In the match between Puducherry and Odisha on November 09, 2021, Puducherry put up an
impressive performance to secure a six-wicket victory. Puducherry Lead By Skipper Rohit
Damodaran.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Puducherry restricted Odisha to a total of 132-7 in
their allotted 20 overs. Suboth Bhati was the standout bowler for Puducherry, picking up four
wickets for just 27 runs in his four overs, while Bharat Sharma and Sagar Udeshi also chipped in with
two and one wicket, respectively.
In response, Puducherry got off to a shaky start, losing opener Suboth Bhati for a duck in the first
over. However, Ragupathy and Damodaren Rohit steadied the ship with a 36-run partnership for the
second wicket. After Rohit's dismissal, Ragupathy continued to anchor the innings, scoring 39 runs
off 37 balls, including five boundaries and one six.
Puducherry suffered another setback when Ragupathy was dismissed in the 11th over, with the
score at 71-3. However, Paras Dogra and Sagar Trivedi combined to take the team home, with Dogra
finishing unbeaten on 54 off 44 balls, including two fours and four sixes.
Puducherry's victory was particularly impressive considering they had lost their previous two
matches in the tournament. The team's bowlers were able to keep Odisha's scoring rate in check,
while their batsmen displayed good composure and skill to chase down the target without too much
trouble.
Overall, it was a well-rounded performance from Puducherry, with contributions from several
players in both the bowling and batting departments. The win should give the team confidence as
they continue their campaign in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
