1ST DAY…..
INDRODUCATION
• In 1921, Pollachi was a tiny village, way too
modest compared to the bustling town it is today.
But it was here, P.Nachi muthu laid the foundation
for Sakthi group.
• It was in this year P. Nachi muthu broke away
from his traditional business of hiring bullock carts
and pioneered into passenger transport service.
From then on, there was no looking back.
FEATURES
• More than 35,000 acres of sugarcane available around
the factory supported by river and cannel irrigation.
• Optimal recovery of sugar from sugarcane i.e. more
than 10%.
• Secured national efficiency award for many years.
• Crushing in the unit-More than 8 months every year.
COMPANY PRODUCT
• L30 –This is the largest size sugar which is of third quality.
• M30- This is the middle size sugar which is of second quality taken to local
markets.
• S30- This is of very minute size (microns) sugar which is of first quality.
ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE COMPANY
• Lowest sugar losses.
• Highest standards of technical
efficiency
• Highest mill efficiency.
• Voluntary Health Service (S.M.R. Hospital) runs its own
100 bedded hospital for the needs of Employees and their
families, farmers and other local peoples.
CSR REPORTING
• If no amount is spent on CSR Activities, the reason for
not spending two per cent (2%) of the average net profit
shall be reported in the Boards’ Report.

separated from rest of the plant material through a process
known as refining.
• The basic process is Sugar cane must be crushed to extract
the juice.

• Sugar occurs in greatest quantities in sugarcane and sugar
beets from which it is separated for commercial use.
HUMAN RESOURCE AND WELFARE DEPARTMENT
PERSONNEL RECORDS
Personnel records of each employee are
maintained and updated accordingly. The
main purpose is to inform matters at times
of personnel emergencies and for company
HR department maintains these records
and information are kept confidentially.
Salary of the employees
The total number of the employee is
300.The regular employee is 260 and the
non regular employee is 40. The regular
employee gets salary of minimum 15000
per month and the maximum is 135000 per
year.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
• Sending some employee
to outside Training.
• Conducting in house
Training either by
company managers
inviting people from
outside.
• On the job training.
WELFARE MEASURES
• Transport facility
• Canteen facility
• Welfare facility
• Children education allowance
SAKTHI SCHOOL FACILITIES
• The school has 40 Teaching staff and nearly 1000
students, mostly children from the families of
employees of the company as well as from the
surrounding rural areas are been provided with
good education.
• The school has been consistently achieving 100 %
results in the SSLC examination every year since
2005.
SWOT ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS
• One of the largest white crystal sugar producers in India
• Its unit in Bhavani has out beaten many records in
performance.
WEAKNESS
• Demand for coal based power from electricity boards lower
than last year hence plant not operating at full capacity and
power sector not as profitable.
• Volatility in sugarcane prices and limited brand awareness
OPPORTUNITIES
• Huge potential to increase the productivity of cane and sugar
recovery rate by improving technology more.
• opportunities in terms of export to new emerging markets
THREATS
• Cheap sugar imports are harming the sugar mills in India.
• Fall in the sugar prices in both international and domestic
markets.
