Executive Director and Supervisor's recommendation

I am writing to recommend Karen Lanter. She is a capable and talented professional able
to establish goals and put steps in place to achieve them. I had the pleasure of
supervising Karen at the Center for more than a year. During this time, I witnessed her
grasping concepts quickly. She was able to address issues that improved our
organization’s functioning. She has a lot of energy, above average intelligence and very
strong writing skills. Her work assisted the Center’s financial stability.
Her departure was a loss. Her grant writing, ability to cultivate volunteers and
understand and articulate issues to others are outstanding. She explained the Center’s
mission with passion, and put together an updated and sorely needed case statement to
help us describe our work to not only our donors, but also to prospects. She identified
major gift prospects, worked with me to cultivate them and they are now contributors.
In addition to the ability to think quickly, speak very well and write compellingly, she is a
great asset on a committee seeking to address any problem. She brought fresh ideas
and the ability to secure buy-in to solutions that benefited not only the Center but, in
many cases, other stakeholder organizations.
She is a sensitive woman of integrity. Her genuine belief in mission is evident in her
