christians
the Levite asked was: should love their neighbours and
"If I stop to help this that neighbour means people of
man, what will happen all races. Jews and Samaritans
to me?" But... the Good were different races who hated
Samaritan reversed each other. In the parable, Jesus
the question: "If I do taught that the Good Samaritan
not stop to help this treated the Jew who was
man, what will happen attacked as his neighbour, so
to him?" showing that Christians have to
treat people of every race as
That old law about their neighbour who they have to

the right thing. weapon,
                             cross which cuts
                                                             without
                                                             wounding
                                                             and ennobles
In Matthew 5:38-39 Jesus said: the man who
                                                             wields it. It
                                                             is a sword
You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, that heals.
and a tooth for a tooth.' But I tell you, do not
resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the
right cheek, turn to him the other also.
