Final Proposal / detailed outline of production
The idea for my production is to have a brand launch for the company that I have created
โ€˜Classified LDNโ€™. I intend on getting stock of the first batch of t-shirts and then creating an
advert for a magazine of a model wearing the t-shirt to co inside with the release of the
product.
The 50 items will cost ยฃ229.80 then selling each t-shirt for ยฃ20 each will mean I get ยฃ1000
which results in a ยฃ771.20 profit on the first order if the demand is big the next order would
be on a bigger scale increasing profit margins. The next stage would be expanding the
brands clothing line by adding different t-shirt designs, hoodies and hats.
I have had to deal with 3 different clients;
I have managed the product by dealing with different clients who will be doing different jobs
for the release of the product. I have been liaising with the merchandising company by
sending them the logo designs, receiving the costs for this and organising the order of the
product.
Another client was the graphic designer who was the initial person who I needed to use as I
could not move further without the brand name, I told him how I wanted to portray the
product which was to have the classified section looking smart and then LDN to have an
urban feel to it which is best matched by graffiti other than that I gave him freedom with
what to do with the design and keep coming back to me with different designs, This costing
ยฃ300
The photographer is needed for more than just one reason as in the initial email that he
sent he said that he could sort out a model and someone to do hair and make up for the
shoot as well all this was organised for after the merchandise was received

Contingency / back up plans
After the product is received i have a couple of days where I have time to do the photo
shoot so if the photographer cannot do one day there are other days it can be done.
Everything else is under control in the production stage.
The order did not come in time for the photoshoot so an intial copy of how the t-shirt was
going to look was made, it still had the same design it was just not embroidered which was
how it was going to come in the order, it was an iron on transfer instead.
Production management (Detail how you managed each stage)
Managing the pre-production roles
The pre production roles where tasks which could all be taken out by myself which got rid of
the difficulty of relying on other people besides getting the logo designed which did not
restrict me from coming to the conclusion of the type of t-shirt and colour I wanted to use.
Looking into the market was one of the main jobs I took on making sure I understood the
price bracket I wanted to put my product in compared to other brands I wanted to be on the
same level as others using the demographics they go for to use for my own.
Managing the production phase
Production consists of making sure that the things I need are ready for deadlines so I can get
the magazine insert made in time to be entered in the magazine. If everything was planned
correctly which I feel it was things would come in time leaving me a day or two to prepare
for the next stage. For example to t-shirts arrive then two days after the photo shoot would
be then followed by the editing, then to be ready by the end of the week.
The thing which I had to rely on the most was making sure that the distribution company
were going to deliver the t-shirts but the conversations I had been having with the company
were frequent and were waiting on the payment of the order before they started the
process, this could not be done until after the proposal and if I had received money for my
project.
Post production phase
The photographer was organised for the 23rd
June to be at the location for 10am along with
the model and I would meet them there to give the product to the model and to direct the
photographer with what I wanted them to do and looking a the images as the shoot carried
on.
After receiving the images I chose the best one and began to edit it on PhotoShop and
Pixelmator so it would be ready for the publication. The poster was made so that it was of
A4 size as that is the size of paper FHM use in their magazine.
The main priority of this stage was making sure that everyone was at the photo shoot
location at the right time.
Detail how you solved problems
Originally I planned on using a certain brand of clothing to print the t-shirts on but it proved
a difficulty because I would have had to order the t-shirts then using a separate source get
them screen printed which wouldnโ€™t of been cost efficient so I found a company who deal
with the distribution of bulk t-shirts and getting the design on the t-shirts which then again
resulted in a better quality product as I could have it embroidered instead of screen printed.
Another issue I had was with fonts, a font that I had initially found to use I couldnโ€™t as the
person who created the font said that it could not be used for commercial use. To solve this
I found a font that did not have this restriction on it.
The merchandising company emailed and said that the order would not make in time for the
photoshoot which I had spoken to them about the items needing to be here for so to keep
the photo shoot still on I made a draft copy of the t-shirt using iron on transfer paper to
make a t-shirt for the model to wear.
