Step 1:Determine for format in which you will write your resume in

Step 3: Education and your skills that will pertain to the job you’re applying

Step 5:Career history
Step 6:Personal statement
Step 7:Referees
3. TIPS
Do not use basic templates
Use key words within the first 2-3 bullets
Make sure that your resume is easy to follow
Proofread for any mistakes
Be sure that your resume is up to date
Be sure that you highlight skills that will pertain to the job you’re going for
Be sure that your resume has no gaps and is not misleading
4. COMMON MISTAKES
Grammatical errors
Not specific enough
Not updating your resume frequently
Highlighting duties and not your accomplishments
Being to vague or rambling
Bad summary
Leaving off important information
5. OTHER TIPS
Use your resume to get your foot in the door, but do not use it while
networking
It is good to follow up after interviews to show you’re interest in the job
Ask questions during the interview
Research about the company and the position
