  23. Great Britain vs USA...again 66. Pres Jefferson tried an embargo: refused to send goods to Europe 67. Embargo hurt US more than France & GB 68. Natives in the US had British guns they got in Canada: War Hawks (Congressmen) wanted to fight Great Britain
  24. Great Britain vs USA...again 69. Shawnee in the Indiana/Ohio area fought US at Battle of Tippecanoe 70. Shawnee lost but helped British in the War of 1812 71. US declared war on Great Britain in 1812
  25. Great Britain vs USA...again 72. US not very good: lost in Canada 73. US Navy did well until the Big British navy blockaded the entire East Coast 74. In 1814, Great Britain burned down Washington D.C.
  26. Great Britain vs USA...again 75. Andrew Jackson defeated the Creek Natives and the British at the Battle of New Orleans 76. No real reason to fight, Treaty of Ghent was signed: armistice = just stop fighting 1814
  27. Great Britain vs USA...again 77. 49th parallel b/c border b/t Louisiana Territory and Canada 78. Open trade b/t US and Great Britain 79. Both has access to Oregon Territory for a couple of years 80. National Anthem: “The Star Spangled Banner” was written by Francis Scott Key when Great Britain attacked Washington D.C.
