LOS RASGOS DE PERSONALIDAD SE ENTIENDEN COMO ESQUEMAS COGNITIVOS DE UN ORDEN JERÁRQUICO SUPERIOR A LOS OTROS ESQUEMAS (BECK ET AL., 2004). DADA LA INTERDEPENDENCIA DE LOS COMPONENTES SE CONSIDERA QUE AL ELEGIR CUALQUIER PUNTO DEL SISTEMA PARA LA INTERVENCIÓN, SE PRODUCIRÍAN RESULTADOS TANTO COGNOSCITIVOS COMO COMPORTAMENTALES Y PSICODINÁMICOS (MILLON Y DAVIS, 2000).
BASADOS EN ESTOS PLANTEAMIENTOS, EN ESTA INVESTIGACIÓN SE HA ELEGIDO LA INTERVENCIÓN PREVENTIVA A TRAVÉS DEL DESARROLLO DEL PENSAMIENTO CRÍTICO Y LA PRÁCTICA SOCRÁTICA, PARA DEBILITAR LAS DISTORSIONES COGNITIVAS Y SOBREGENERALIZADAS QUE PERPETÚAN PATRONES DISFUNCIONALES Y REACTIVAN LOS SÍNTOMAS PATOLÓGICOS (BECK Y ALFORD, 2009).