Prioritising (How and what did you prioritise during your producing)
Things could only be done in a certain order which meant I had to organise one thing before
I could sort the next, Initially I had to get the logo designs from the graphic designer before I
could start designing the t-shirt and finalising it. Once I had finalised what I would like the t-
shirt would be like that allowed me to be able to send the designs to a t-shirt distribution
company, at the same time I could start conversations with the photographer. Speaking to
the photographer prior to even making the order was a good idea because then we could
negotiate process and make it clear that the job was there. Once the order had been made I
had a rough estimate on how long it would take for the t-shirts to arrive then allowing me to
arrange a date to do the photo shoot. Once this was done I could then I did not have to rely
on anyone else but myself because I was controlling the manipulation of the images.
Modifications (Why did you modify your work and what was changed during post-
production)
The reason I had to change the post production stage was because the distribution company
could not provide the product on time and I still needed to do the photos hoot in time for
the magazine to release it in their next issue so even though the product does not have the
logo embroidered it is ironed on it still looks good and is not noticeable from the image.

Which design
do you think is
best? Why?
Design 5,
because I
believe the
โ€˜classified โ€˜
font and the
โ€˜LDNโ€™ font
compliment
eachother.
This is why I
believe the
dripping font
works best on
the โ€˜LDNโ€™ too.
Number six is
in my opinion
the best
design , it
looks like it
was done with
a graffiti drip
maker and has
a โ€œgrimierโ€
look to it.
Number 3 , as
they both
blend it well
with
eachother yet
are comlty
different , they
are also eady
to read and
bold so stand
out
Number 2
because I like
the graffiti
effect on the
โ€˜LDNโ€™ but also
I like the
classical old
English font
for โ€˜Classifiedโ€™
Design 2
Its simple and
classic and less
โ€˜in your faceโ€™
What colour t-
shirt do you
think the print
should put on
I believe the
white shirt is
best
White Tโ€™s sell
well , or a
grainy light
grey colour
I think white
would be best
as it is a
neutral colour
and would be
able to go with
any skin tone /
stle etc.
I would wear a
white t shirt
because I
prefer them
but also I think
the logo looks
better in
black.
Black, white
and grey.
Polo shirts
over t-shirts
Do you like the
design? Why?
I like the
design
because the
fonts match
what the word
says. Classified
is in a smart
calligraphy
font and then
LDN in a street
graffiti font
and they fit
together
great.
I like the
design
because its got
an urban ,
graffiti style to
it
I like the
design due it
being simple
and would be
easy to wear
yet I do think
it is a bit plain
and has been
done to many
times before
I like the
design
because each
word has its
own theme
through the
font. The
design also
isnโ€™t too much
for it to be a
small print on
the chest.
I like the
London link. I
think LDN
should be
below
Classified as it
seems too
long to go on a
t-shirt. A more
โ€˜boxโ€™ look
would be
better in my
opinion
What would
you change
about it?
I think a logo
above the
brand name
will improve
the tshirt
I wouldnโ€™t
change
anything
I think you
should be
different to all
these clothing
compants and
maybe put a
small design
on the lining
or something .
Either add a
symbol to the
brand that you
could print on
the back or
underneath
the text but in
a different
colour. Or
border the
text with a
circle outline
or a square.
See above
What you add? I would add a
logo above the
brand name
I would add a
logo but only
to the label on
the inside
because I like
the simple
clean look
I would add a
design or
something to
make it look
different to
any other t
shirt clothning
brand out
there
Read above Maybe add a
small logo to
the back of the
t-shirt near the
top
What style of
clothing would
you put it on?
Iโ€™d like this
design on a
tshirt and
hoodie. I think
Tโ€™s ,
Sweatshirt and
hoodies would
probably be
T SHIRTS AND
SWEATSHIRTS
Tshirts and
vest tops
Tshirts,
jumpers
cap
After receiving all the feedback about my idea it has more given me ideas about what to make when
the company expands with more ideas on what clothing items to release if the first selling of the
product goes well, which includes hoodies sweatshirts and beanies. The Most popular logo was
almost my favorite of the ones that I designed that was number two that has the dripping graffiti
text. The feedback has been very positive and has given me more confidence in how the product is
going to turn out. I agree with the people I interviewed and they believe I should add a logo as well
as the text to print on the t-shirt that would make the brand more distinctive. Originally I was going
to make the price of the t-shirts ยฃ20 but due to the feedback and the socio economic status group I
have placed my brand in I think it would make my product more desirable at the price of ยฃ15
because I would still be making a profit but looks a lot cheaper and isnโ€™t too cheap
After being told which brand font design they liked the best, I re designed the brand name and got
feedback on those as well to come to the final conclusion what the design will look like on the t-shirt
minus the logo which is still to be designed, The most popular was the top and the bottom design I
like the top one because it looks like the different fonts compliment each other but the bottom one
was continuity because the word blends into the other.
