WELCOMETOTHEMOUNTAINTOP2016 STYLESHEET!!
If you’ve done any designing at all for Mountain Top in the past, then you know all about the scary
STYLESHEET!! So I’ll keep this short and to the point. But it’s not really that bad. It just
helps keep everything neat and together-some and awesome-ness-packed. All the
logos and graphic elements have been designed, the fonts are picked out, and all
the colors are chosen (there are a lot of them this year!) We’ll go through all the assets and then
lay the ground rules at the end.
Ok. Sound good? Then grab your hat cowboy (or cowgirl) and kick those metaphorical horses into
high gear!
DUN, DUN,

The title for this year’s Mountain Top is called:
The overall feels for the style is sort of a hipster-slash-western-slash-whimsical-slash-neurotic-
slash-barnyard-joyride-in-the-twenty-first-century type of thing.
First things first, let me introduce you to Rupert, our mascot and our herald, the unyielding
messenger to all who would listen, the wild and free-spirited hipster rooster ......

MOUNTAINTOPLOGO
Of course, we gotta start with the Mountain Top Logo. You’ve all seen it: the ‘m’-’t’-
slash-two-mountain-peaks-slash-youthful-vigor-swoop-YEAH! There are three different
variants, and all are available for use. .AI, .EPS and .PNG formats are available (EPS is better ‘cuz
it’s a vector format and you can resize without losing quality and can also change the color.
AI files are for Adobe Illustrator users.)

Rupert doesn’t always need a
circle to be awesome..
Or perhaps a lone
silhouette against
an evening sky ...
Rupert is always calling,
but we caught him mid-
crow here.
Time to REPRESENT!

fonts
This font is used only for the “Awaken” title. In fact, it’s not even a font, but a hand-
drawn graphic. You can switch to solid colors if you want, but for a variety of colors, use
the colored version available. It usually looks best centered, but whatever best fits your
situation.
M O U N T A I N T O P
As always, use the Nexa Light font for the Mountain Top title. Turn on CAPS LOCK and maybe add
some character spacing (tracking) for that added modern look.

PARAGRAPH FONT
For your every day usage, use Dosis, which
comes in seven different variants:
ExtraLight, Light, Regular, Medium, SemiBold,
Bold, & ExtraBold
Unfortunately, there is no italicized version. So
sad. InDesign users can easily add a tilt to any font,
but for everyone, you’re kind of out of luck. So get
creative with the thickness and the colors.
It’s also a registered Google font in case you
want to use it on the web!
One really cool thing about this font is the
alternate characters and the ligatures. You can fool
around with different ways of typing
gigantic or ruralor
even Subaquatic
Ligatures are cool glyphs that happen when you
enter in certain character combinations such as fi

For big titles, use the font Asfalto Regular or Asfalto Italic. To add that retro / hipster effect, copy a
whole bunch of rooster silhouettes and line them up on either side of the title. For whatever reason, I
find that an odd number of roosters looks better than an even number. Don’t ask me why. Rock that
hipster rooster!!
HEADINGS
For smaller headings that aren’t titles, use the font (get this) MUCHACHO. Isn’t that a sweet name??
Ahh, it’s so western looking. But be sure to WRITE ALL IN CAPS, or the font won’t show up. It’s an
all-caps kind of a font. In addition, it’s also missing a few symbols. But it just looks so hip. Just use an
accent color which will help to spice things up.
SIDE NOTES AND FLAGS
For those quirky side notes or small headers or footers, or just general comments, use the oh, so
trendy, Hashtagfont. Only one variant here to choose from.

Colors, colors, colors. This year, go crazy with colors. Basically every color that Rupert is made out of
is available for use. Below I’ve tried to categorize them, but for the most part, if the colors works, use it!

The ground rules are mostly just good ol’ common sense. Follow the ground rules and you’ll be good
to go.

No matter what, make sure that there is an MT logo (any variant) somewhere – either as a
watermark, off to the side, as an overlay – however you want. Gotta represent, ya know?

And that’s literally it. All of you guys and gals know what to do, so there’s really no need for futher
explanation. In the famous words of Huggy Bear, “I lay it out ... for you to play it out.”
