INTRODUCTION
•In 1662 robert studied the
relationship between the
volume and pressure of a
gas at constant temperature
DEFINITION
• The product of Pressure and volume of a fixed
mass of a gas is constant at a constant
temperature.
• FORMULA:-
• Volume <
1
𝑃𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒
V=
𝐾
𝑃𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒
or VP =K
Here “k” is proportionality constant the value of
“k” is same for the same amount of given gas
P1V1 = K Then P2V2=K
WHERE;-
P1= Initial pressure
P2 = final pressure
V1= Initial Volume
V2 =final volume
EPERIMENTATION VERIFICATION OFBOYLE’S
LAW
Let us take some mass of a gas in cylinder having a moveable piston and observe the effect of
increase of pressure on it’s volumewhen the pressure of 2atm pressure is applied.the volume
of gas reads a 1dm3.when pressure is increased to 4atm. The
volume of gas reducse to 0.5 dm3.when we
increased it at three times on 6atm it will be
0.33dm3 . And
when we increase it into
8atm its volume will be
0.25dm 3
When a calculate the product of
volume and pressure for this
experiment. The product of all these
experiment is constant at 2atm dm3.It
proves the “Boyle’s law”