Jake - I prefer the 4th
design because I find the positioning of the โ€˜LDNโ€™ far more interesting than any
other design and if its going to be printed on the pocket you want the logo small and not too long. So
this design is perfect because it iss boxed in yet it has angle to it.
Elliot โ€“ Out of the four designs the fourth is my favorite. I love the way the LDN looks as if it is falling
creating more a broken London feel just as the spray paint font does. The fonts make it eye catching
and create attention to the logo.
Thea โ€“ The juxtaposition of cursive script font and dripping-paint graffiti style is effective and
suggests the brand is both elegant and urban. The fourth design has linked the two fonts through
the downward stroke of the โ€˜fโ€™, though the LDN could be moved down further to give each word
more breathing space.
After receiving this feedback from the a different variety of people I came to the conclusion that the
fourth design is the design style that I am going to use but still some changes need to be made so it
can be finalized.

How the first draft T-shirt was made
As the company I was making an order from could not deliver a sample in time for the photo
shoot I decided to print one myself. Initially I had planned just print this image off in photoshop
as a draft first and then on to the print paper after.
But when I did so the images came out pixelated because I had originally made the logo on a
smaller canvas size so it could not be blown up that much. So had to remake the logo again but I
chose to do it in InDesign this time as I had remembered being told that was the better software
to print in.
After re making the logo I realized that it was not written mirrored which is how I would need
to print on to the t-shirt as the image I created first shows.
I found out that by changing that percentage to minus 100% it revereses the image making it
look mirrored it was also possible by selecting the text and with the size locators dragging it
across passed the image into minus but this meant you could not achieve the exact same size as
you had it before which made the first way more reliable.
After I had done this and decided on the size that I wanted, along with this process I was
constantly printing onto paper trying to work out the sizes that I wanted on the t-shirt.
The logo was printed out and to test that the paper worked well and work out how to do it I
used a old t-shirt to iron on a couple prints before I did it on a brand new t-shirt which I am glad
I did because it mean the final product came out better.
After going through the test process I was ready to do it on the final piece.
The product doesnโ€™t look like it will when the bulk order is made as they will be embroidered on
to the t-shirt but this gives the consumers a idea of how the product is going to look and myself
as the brand owner.
The Process of creating the poster
The start product is the image which was taken off the camera and put on to the computer. The
photo was taken in the middle of the day so the light was bright which can be slightly noticed
here. The problem with on location photo shoots you can never rely on the weather and what
the lighting is going to be like.
I felt that the image looked like it was missing some texture so I put the image into the program
Pixelmator and sharpened the edges of the photo which gives it a little more depth.
The next stage was to change the program I was editing in because photoshop is a lot easier to
manipulate images the way I want to than Pixelmator which is mainly for editing images. I
created a A4 portrait page and placed the image in, unintentionally wasnโ€™t big enough to fit the
whole page but left a interesting border round the edge which I felt I could use.
I had to single out the image of the model to then edit the background colour I created a new
document. to do so I used the quick selection tool to do so and then for the left arm that would
not allow me to select it I used the magnetic lasso tool to do so. After doing this I merged the
layers together so it could be freely moved on back to the intial image when I needed to. Whilst
the models image was singled out it gave me a opportunity to edit his image, I used the burn
tool so adjust certain parts of his hair so it looked more consistant, then filled in gaps in his
beard so it looked better trimmed. Even though the image had been sharpened before had I
used the sharpen brush to use on his hair.
Knowing I had created a separate document with the models image singled out I could now
darken the background because I wanted to add a grungier feel to the image and as you can see
when I did so it did not give the model a good look I adjusted the curves of the image and then
the vibrance to achieve the look I have.
