How did you attract/address your
audience?
Planning my film opening
• In the planning stages of my film opening once
I had though of three initial film ideas and
researched into the audience for my genre I
asked people on Facebook which film idea I
should chose. I asked people on Facebook as I
have mainly male and female teenagers on
there which are the Supernatural genre’s main
demographic.
• After this I had to chose a title for my film
opening. To do this I created a survey on
SmartSurvey and uploaded it to my blog so other
people in my class could tell me what title they
preferred.
• From the survey we can see that the preferred
title is Fix Me
• During the editing stages of my film opening,
before it was fully completed we showed our film
openings to the rest of the class and to get
feedback on what we need to do to improve and
what was good.
• From the feedback I received I found that I needed
to add the clip on the end after the titles of the
girl to tie her back into the story.
• This feedback was useful as the people in my class
are a similar age range to the target audience.
• After my film opening was completed I made
another survey on SmartSurvey to ask people
what they thought of my film opening. The
people that completed the survey were a mix
of both genders but everyone was aged 16-18,
which is a similar age to the main
demographic of Supernatural films.
How I attracted the audience
• The main way that I attracted the audience into
watching my film opening was by making a
Facebook fan page. On the Fan page there is
pictures of my the filming stages as well as a link
to my completed film opening on YouTube.
• As well as this I used a song from a person that
makes videos on YouTube. By doing this it means
that some of his already existing fan base may
watch the film opening as it uses one on his most
well known songs.
