10 REASONS YOU COULD HIRE ME
jeromepineau.com
2. 1. experience
I’ve worked in numerous industries, both
for startups and large multinationals, for
private and public companies, and with
tiny to very large globally distributed
teams.
I’ve tackled a vast amount of business
challenges, both internal and external.
All my life I’ve sat at the crossroad of
technology, marketing, and social media.
The diversity and depth of my experience
gives me unique perspective on any
problem you might need to solve.
3. I’ve worn so many hats, it’s probably why I
don’t have much hair left.
I was an engineer, an entrepreneur, a
pre-sales consultant, a technical writer, a
product evangelist, a community
manager, a product marketer, and a
digital strategist. I probably forget a few.
There’s not a lot of room for one-trick
ponies in this business. I’ve always known
how to quickly adapt to the situation at
hand.
2. versatility
4. 3. flexibility
I’m easy to work with. Quite honestly,
many people in this business aren’t.
To me it’s about partnerships, and things
don’t always go as planned, so you have
to roll with the punches.
Adapt, put on your best game, help
everyone who asks for it, and do what it
takes to get the job done – even if it
seems a little weird at the time.
5. 4. loyalty
I once worked free for a client - that’s
right, free. Why? Because the business
was tanking, the owner was desperately
trying to score more investment, and he
was up-front about it.
I had no issue saying “don’t worry, I’ll stick
it out. Pay me when you can”. They didn’t
end up making it unfortunately, but I did
eventually get paid.
I still have the hand-written thank you
note from the CEO.
I’m old-fashioned about that.
6. 5. can-do attitude
Nothing motivates me more than
someone saying “it’s impossible to do this”
or “no one’s ever done it before”.
I never met a professional challenge I
didn’t like. Which is why I once moved
from California to Switzerland.
Can-do attitude accounts for 95% of
success as any Navy SEAL will attest to.
7. 6. results
I once told a client “if you don’t see
results in six months, fire me because
you’re wasting your money”.
They were very surprised as other people
had told them it would take years to
achieve their goals.
We delivered early and frequently. Little
by little. But always something.
And they didn’t fire me
8. 7. culture
I’m lucky to be multicultural and
multilingual. I’ve visited more countries
than most people can name. And I’ve
worked with teams all across the globe.
Travel and diversity open the mind, fuel
innovation, and keep you humble.
It also gives you a unique and distinct
business advantage - especially in the
marketing field.
9. 8. baggage
I don’t bring any pre-conceived notions
or dogmas to the table.
I’ve been around long enough to know
that in this business, things aren’t always
black or white. I’m a natural-born sceptic,
and learning is a life journey.
You show me a better way to skin a cat
and we’re having feline burgers for dinner
tonight.
Leave arrogance to the insecure ones.
10. 9. passion
When I was seven years old, my mother
came to pick me up after a long day’s
work at my great grandmother’s
apartment.
She rushed to hug me but I put my hand
out and snapped at her “Leave me
alone! Can’t you see I’m doing my
homework? Don’t bother me now!”
I haven’t changed very much in terms of
passion and focus since then. Although
I’m a little nicer about it.
I can only do things 110% or not at all.
11. 10. left brain
As a former geek, I love data. many
people respect data but fear it. Data is
everyone’s friend.
I’m inherently Cartesian by upbringing
and experience. I’m willing to believe, but
show me the data first.
In a field like digital marketing too often
dominated by artisans, it’s good to have
a little analytical structure.
