Dave has lectured extensively on these topics, served on numerous investor panels, has been interviewed by nearly 50 regional and national business reporters on the subjects of business planning and capital raising. In his eight years at Growthink, Dave has managed over 150 client engagements across all of Growthink's practice areas - strategic business planning, strategic market research, and investment banking. Dave has a history of successfully launching and growing businesses of all sizes. He was the founder and President of Emerge Juice & Nutrition Systems, a health food manufacturing and marketing firm. Dave also launched the Marketing Services division of New York based consulting firm PIRA Energy Group. At PIRA, Dave helped develop the original business plan for KeySpan Energy's Energy Service Division. Revenues for this Division now exceed $1 billion annually. His 7 years in senior management of emerging media companies and 12 years as an attorney in transactional entertainment law fuel his expertise in "message", growth, funding, operations, sales, marketing and the product development needs of emerging companies. His executive and transactional law experiences derive from Los Angeles and San Francisco and his international media experience includes projects in countries as diverse as Japan, South Korea, South Africa and France. His management roles include serving as CEO of TheScience.com, a San Francisco content company for online game-based "edu-tainment" and as COO of Playhouse Picture Studios, LLC, a Los Angeles-based theater-film media production company and live theater real estate developer. Lee has also served as an Executive Producer of two feature films and has arranged the financing and distribution of another dozen films and television productions. His fundraising experience with emerging companies includes a number of successful angel, seed and early-stage fundings. Lee is a former partner in two leading Los Angeles media law firms, served as a motion picture literary agent at the world's largest talent agency, has represented several Academy Award-winning writers and directors and has authored a half-dozen screenplays for Hollywood studios and networks. Prior to Growthink, Scott was a founder and principal of BizPlanIt, a professional consulting firm that assisted clients in achieving their financing and strategic objectives through the development of clear, concise and compelling business plans, financial projections, and investor presentations. From BizPlanIt's founding in 1996 through 2006, Scott personally led more than 100 business plan engagements for companies in nearly every industry and stage of development, helping clients facilitate debt and equity financings, mergers, acquisitions, and corporate spin-offs. Since 2003, Scott has been active as a principal in a real estate investment and development firm, as well as in the funding of private money and commercial mortgage transactions. Scott has previous experience at McGladrey & Pullen, a national public accounting firm, where he specialized in financial statement audits for middle market manufacturing, distribution and medical services companies. Emily joins Growthink after serving as a founding Principal of Linea Capital, the first investment bank and advisory services firm targeting domestic emerging companies catering to the U.S. Hispanic market. Emily sought capital sources for client companies in the media, financial services and consumer products sectors raising series A and B funds and expansion capital up to $15 million, sourced deals up to $20 million and perpetuated the firm's deal flow pipeline. She directed new business development for the firm, and identified potential investment opportunities for private equity, venture capital and hedge funds seeking to diversify their portfolios into domestic emerging markets. Emily also provided fundraising and strategic expertise to companies outside the Hispanic market in media, mobile technologies and film. Prior to Linea, Emily was regular commentator for CNNfn and CNBC, providing insight on breaking financial news and its impact on the stock market. As an M&A specialist, she was responsible for directing editorial coverage of international financial news in her role as Senior Editor of The Deal, a multimedia M&A news and analysis organization. 9. Experienced, Senior Engagement Team Deborah brings a wide range of experience to Growthink, including management consulting, public and private equity, venture capital, and entrepreneurship. Her career spans over 18 years and includes major global firms such as Goldman Sachs and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and a number start-up and emerging companies, including two of her own creation. She began her career as a management consultant focused on enhancing operations at Bankers Trust, and later went on to work as a senior consultant with Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC), where she served on a number of large engagements for clients such as AT&T. Deborah later joined Goldman Sachs, where she held a number of positions ranging from senior analyst to CFO of the Equity Institutional Sales group in New York. In addition to her finance and consulting experience, Deborah has extensive venture capital and entrepreneurial experience; she was CFO of a top venture firm, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, and later served as COO / CFO with Fremont Partners, a leveraged buyout firm. She is also the founder of two companies, the first, a management consulting firm, with both start-up and private equity clients, the second, a software firm, Ventanis, also focused on the needs of venture capital and start-up companies. Deborah earned her MBA from the University of Chicago with concentrations in Finance and Marketing, and her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Illinois. David brings a Venture Capital perspective as well, having interned at Murphree Venture Partners while earning an MBA, and from there, he spun out with a Murphree Ventures partner to co-found Advent Networks where he raised over $27M over 3 rounds of financing. David has personally raised venture financing over multiple deals in areas of telecommunications equipment, enterprise software, distributed computing software and industrial technologies. At these companies, Dave has held roles of CEO, COO, CFO and VP Sales and Marketing. David also has a background in technology commercialization having successfully licensed an internet security technology from CU Boulder to Secure64. Dave started his career at Intel in operational and corporate finance and lead financial planning for the startup and launch team of BiiN, an Intel/Siemens joint venture that resulted in funding of over $200M. After BiiN, Dave returned to Intel where he lead Intel's corporate capital budgeting.
