(MEDICAL COLLEGE PROFILE)
Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College is the vision of Dr. C.K. Mohan,
Chairman, KV Education Trust to provide effective health care to the people of
weaker section and to provide homoeopathic education thereby mould
homoeopaths to propagate homoeopathy and homoeopathic practices.
It was established in the year 2000 under a unit of K.V. Education Trust which was
founded by K.V. Krishnan Nair, father of Dr. C.K. Mohan , approved by the
Government of Tamil Nadu and affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical
University.
At present, college offers BHMS with 100 seats and M.D (Hom.) in five
specialities with 30 seats annual intake.
The curriculum of both UG and PG courses are well integrated by the 13 teaching
departments and the collegiate hospital. Besides the teaching department, the
institution made linkage and signed to MoU with Government and non-
government organizations to provide wide exposure to the students on clinical
teaching and extension activities.
HOSPITAL PROFILE
 Sarada Krishna Homeopathic Medical College
Hospital was established in the year 2000, located in
the sylvan, serene environs of Kulasekharam town in
Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu.
 The hospital has two departments namely In patient
department and Out patient department.
 The average daily Out Patient Department intake is
365 patients and In Patient Department stay is 65
patients.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
 To gain knowledge about different departments in the organization and
about the functions they perform.
 To understand the working environment within the organization.
 To know and understand the vision and mission of the organization.
 To study the overall performance of the organization.
Sarada Krishna Homeopathic Medical College is owned by the unit of the
K.V. Education Trust which was founded by late K.V. Krishnan Nair, father of
Dr. C.K. Mohan.
REGISTRATION
 SARADA KRISHNA HOMEOPATHIC MEDICAL COLLEGE was registered under the Trust Act of India in 1882 with Regd.
No.132/97, functioning at Door No.21/41-B, Cheruppaloor P.O, Kulasekharam, Kanyakumari dist, Tamil Nadu.
 The institution got registration from the Drugs Controller General of India in AYUSH sector at national level.
 The Collegiate hospital got certificate of Registration of Clinical Establishment and issued the competent authority
under the provisions of the TN Clinical Establishment Act 1997 to provide services under Homeopathy systems of
medicines with 100 beds.
SOURCES OF FINANCE
Being a self-financing Institution, there is no source of grants-in aid from the government.
Hence major source of Institution income is student fees collected and the revenue from patients for
making this expenses. There is a Head Accountant to look into the Accounts. All monetary
transactions including payment of fees are done in the cash counter to ensure transparency in all
transactions.

• Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital has a principle of open competition in its
approach to recruitment and will seek to recruit the best candidates for job based on merit.

Sarada Krishna Homeopathic Medical College Hospital currently consists of 210 employees including,
• Teaching staff and Doctors – 64,
• Non – teaching staff – 146( Administrative – 50 ; Hospital staffs– 72 ; Mess, hostel – 24)

B.H.M.S. PROGRAMME
The total duration of the BACHELOR OF HOMEOPATHIC MEDICINE AND SURGERY PROGRAMME is 5 ½
years including one year internship after passing the final B.H.M.S. examination.
M.D. (Hom.) PROGRAMME
Ph. D PROGRAMME
DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY
The Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is awarded to a candidate, who, as per the regulations, has submitted a
thesis on the basis of original research work done by him / her in any particular discipline or more than one discipline
(Inter disciplinary).

SERVICES OFFERED BY SKHMC HOSPITAL
The institution has a well-equipped hospital providing the medical care to the patients
in OPD’s and IPD’s. Hospital have the indoor care for the patient having 100 beds
capacity. Patients suffering from the diseases are admitted for the curative purposes in
the IPD’s as well as for clinical training to the UG and PG students.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Uniform care to all patients is provided in all the settings of the hospital and is
guided by applicable laws, regulations and guidelines. Appropriate policies and
procedures are in practice for homoeopathic case management.