I copied the new layer than I had created for the models image and pasted it into the original
image and made sure it was in the foreground of the image so the background would not
overpower it. The difference can be noticed it makes the models presence more noticed to the
darker background.
This is where I used the border to my own advantage and remembered how some posters are
pasted on to walls, lampposts and other locations and thought it would look interesting to have
it in the poster. It is hard to re create an image by drawing it on the computer so the way in
which I created the realist effect was cut out different sections of plumbing tape and scanned it.
After doing so I opened the file in PhotoShop and quick selected a different image of the tape
each time and put them in the corners.
All the manipulations of the image had been done now so it was just the text which needed to be
added to make it look more like an advertisement, the first part which I needed to make clear
was the brand name, even though it is on the t-shirt it is not big enough to simply be taken off of
that so added a big version of the logo but to make it more distinct I added another image of the
logo but in white and put it behind the black on which make a white shadow behind it and
easier to see on the wall.
The final sections that I added was a little slogan for the brand, which is relevant to the meaning
of the brand and target audience. Classified is means smart and exclusive so using that it makes
the brand look appealable to a higher class that just teenagers because everyone spends time
just going about there day to day and needs fashionable brands to do which I feel mine fits into
that demographic. Once again I used the same fonts as I had for the brand logo to keep the
consistency though out. As can be seen I used the technique of writing the same word again in
the opposite colour so bring out the colour or create a shadow of the other. I did not want to
cram the poster with text about the brand but I included the main things that a consumer would
want which is an example of the clothing, where to get it which is done by the website link at the
bottom, what date it is released considering it is a new brand & the brand name. I just added a
slogan because I feel like that makes it clearer what the target audience is.

  • 4. Final Proposal / detailed outline of production The idea for my production is to have a brand launch for the company that I have created โ€˜Classified LDNโ€™. I intend on getting stock of the first batch of t-shirts and then creating an advert for a magazine of a model wearing the t-shirt to co inside with the release of the product. The 50 items will cost ยฃ229.80 then selling each t-shirt for ยฃ20 each will mean I get ยฃ1000 which results in a ยฃ771.20 profit on the first order if the demand is big the next order would be on a bigger scale increasing profit margins. The next stage would be expanding the brands clothing line by adding different t-shirt designs, hoodies and hats. I have had to deal with 3 different clients; I have managed the product by dealing with different clients who will be doing different jobs for the release of the product. I have been liaising with the merchandising company by sending them the logo designs, receiving the costs for this and organising the order of the product. Another client was the graphic designer who was the initial person who I needed to use as I could not move further without the brand name, I told him how I wanted to portray the product which was to have the classified section looking smart and then LDN to have an urban feel to it which is best matched by graffiti other than that I gave him freedom with what to do with the design and keep coming back to me with different designs, This costing ยฃ300 The photographer is needed for more than just one reason as in the initial email that he sent he said that he could sort out a model and someone to do hair and make up for the shoot as well all this was organised for after the merchandise was received

  • 6. Contingency / back up plans After the product is received i have a couple of days where I have time to do the photo shoot so if the photographer cannot do one day there are other days it can be done. Everything else is under control in the production stage. The order did not come in time for the photoshoot so an intial copy of how the t-shirt was going to look was made, it still had the same design it was just not embroidered which was how it was going to come in the order, it was an iron on transfer instead. Production management (Detail how you managed each stage) Managing the pre-production roles The pre production roles where tasks which could all be taken out by myself which got rid of the difficulty of relying on other people besides getting the logo designed which did not restrict me from coming to the conclusion of the type of t-shirt and colour I wanted to use. Looking into the market was one of the main jobs I took on making sure I understood the price bracket I wanted to put my product in compared to other brands I wanted to be on the same level as others using the demographics they go for to use for my own. Managing the production phase Production consists of making sure that the things I need are ready for deadlines so I can get the magazine insert made in time to be entered in the magazine. If everything was planned correctly which I feel it was things would come in time leaving me a day or two to prepare for the next stage. For example to t-shirts arrive then two days after the photo shoot would be then followed by the editing, then to be ready by the end of the week. The thing which I had to rely on the most was making sure that the distribution company were going to deliver the t-shirts but the conversations I had been having with the company were frequent and were waiting on the payment of the order before they started the process, this could not be done until after the proposal and if I had received money for my project.
