6. FINE ARTS
The term “fine arts” was first used to
describe the art forms created a primarily
for their appearance rather than their
practical use.

•Also known as decorative crafts.
•Artworks that are both aesthetically pleasing and
functional.
•While the fine arts are primarily concerned with
beauty and aesthetically, the decorative arts are not
only beautiful but are useful as well.

FORMS
•There are new and unusual art form that could
not be easily categorized between the fine arts
and the decorative arts;
•Contemporary art forms include recently
conceived art styles and techniques that are
experimental in nature.

Is both the process and the
product of art making referring
to an act of putting various
fragments together.
24. COLLAGE
A piece of art that incorporates
a variety of materials. It involves
gluing things like paper, cloth,
or found objects onto canvas or
board and incorporating that into a
painting or composition.

The term installation art
is used to describe large-
scale, mixed-media
constructions, often
designed for a specific place
or for a temporary period of