Average number of out patients visiting the college hospital in a day is around 365.
IPD (IN- PATIENT DEPARTMENT)
• The In - patient Department commences when the
patient is being registered and allotted a bed in the
ward.
• IPD also plays a substantial role in imparting sound
clinical education to the students and interns.
• The 100 bedded IPD is sorted into,

Paediatric ward – 1
Isolation ward – 1
Observation ward – 1
Special wards – 16 including Operative theatre, ICU,
Labor room.
Average In Patient per day is about 65.
Along with the services SKHMC HOSPITAL also provides certain facilities

Sarada Krishna Homeopathic Medical College Hospital have no channel of distribution as
the organization directly render service to the patients.
ADVERTISEMENT
Sarada Krishna Homeopathic Medical College do their advertisement through medias
such as Facebook, Magazines, Journal, Outdoor ads, websites and conducting medical
camps in schools, rural areas etc. In addition , SKHMC undertakes their promotional
activities by conducting seminars and health awareness programmes like medical
exhibitions, observance of health related days, blood donor’s forum etc.

 Management implements various initiatives in the campus with foresight to enhance skills and techniques of the budding
Homoeopaths and propagation of Homoeopathy to every nook and corner.
 Beautifully maintained plastic free green campus with Herbal Garden containing more Ayurvedic medicinal plants.
 Better Patient care services.
 Well equipped 100 bedded hospital with 28 Out-Patient department units including specialty clinic.
 There is a good follow-up of well defined rules and regulations inside the campus.
 Patients from another states are visiting the hospital for treatment.
 There is a very good relationship between the workers, management and patients.
 Absence of emergency care for road traffic accidents.
 Patient have to wait for a long time.
 Less number of rest rooms for hospital staffs.
 Less number of UG and PG seats.
 Committed and experienced teaching faculty on imparting homoeopathic knowledge and skill.
SUGGESTIONS
 Providing effective and timely communication to patients.
 Hiring or allotting some doctors may help to reduce waiting time of patients.
 Recruiting Ph. D qualified faculty in different departments.
 Increasing more number of facilities for hospital staffs.
 The hospital can create facilities for treating emergency cases.
 Organizing more number of continuous education programmes for the faculties.
 Enhance UG & PG seats.
 Creating proper awareness among the public on Homeopathic system of medicine.
CONCLUSION
• In today's world, the usage of Homoeopathy and it's products are growing rapidly. The introduction of
homoeopathy as compared to the conventional medication, the doses of Homoeopathic medicines have
sub physiological presence of the source substance, as a result of which, there are no toxicological effects of
the remedies. Hence, there are no side effects or structural damages to the organs. Homoeopathy is safe
and better.
• The organization is mainly focusing on introducing new doctors of Homoeopathy and render valuable
services for the patients.
• The study helped me to learn about the functions and activities handled by the organization. Not only about
the functions of the organization, but also, I got an opportunity to examine the various sections in handling
the patients.

  • 2. ORGANIZATION PROFILE (MEDICAL COLLEGE PROFILE) Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College is the vision of Dr. C.K. Mohan, Chairman, KV Education Trust to provide effective health care to the people of weaker section and to provide homoeopathic education thereby mould homoeopaths to propagate homoeopathy and homoeopathic practices. It was established in the year 2000 under a unit of K.V. Education Trust which was founded by K.V. Krishnan Nair, father of Dr. C.K. Mohan , approved by the Government of Tamil Nadu and affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. At present, college offers BHMS with 100 seats and M.D (Hom.) in five specialities with 30 seats annual intake. The curriculum of both UG and PG courses are well integrated by the 13 teaching departments and the collegiate hospital. Besides the teaching department, the institution made linkage and signed to MoU with Government and non- government organizations to provide wide exposure to the students on clinical teaching and extension activities.

HOSPITAL PROFILE  Sarada Krishna Homeopathic Medical College Hospital was established in the year 2000, located in the sylvan, serene environs of Kulasekharam town in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu.  The hospital has two departments namely In patient department and Out patient department.  The average daily Out Patient Department intake is 365 patients and In Patient Department stay is 65 patients.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY  To gain knowledge about different departments in the organization and about the functions they perform.  To understand the working environment within the organization.  To know and understand the vision and mission of the organization.  To study the overall performance of the organization. Sarada Krishna Homeopathic Medical College is owned by the unit of the K.V. Education Trust which was founded by late K.V. Krishnan Nair, father of Dr. C.K. Mohan.
  • 5. REGISTRATION  SARADA KRISHNA HOMEOPATHIC MEDICAL COLLEGE was registered under the Trust Act of India in 1882 with Regd. No.132/97, functioning at Door No.21/41-B, Cheruppaloor P.O, Kulasekharam, Kanyakumari dist, Tamil Nadu.  The institution got registration from the Drugs Controller General of India in AYUSH sector at national level.  The Collegiate hospital got certificate of Registration of Clinical Establishment and issued the competent authority under the provisions of the TN Clinical Establishment Act 1997 to provide services under Homeopathy systems of medicines with 100 beds.
  • 6. SOURCES OF FINANCE Being a self-financing Institution, there is no source of grants-in aid from the government. Hence major source of Institution income is student fees collected and the revenue from patients for making this expenses. There is a Head Accountant to look into the Accounts. All monetary transactions including payment of fees are done in the cash counter to ensure transparency in all transactions.

HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT • Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital has a principle of open competition in its approach to recruitment and will seek to recruit the best candidates for job based on merit. NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES Sarada Krishna Homeopathic Medical College Hospital currently consists of 210 employees including, • Teaching staff and Doctors – 64, • Non – teaching staff – 146( Administrative – 50 ; Hospital staffs– 72 ; Mess, hostel – 24)

  • 12. SERVICES OFFERED BY SKHMC HOSPITAL The institution has a well-equipped hospital providing the medical care to the patients in OPD’s and IPD’s. Hospital have the indoor care for the patient having 100 beds capacity. Patients suffering from the diseases are admitted for the curative purposes in the IPD’s as well as for clinical training to the UG and PG students. SCOPE OF SERVICES Uniform care to all patients is provided in all the settings of the hospital and is guided by applicable laws, regulations and guidelines. Appropriate policies and procedures are in practice for homoeopathic case management.

Average number of out patients visiting the college hospital in a day is around 365.

IPD (IN- PATIENT DEPARTMENT) • The In - patient Department commences when the patient is being registered and allotted a bed in the ward. • IPD also plays a substantial role in imparting sound clinical education to the students and interns. • The 100 bedded IPD is sorted into, Female wards -6 Male wards - 5 Paediatric ward – 1 Isolation ward – 1 Observation ward – 1 Special wards – 16 including Operative theatre, ICU, Labor room. Average In Patient per day is about 65.

CHANNELS OF DISTRIBUTION Sarada Krishna Homeopathic Medical College Hospital have no channel of distribution as the organization directly render service to the patients. ADVERTISEMENT Sarada Krishna Homeopathic Medical College do their advertisement through medias such as Facebook, Magazines, Journal, Outdoor ads, websites and conducting medical camps in schools, rural areas etc. In addition , SKHMC undertakes their promotional activities by conducting seminars and health awareness programmes like medical exhibitions, observance of health related days, blood donor’s forum etc.

FINDINGS  Management implements various initiatives in the campus with foresight to enhance skills and techniques of the budding Homoeopaths and propagation of Homoeopathy to every nook and corner.  Beautifully maintained plastic free green campus with Herbal Garden containing more Ayurvedic medicinal plants.  Better Patient care services.  Well equipped 100 bedded hospital with 28 Out-Patient department units including specialty clinic.  There is a good follow-up of well defined rules and regulations inside the campus.  Patients from another states are visiting the hospital for treatment.  There is a very good relationship between the workers, management and patients.  Absence of emergency care for road traffic accidents.  Patient have to wait for a long time.  Less number of rest rooms for hospital staffs.  Less number of UG and PG seats.  Committed and experienced teaching faculty on imparting homoeopathic knowledge and skill.
  • 20. SUGGESTIONS  Providing effective and timely communication to patients.  Hiring or allotting some doctors may help to reduce waiting time of patients.  Recruiting Ph. D qualified faculty in different departments.  Increasing more number of facilities for hospital staffs.  The hospital can create facilities for treating emergency cases.  Organizing more number of continuous education programmes for the faculties.  Enhance UG & PG seats.  Creating proper awareness among the public on Homeopathic system of medicine.
  • 21. CONCLUSION • In today's world, the usage of Homoeopathy and it's products are growing rapidly. The introduction of homoeopathy as compared to the conventional medication, the doses of Homoeopathic medicines have sub physiological presence of the source substance, as a result of which, there are no toxicological effects of the remedies. Hence, there are no side effects or structural damages to the organs. Homoeopathy is safe and better. • The organization is mainly focusing on introducing new doctors of Homoeopathy and render valuable services for the patients. • The study helped me to learn about the functions and activities handled by the organization. Not only about the functions of the organization, but also, I got an opportunity to examine the various sections in handling the patients. •
