Project: Energy Australia
Position: Test Specialist
Duration: November 2015 to Present
Project Description: Energy Australia
• EnergyAustralia (EA) is required to apply concessions to eligible customers in accordance with concession
agreements issued by various state concession departments.
• Concessions are typically applied by the system automatically (based on its current configuration). Some
concessions are required to be calculated and applied manually by back office as the system has not been
configured to calculate these concessions, or by front office for backdated or missed concessions.
• Concessions applied incorrectly can result in several undesirable outcomes including inaccurate bills,
increase in calls to CIC, ombudsman cases, increased churn, financial reimbursements to concession
authorities, increased scrutiny by regulatory bodies and additional FTEs required to correct errors.
• To address the above issues, the requirements in this document have been raised to align EA’s concession
calculation and concession application with its regulatory requirements, as well as to improve existing EA
concessions processes.
• Because of the complexity involved in implementing these changes as well as the number of concession
changes required, the business has decided to implement these changes via a project.
