2. Process
In my animation experiment I
used a template of a running and
jumping animation to practise
how to create the sense of
motion. I learned that at first, it
would be advised to make each
limb a different colour to make it
easier to understand how the
character is moving, while trying
to maintain the basic shape of the
person in movement to keep a
steady structure to the whole
motion. I created other objects to
create an illusion of movement by
moving them with each slide for
the character to interact with.
3. Reflection
I would incorporate other objects in my final
product so that the character looks like they are
moving, even if I choose to keep them in the same
place on the page or an area for them to move
convincingly across the screen.
4. Process
I wanted to create a dynamic
movement so decided a RPG type
attack would look interesting. I used a
template to get the key parts of a
sword slash, afterwards adding parts
to fill in the motion in between. I
decided that an enemy should be
attacked so began working on it. I
figured that instead of a similar
looking character, it would be better
to make a larger model to add distinct
features. I couldn’t add as much
movement due to time, with it’s
death being a wipe out instead of a
full collapse.
5. Reflection
I want to add the attacking type of animation in
my final product, using an RPG kind of element
in the game. However I am worried if I imagine
something too large scale, with a lot of
movement, there would be little time to finish
it.
6. Process
As I spent a lot of time on the second product, I
didn’t have time to create a third animation.
Instead I will use this space to describe the audio. I
picked out the essential parts of the animation,
being the sword and beast so I would focus on
them. I thought an “energy” kind of sound would fit
the magical looking sword, while attempting to
create a kind of animal noise using the BeatBox
tool. It took some time adjusting the sound to fit
the timing and some of the audio was difficult to
measure out in loudness.
7. Reflection
I have learned that I should try to make more
consideration for the overall music and sound
effects I will be creating while animating, taking the
the pacing and details into account so that I will
have an easier time making them. This may be
difficult, especially during a battle, with effects and
background music taking place simultaneously.
