Theme: Sagradistas Navigating the Career
Pathway: Knowing Me, Building Me, and
Guiding the Best Version of Me
Rationale:
 Career development is a lifelong process of self-
exploration and awareness, continual acquisition of
knowledge about the ever-changing world of work, and
decision-making. Most students will undergo several
career changes throughout their lives, and therefore it is
essential that they are empowered and equipped with the
understanding of how to choose and decide for personal
career - not just help them “plug in” to a specific job/field
where they will stay for life (this scenario is extremely
uncommon nowadays). (Valparaiso University,2022)
 To prepare the young Vincentians to become self-
directed and competent professionals in the future,
the Guidance Center has designed a program and
activities in celebration of the Developmental Career
Guidance Week. This Developmental Career Guidance
Week Celebration would accelerate and strengthen
the acquisition of greater knowledge, noble character
and innovative skills about self and the world of
careers which is useful for career planning and
decision making that could match the career demand
in the labor market.
OBJECTIVES:
General:
To help the students in their career
exploration, planning, and development
of personal career goals with focus on
interests, talents, and passion towards the
need in the chosen career.
SPECIFIC:
 To explore and discover one’s personal dream career.
 To exude and showcase personal dream career through various career
guidance activities
 To gain substantial knowledge and information about one’s dream
career and become aware of the career trends in the labor market.
 To assist the students and parents in making informed decisions
regarding personal choice of SHS/HED Tract.
 To gain inspiration and motivation from successful professionals and
to take action to nurture one’s dream career.
 To provide guidance in one’s career choice and decision-making.

Mechanics: Career Presentation
 Each of the Grade/Year/Level/Section should have ONE
REPRESENTATIVE.
 For HED students, ONE REPRESENTATIVE for 1st and 2nd year per
course and ONE REPRESENTATIVE for 3rd year and 4th year per
course.
 Each representative should have a 1-2 minutes’ presentation of
their chosen career professions. The contents of the presentation
should include his/her name, grade level and section/course, a
short introduction of his/her chosen career and inspirational
message.
“Sagradistas Navigating the Career Pathway: Knowing Me,
Building Me, and Guiding the Best Version of Me.”
 Each of the Grade/Year/Level/Course should have ONE
REPRESENTATIVE.
 Participants will provide any art coloring material.
 Illustration board will be provided by the Guidance Center.

Introduction:
Good morning. I am glad to see all of you today. I hope you are all doing well.
Today we will be discussing about “SELF-CARE”. We will know and learn later how
each one us take good care of our own selves. For you to understand more
about Self-Care, let us watch first a video. https://youtu.be/bARpudRvNgA
Questions to Ponder:
1. What is Self-Care
2. What are the benefits of Self-Care?
3. What Self-Care Tips are mentioned in the video?
Though self-care varies from person to person, certain
aspects such as reducing stress, trying to eat better, and
getting enough sleep, are vital and are the first steps
towards living a healthier life. We've all heard of the
benefits of self-care in the video.
 Discussion:
 The World Health Organization defines Self-Care as: “the ability of
individuals, families, and communities to promote health, prevent
disease, maintain health, and to cope with illness and disability with
or without the support of a healthcare provider.”
 According to this definition, self-care includes everything related to
staying physically healthy — including hygiene, nutrition, and
seeking medical care when needed. It’s all the steps an individual
can take to manage stressors in his or her life and take care of his or
her own health and well-being.
 Instruction: Divide yourselves into five groups. Look for and
encircle the listed words below in the Self Care World Search. You
are given five minutes to finish the activity.
Activity: Self Care Word Search
 Analysis:
1. How did you feel after accomplishing the Self Care
Word Search?
2. What self-care tips from the video and from the self-
care word search you have done already or you think
are applicable to you?
3. What are the benefits of these self-care tips?
 Abstraction:
Given all the inputs this morning, what do you think is the
impact or benefit of Self-Care Tips to you? Does this topic help
you to know and affirm your very own self?
 Application:
 Make a Self- Care Plan for the Week and Implement them. Use the
template given. You may draw or write the activities.
 Closing:
 Thank you so much for your active participation in our
homeroom session today. Always remember that Self-Care
is very important in one’s life so you can stay physically,
mentally, emotionally and spiritually well. Self-care
promotes positive health outcomes, such as fostering
resilience, living longer, and becoming better equipped to
manage stress. I’m pretty sure that your weekly self-care
would be of great help to uplift your well-being.

  • 3. Rationale:  Career development is a lifelong process of self- exploration and awareness, continual acquisition of knowledge about the ever-changing world of work, and decision-making. Most students will undergo several career changes throughout their lives, and therefore it is essential that they are empowered and equipped with the understanding of how to choose and decide for personal career - not just help them “plug in” to a specific job/field where they will stay for life (this scenario is extremely uncommon nowadays).   • 4.  To prepare the young Vincentians to become self- directed and competent professionals in the future, the Guidance Center has designed a program and activities in celebration of the Developmental Career Guidance Week. This Developmental Career Guidance Week Celebration would accelerate and strengthen the acquisition of greater knowledge, noble character and innovative skills about self and the world of careers which is useful for career planning and decision making that could match the career demand in the labor market.

Mechanics: Career Presentation  Each of the Grade/Year/Level/Section should have ONE REPRESENTATIVE.  For HED students, ONE REPRESENTATIVE for 1st and 2nd year per course and ONE REPRESENTATIVE for 3rd year and 4th year per course.  Each representative should have a 1-2 minutes’ presentation of their chosen career professions. The contents of the presentation should include his/her name, grade level and section/course, a short introduction of his/her chosen career and inspirational message.
  • 10. “Sagradistas Navigating the Career Pathway: Knowing Me, Building Me, and Guiding the Best Version of Me.”  Each of the Grade/Year/Level/Course should have ONE REPRESENTATIVE.  Participants will provide any art coloring material.  Illustration board will be provided by the Guidance Center.
