  Disabilities
      Learning or Physical Disability
 These disabilities could result in extra time or help
 Students may not know the software
  Kidspiration
 Students may not know how to use
  PowerPoint
 Students should know some background
  information about computers
 Students should know how to pronounce
  letters and blend sounds
 The students show variety with kinesthetic,
  auditory, and visual learning styles
 Some students are more understanding of
  certain learning styles
 Most students like to work within groups
 Most students like to work with “hands on”
  activities
 Students have previously worked together in
  groups
 Students have done some activities on the
  computer
 Students have done worksheets and games to
  promote learning
1.Demonstrate understanding of spoken words,
syllables, and sounds (phonemes). Students will be
able to recognize rhyming words.

2. Know and apply grade-level phonics and word
analysis skills in decoding words. Students will be
associating and grouping words together.

3. The student will recognize and recall the one to
one correspondence between most letters and

sounds.
 Methods
 The teacher will be using all three learning styles
to connect and engage with every student.
Specifically, students will be hearing a lecture,
reading words, and working on computer
     activities to check for comprehension.
 Media
 The teacher will use word processing documents
to check for comprehension of ending sounds and
     blending
 The teacher will use Kidspiration to also check
     for comprehension
 The teacher will use PowerPoint to engage
students in an educational game that is
     appropriate for the lesson
 Materials
 Students will be using a computer to complete
     worksheets, games, and activities.
 Students will be using Microsoft Word to
     complete worksheets
 Students will be using Kidspiration to complete
     activities
 Students will be using PowerPoint to play an
     educational game
 Preview Materials
 The teacher will look through the worksheet and
ensure that the rhyming words are appropriate
     for your level of students
 The teacher will look through the PowerPoint to
ensure that the Hyperlinks and Slides work
     properly
 The teacher will show examples for the
     Kidspiration activities
 Prepare Materials
 The teacher will their personal computer and
projector to shows examples of the kidspiration
and how to navigate through the PowerPoint
 The teacher will help if it is really needed, but
would prefer for students to work on it
     themselves or ask a peer
 The teacher will make sure that the activities for
the lesson are pulled up on the computers to
make sure there is not confusion
 Prepare the environment
 Students will be sitting at assigned computers to
limit talking, but also next to students that could
     help each other if needed
 Students will be sitting all together so they can
share their Kidspiration Quest if time permits
 Students will be given 20 minutes in the prior
lesson to explore the program that will
mainly be used for this lesson
 Prior to this lesson seating arrangements may
be changed if there was a previous problem
  during the prior lesson
 Students will be learning about this topic
  prior to this lesson
 PProvide the Learning Experience
 The teacher will explain the objectives of the
     lesson
 The teacher will go through step by step how to
     complete the activities
 The students have a time limit of 50 minutes on
     the computer
 Students are able to ask each other for help
 Students will be on computers doing hands
on activities that address all three learning
styles so it appeals to all
 Students will be able to share their work if
  time permits
Objective 1:Demonstrate understanding of
spoken words, syllables, and sounds
(phonemes). Students will be able to recognize
rhyming words.

Evaluation 1: Most students were able to see
the similarities between words that rhyme and
their ending sounds.
Objective 2: Know and apply grade-level
phonics and word analysis skills in decoding
words. Students will be associating and
grouping words together.

Evaluation 2: Students were able to see that
words that had the same ending sound when
blended together rhyme.
Objective 3: The student will recognize and
recall the one to one correspondence between
most letters and sounds. Students will be
working on blending sounds.

Evaluation 3: Students start to recognize how
rhyming words work through similarities of
sounds.