  • 7. Post production phase The photographer was organised for the 23rd June to be at the location for 10am along with the model and I would meet them there to give the product to the model and to direct the photographer with what I wanted them to do and looking a the images as the shoot carried on. After receiving the images I chose the best one and began to edit it on PhotoShop and Pixelmator so it would be ready for the publication. The poster was made so that it was of A4 size as that is the size of paper FHM use in their magazine. The main priority of this stage was making sure that everyone was at the photo shoot location at the right time. Detail how you solved problems Originally I planned on using a certain brand of clothing to print the t-shirts on but it proved a difficulty because I would have had to order the t-shirts then using a separate source get them screen printed which wouldnโ€™t of been cost efficient so I found a company who deal with the distribution of bulk t-shirts and getting the design on the t-shirts which then again resulted in a better quality product as I could have it embroidered instead of screen printed. Another issue I had was with fonts, a font that I had initially found to use I couldnโ€™t as the person who created the font said that it could not be used for commercial use. To solve this I found a font that did not have this restriction on it. The merchandising company emailed and said that the order would not make in time for the photoshoot which I had spoken to them about the items needing to be here for so to keep the photo shoot still on I made a draft copy of the t-shirt using iron on transfer paper to make a t-shirt for the model to wear. Prioritising (How and what did you prioritise during your producing) Things could only be done in a certain order which meant I had to organise one thing before I could sort the next, Initially I had to get the logo designs from the graphic designer before I could start designing the t-shirt and finalising it. Once I had finalised what I would like the t- shirt would be like that allowed me to be able to send the designs to a t-shirt distribution company, at the same time I could start conversations with the photographer. Speaking to the photographer prior to even making the order was a good idea because then we could negotiate process and make it clear that the job was there. Once the order had been made I had a rough estimate on how long it would take for the t-shirts to arrive then allowing me to arrange a date to do the photo shoot. Once this was done I could then I did not have to rely
  • 8. on anyone else but myself because I was controlling the manipulation of the images. Modifications (Why did you modify your work and what was changed during post- production) The reason I had to change the post production stage was because the distribution company could not provide the product on time and I still needed to do the photos hoot in time for the magazine to release it in their next issue so even though the product does not have the logo embroidered it is ironed on it still looks good and is not noticeable from the image. Attach any pre-production a material you may need
  • 10. Question 1st response 2nd response 3rd response 5th response Which design do you think is best? Why? Design 5, because I believe the โ€˜classified โ€˜ font and the โ€˜LDNโ€™ font compliment eachother. This is why I believe the dripping font works best on the โ€˜LDNโ€™ too. Number six is in my opinion the best design , it looks like it was done with a graffiti drip maker and has a โ€œgrimierโ€ look to it. Number 3 , as they both blend it well with eachother yet are comlty different , they are also eady to read and bold so stand out Number 2 because I like the graffiti effect on the โ€˜LDNโ€™ but also I like the classical old English font for โ€˜Classifiedโ€™ Design 2 Its simple and classic and less โ€˜in your faceโ€™ What colour t- shirt do you think the print should put on I believe the white shirt is best White Tโ€™s sell well , or a grainy light grey colour I think white would be best as it is a neutral colour and would be able to go with any skin tone / stle etc. I would wear a white t shirt because I prefer them but also I think the logo looks better in black. Black, white and grey. Polo shirts over t-shirts Do you like the design? Why? I like the design because the fonts match what the word says. Classified is in a smart calligraphy font and then LDN in a street graffiti font and they fit together great. I like the design because its got an urban , graffiti style to it I like the design due it being simple and would be easy to wear yet I do think it is a bit plain and has been done to many times before I like the design because each word has its own theme through the font. The design also isnโ€™t too much for it to be a small print on the chest. I like the London link. I think LDN should be below Classified as it seems too long to go on a t-shirt. A more โ€˜boxโ€™ look would be better in my opinion What would you change about it? I think a logo above the brand name will improve the tshirt I wouldnโ€™t change anything I think you should be different to all these clothing compants and maybe put a small design on the lining or something . Either add a symbol to the brand that you could print on the back or underneath the text but in a different colour. Or border the text with a circle outline or a square. See above What you add? I would add a logo above the brand name I would add a logo but only to the label on the inside because I like the simple clean look I would add a design or something to make it look different to any other t shirt clothning brand out there Read above Maybe add a small logo to the back of the t-shirt near the top What style of clothing would you put it on? Iโ€™d like this design on a tshirt and hoodie. I think Tโ€™s , Sweatshirt and hoodies would probably be T SHIRTS AND SWEATSHIRTS Tshirts and vest tops Tshirts, jumpers cap

