learning outcomes should be good and improving, to identify as developing. Enrollment increase. Basic
infrastructure should be as required – wall, ground, lab, classrooms, and in a good condition. Students are
happy with good infrastructure.
Parents – school relationship must be good. Parents do not come to school. Good and creative teachers. Good
teaching methods.
Many events in school – cultural events students enjoy and learn. (teachers song on population). Chess/sports.
Focus only on physical infrastructure and sslc results is narrow, school development need to broader and
holistic.
. ?
Documentation needs to improve. Government schools need to improve here. Need to create greater
awareness of school’s work. Sdmc decisions to publicised, school work/events to be publicised. This will
evidence school development
enrollment, attendance, results need to be public.  need to publicise school work

HM, teachers, SDMC, parents, donors, past students, students associations, department officers, local
community.  Current students. Teacher community, non teaching staff Mutual understanding needs to be
continuouos paraspara.
HM needs to be active ‘managing by wandering about’ (MBWA)
Teachers HMs interactions not so good
teachers groups affects overall cooperation (subject, subject group. Gender)
department pressure high – CCE,
student integrity reducting.
(elementary has been damaged by nali kali) not enabling writing skills.
Failed students making part of school will create problems
department creates problems
inadequate infrastructure – toilets maintenance. Security guard. Peons. Maintenance expenditure.
Some teachers dedication and cooperation not enough. (teacher manobhava? Koushalya?)
teacher training should be based on her needs and also local (school based training)
officers are not supportive not appreciative. Look down on HMs and teachers.
RTE is leading to students going to private schools
SUJATHA MADAM GROUP
. ?
Students confident of facing world. Self confidence. Multilingual. Respectful of elders and teachers.
Mass media influence
. ?
Different schools, different kinds of teachers. Sometimes groups form. HM is ‘sitting on a stove’ which can
be lit anytime. HMs job is proactively ensuring stove is cold/wet. Need the cooperation of teachers. At
beginning itself, make a clear plan and allot roles to teachers – makes simple working. Teachers cool and
calm working needed
. ?
HM and teacher    need to work with mutual understanding   . Monthly /regularly staff meeting required for
work review. This ‘recognizes’ the teacher. Also involve parents, local donors/supporters.
. ?
Involve other stakeholders – donors, corporators, sdmc. Sdmc may not be very helpful but they are needed.
Department support will help. Hm and staff cooperation can help improve school culture. Each schools
culture is unique.
Needs positive approach from HM, teachers, students. ‘not possible’ feeling not helpful. Instead feel that ‘lets
try again’. Cant change in short time. Needs to be done as a ‘continuous and comprehensive process.’
HM needs to be a role model, so that teachers and students can follow. (clothes HM wears,personal effects).
HM must take lead in doing tasks.
