Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, Allahabad – CGPA 9.11/10
Academic Research Experience:
Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at DBEB, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi – (Sep 2013 onwards): Working in DBT
Government of India funded project, “Efficacy and Risk Assessment of Bio inoculants in Cajanus cajan: Impact on plant
growth, rhizospheric microbial diversity, and genes involved in N turnover”
Proficient in working independently, contributed in research ideation, optimization & troubleshooting of protocols
from scratch and data analysis.
Adept in designing of strain specific primers for the unequivocal identification of micro-organisms from complex
environment samples by SCAR RAPD technology.
Conversant with scientific report writing, drafting manuscripts and poster presentations.
Master’s thesis project on “Study of Antimicrobial Profile of Bacteria Isolated from Acne patients” at Institute of Genomics
and Integrative Biology, (CSIR-IGIB) – (Jan to May’13)
Hands on experience on isolation, identification and characterization of microorganisms of skin microbiota
Conducted biochemical assays such as SDS-PAGE, Native PAGE, Western blot and basic handling of cell culture
Academic research project on “Studies on heavy metal removal efficiency and antibacterial activity of Chitosan prepared
from shrimp shell waste” – (Jun to Dec’12)
Conducted synthesis of Chitosan, a natural biopolymer from the exoskeleton of shrimp shell waste
Physiochemical properties of the synthesised chitosan was in total occurrence with the commercial available chitosan
Performed scanning electron microscopy analysis was to determine the surface morphology
Published research findings and presented it at the International Conference on Science, Engineering and Technology
(SET)
Academic research project on “Studies on the inhibitory activity of biologically synthesized and characterized Zinc Oxide
nanoparticles” – (Jan to May’12)
Developed an eco-friendly and inexpensive protocol for biological synthesises of ZnO nanoparticles using the
probiotic microbe Lactobacillus sporogens
The average particle size of the synthesized zinc oxide nanoparticle was found to be 145.7nm through XRD analysis
and they were found to be effective against the pathogenic Staphylococcus aureus
Findings were published in Journal of Pure and Applied Microbiology
Undergraduate thesis project on “Morphological, Cultural and Biochemical Properties of Bifidobacterium Species and their
Antimicrobial Action” (Jan to May’11)