  • 12. After receiving all the feedback about my idea it has more given me ideas about what to make when the company expands with more ideas on what clothing items to release if the first selling of the product goes well, which includes hoodies sweatshirts and beanies. The Most popular logo was almost my favorite of the ones that I designed that was number two that has the dripping graffiti text. The feedback has been very positive and has given me more confidence in how the product is going to turn out. I agree with the people I interviewed and they believe I should add a logo as well as the text to print on the t-shirt that would make the brand more distinctive. Originally I was going to make the price of the t-shirts ยฃ20 but due to the feedback and the socio economic status group I have placed my brand in I think it would make my product more desirable at the price of ยฃ15 because I would still be making a profit but looks a lot cheaper and isnโ€™t too cheap
  • 13. After being told which brand font design they liked the best, I re designed the brand name and got feedback on those as well to come to the final conclusion what the design will look like on the t-shirt minus the logo which is still to be designed, The most popular was the top and the bottom design I like the top one because it looks like the different fonts compliment each other but the bottom one was continuity because the word blends into the other. Jake - I prefer the 4th design because I find the positioning of the โ€˜LDNโ€™ far more interesting than any other design and if its going to be printed on the pocket you want the logo small and not too long. So this design is perfect because it iss boxed in yet it has angle to it. Elliot โ€“ Out of the four designs the fourth is my favorite. I love the way the LDN looks as if it is falling creating more a broken London feel just as the spray paint font does. The fonts make it eye catching and create attention to the logo.
  • 14. Thea โ€“ The juxtaposition of cursive script font and dripping-paint graffiti style is effective and suggests the brand is both elegant and urban. The fourth design has linked the two fonts through the downward stroke of the โ€˜fโ€™, though the LDN could be moved down further to give each word more breathing space. After receiving this feedback from the a different variety of people I came to the conclusion that the fourth design is the design style that I am going to use but still some changes need to be made so it can be finalized.

  • 20. As the company I was making an order from could not deliver a sample in time for the photo shoot I decided to print one myself. Initially I had planned just print this image off in photoshop as a draft first and then on to the print paper after. But when I did so the images came out pixelated because I had originally made the logo on a smaller canvas size so it could not be blown up that much. So had to remake the logo again but I chose to do it in InDesign this time as I had remembered being told that was the better software to print in.
  • 21. After re making the logo I realized that it was not written mirrored which is how I would need to print on to the t-shirt as the image I created first shows. I found out that by changing that percentage to minus 100% it revereses the image making it look mirrored it was also possible by selecting the text and with the size locators dragging it across passed the image into minus but this meant you could not achieve the exact same size as you had it before which made the first way more reliable.
  • 22. After I had done this and decided on the size that I wanted, along with this process I was constantly printing onto paper trying to work out the sizes that I wanted on the t-shirt.
  • 23. The logo was printed out and to test that the paper worked well and work out how to do it I used a old t-shirt to iron on a couple prints before I did it on a brand new t-shirt which I am glad I did because it mean the final product came out better.
  • 24. After going through the test process I was ready to do it on the final piece. The product doesnโ€™t look like it will when the bulk order is made as they will be embroidered on to the t-shirt but this gives the consumers a idea of how the product is going to look and myself as the brand owner.
  • 25. The Process of creating the poster
  • 26. The start product is the image which was taken off the camera and put on to the computer. The photo was taken in the middle of the day so the light was bright which can be slightly noticed here. The problem with on location photo shoots you can never rely on the weather and what the lighting is going to be like.
  • 27. I felt that the image looked like it was missing some texture so I put the image into the program Pixelmator and sharpened the edges of the photo which gives it a little more depth.
