Regional Security Administration of user Active Directory rights. Security access to servers and folder
structures for EMEA region within a global company.

1998-2001 Network Field Service Engineer - Pinacl Communication Systems Ltd.
Working in a team of network engineers supplying support for network maintenance contracts.
Recent projects include commissioning Digital TV sites for Telewest, working with Andersen Consultant
project managers. The work included downloading configurations onto Sun DHCP servers, Cisco Catalyst
5500s, 7600 Universal Broadcast Routers and Cisco 2500 terminal servers, fine tuning and checking systems
and trouble shooting any problems.
Site supervisor for Pinacl within the London Stock Exchange and Daiwa Europe Bank. Responsible for Cisco
Router maintenance (7000, 4500 & 2500 ranges), 3Com equipment (LinkBuilder FMS stack units, Super
Stack 1000 etc) and Chipcom On-line and On-core hubs.
Monitoring networks with SunNet Manager, Cisco Works and 3Com’s Transcend packages installed on UNIX
boxes, and using bespoke software designed within Pinacl to monitor network traffic levels. Investigation of
any faults reported.
Experience of structured CAT5, Thin-Ethernet, FDDI, Fibre ST and Token Ring cabled network
environments, installing patches, structured cabling etc.
Providing regular reports to both clients and Pinacl line management regarding events and fault recovery /

1991-1998 Computing Officer - Systems & Networks - University of North London
Working in the Systems and Networks Team, Information Systems & Services department. Responsible for
installation, monitoring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and 3Com hubs (Cisco 4500 & cat5000, 3Com
LinkBuilder FMS stack units, Super Stack 1000 etc). Connection of users to the above using structured CAT5
2. utp and Ethernet co-axial cable. Some ATM experience, assisted in configuration of Cisco Lightstream 1010.
Research of firewall security requirements for the University.
Projects included managing the connection of two remote sites to the University through dedicated KiloStream
lines with ISDN backup on demand via mini routers (Scorpion Marlin NX1). Managing sub-contractors
authorised to install structured CAT5 utp cabling on University campus, to ensure work finished to schedule
and correct standards.
Managed and implemented the selection of suppliers of IT equipment to the University, following EC
tendering regulations.
Responsible for creating the Systems and Networks home page on the WWW using HTML Assistant hypertext
