  2. 2. Introduction  Multi-awarded record producer John "Jellybean" Benitez is the president of Jellybean Music Group, a New York-based company that has worked with artists such as Whitney Houston and Madonna. He is also the executive producer of Studio 54 Radio, a 24/7, commercial-free channel devoted to classic dance and disco music. Jellybean Benitez is also a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). Since 2012, both organizations have merged to become SAG-AFTRA. Recently, SAG-AFTRA held its eighth annual Rock the City event on May 2. A wide range of personalities, from actors to labor leaders, gathered in SAG- AFTRA's New York City offices to socialize and find some common ground in their respective lines of work. SAG-AFTRA president Gabrielle Carteris believes that this event leverages the power of conversation in a communications-driven industry. The event was conceptualized over a decade ago by SAG-AFTRA executive vice president Rebecca Damon and New York local president Mike Hodge as a way to unite New York's labor leaders. It has since grown to include all facets of the entertainment and media industry.
