Defence program priorities CEE • Poland: naval modernisation and missile defence, privatisation, restructuring and consolidation of defence sectors. • Romania: the country’s expertise in aeronautics is central to its defence program. The extension of maintenance and repair programs and overhaul activities for both civil and military programs are a priority. "We are supporting the renovation of the Fetesti Airport, we are co-financing the military base at Deveselu where elements of US ballistic missile defence will be installed and become operational in 2015”. Privatisation, restructuring and consolidation of defence sectors. • Czech Republic - defence industry is well-developed for military contractor companies. The key priority is military modernisation. • Slovakia – defence industry is well-developed for military contractor companies. The country intends to lease a new multirole combat aircraft, with possible acquisition of up to 12 aircrafts from 2017. In addition, the planned purchases include new medium-lift utility helicopters and two new turboprop freighters and armoured vehicles. • The Baltic States: upgrading the countries’ defence. Recent defence upgrade deals (purchase of anti-tank weapon, trucks, tanks, missile systems, off-road /combat vehicles) in total worth more than Eur 300 million (ca US $318.2 million).
