I am writing this letter in support of Jia Jia Lee’s application for a 2015 FPA Symposium
scholarship. I have known Jia Jia Lee since the summer of 2015 as a student in my senior
undergraduate “Portfolio Management and Security Valuation” class. During her undergraduate
studies she has expressed remarkable interest in acquiring fundamental knowledge in Finance.
Jia Jia Lee is very enthusiastic and committed to her future professional growth and pursuing
entrepreneurial opportunities.
Jia Jia Lee continuously demonstrates diligence and strong focus in class, participates actively
in class discussion and exhibits the ability to not only understand the major financial concepts,
but to apply these concepts in various decision-making activities as well. Her assignments
reflected her hard-working nature, her personal strive for excellence, her ability to perform
meaningful analysis of financial management related problems, as well as her capability to offer
well-defined rationalized solutions.
Jia Jia Lee has attended a series of leadership camps and entrepreneur workshops to further her
personal skills and professional growth. She is also actively involved in the community and
campus life, currently serving as the President of the Malaysian Student Association at Winona
State University.
Although English is not her native language, Jia Jia Lee feels quite comfortable communicating
in English, both verbally and in writing. She has attained high level of reading and writing
comprehension that will facilitate her future career development activities. I am confident that
she will continue her efforts to achieve outstanding financial knowledge proficiency that will
allow her to excel in any future studies and/or professional activities.
For these reasons, I highly recommend Jia Jia Lee as a candidate for the FPA Symposium
scholarship that will allow her to attend the symposium and greatly benefit from the networking