  • 28. The next stage was to change the program I was editing in because photoshop is a lot easier to manipulate images the way I want to than Pixelmator which is mainly for editing images. I created a A4 portrait page and placed the image in, unintentionally wasnโ€™t big enough to fit the whole page but left a interesting border round the edge which I felt I could use.
  • 29. I had to single out the image of the model to then edit the background colour I created a new document. to do so I used the quick selection tool to do so and then for the left arm that would not allow me to select it I used the magnetic lasso tool to do so. After doing this I merged the layers together so it could be freely moved on back to the intial image when I needed to. Whilst the models image was singled out it gave me a opportunity to edit his image, I used the burn tool so adjust certain parts of his hair so it looked more consistant, then filled in gaps in his beard so it looked better trimmed. Even though the image had been sharpened before had I used the sharpen brush to use on his hair.
  • 30. Knowing I had created a separate document with the models image singled out I could now darken the background because I wanted to add a grungier feel to the image and as you can see when I did so it did not give the model a good look I adjusted the curves of the image and then the vibrance to achieve the look I have.
  • 31. I copied the new layer than I had created for the models image and pasted it into the original image and made sure it was in the foreground of the image so the background would not overpower it. The difference can be noticed it makes the models presence more noticed to the darker background.
  • 32. This is where I used the border to my own advantage and remembered how some posters are pasted on to walls, lampposts and other locations and thought it would look interesting to have it in the poster. It is hard to re create an image by drawing it on the computer so the way in which I created the realist effect was cut out different sections of plumbing tape and scanned it. After doing so I opened the file in PhotoShop and quick selected a different image of the tape each time and put them in the corners.
  • 33. All the manipulations of the image had been done now so it was just the text which needed to be added to make it look more like an advertisement, the first part which I needed to make clear was the brand name, even though it is on the t-shirt it is not big enough to simply be taken off of that so added a big version of the logo but to make it more distinct I added another image of the logo but in white and put it behind the black on which make a white shadow behind it and easier to see on the wall.
  • 34. The final sections that I added was a little slogan for the brand, which is relevant to the meaning of the brand and target audience. Classified is means smart and exclusive so using that it makes the brand look appealable to a higher class that just teenagers because everyone spends time just going about there day to day and needs fashionable brands to do which I feel mine fits into that demographic. Once again I used the same fonts as I had for the brand logo to keep the consistency though out. As can be seen I used the technique of writing the same word again in the opposite colour so bring out the colour or create a shadow of the other. I did not want to cram the poster with text about the brand but I included the main things that a consumer would want which is an example of the clothing, where to get it which is done by the website link at the bottom, what date it is released considering it is a new brand & the brand name. I just added a slogan because I feel like that makes it clearer what the target audience is.
  • 35. Work log 30th April Started to brainstorm ideas, making the decision as to which one was best, I already knew which one was going to be chosen as I was filling it out, as the second one included both ideas so would turn out more professional 1st May Completed the analysis of the two ideas and the selection and justification. 2nd May Gathered together images for the mood board but whilst doing so made me understand the project a bit more and realize the direction which I wanted it to head in. Deciding the brand name and realizing the way I would of liked it to look then creating a few ideas to make the decision from. I also realized the way in which some of my favourite brands advertise their products which has made me think about what to use in mine. 3rd May Today I created the mock up designs for the t-shirts on a black and white template with the chosen logo on it. Then wrote a questionnaire and received feedback from it. 7th May Started to write up the audience research for my project 8th May Finished the audience research for the product, after reading through the feedback from the survey about the way the logo is designed I re designed the way the text looks and have received some feedback for it and waiting on some more. 9th May Received the final feedback from the different designs I made and came to the conclusion of what style of design I am going to use and created the design for that, taking on the feedback and making slight alterations. Identified materials that will be needed for my product, Worked out production management requirements and finalized my appropriate target base for audience making sure it was clear what age group I am going to be aiming at 10th May I spoke to a few more people who said that the design would look better if I altered the way it looked instead of the standard word being next to the other word so did 4 potential designs, Started to research into other campaigns and see how they went about promoting their product, Research in to production techniques that need to be used, Looking at potential codes and constraints
