Research Interests and Summary:
My research interests are in the field of developmental psychology. Specifically, I am interested in the immediate
and lasting effects of role models, including teachers, parents, peers, and mentors, on children or adolescents in
various contexts. I am also interested in traditional and non-traditional parents and how these individuals, and their
roles, impact the child and the family. It is my goal to pursue a graduate degree in this field and gain training in
both teaching and research at the doctoral level. I am currently a senior in the Department of Psychology at Virginia
Commonwealth University, serving in two research labs, and serving as an officer in an international honors society.
Beginning in the Fall of 2016, I will be moving forward in my journey by working with Dr. Adam Winsler as a
graduate student in the Applied Developmental Psychology Master’s of Arts program at George Mason University.
