1. How to look for journal articles
using
SCIENCEDIRECT

2. • Go to library web page: http://www.lib.uct.ac.za
• Mouse over ‘Search & Find’ click on ‘Databases (A-Z)’

3. • From the A-Z list click on ‘S’
• Scroll down & click on ‘ScienceDirect’

4. Click on ‘Advanced Search’

5. Click on the
‘Journals’ tab

6. Type search term(s) in
the search boxes.

7. Tick the boxes that limit the
search to include only journal
articles.
You can limit your search by
date.
E.g. find articles published
between 1997 to present

8. Click the ‘Search’ button

9. Results of search
Click PDF to download the
full text of the article
