2. Aerial
Camera
Angle
An aerial camera angle is use to show imagery from a high angle enable to show
movement through the passage in which the camera is set in.
However I really liked how this was to portray the beginning of the day, by showing the
students walking in at the allocated time. For the documentary I am producing I feel
this will work sufficiently well, by showing the same aspect of showing arrival of the
day. Also portraying the beginning of the documentary by the impression of the
beginning of the day, showing the journey of the documentary.
3. Low Angle Shot
A Low angle shot is normally used to show status within the object,
however for this type of scene this is not the case. The angle they
have used is showing hidden camera footage allowing the students
to act and show there personalities without the influence of a
camera, portraying them differently. This is something that has
inspired me for my documentary, as I feel this is portray the object
in its true manner.
4. Mid Shot
I feel this shot is very appropriate towards the whole theme of the
documentary, also the shot engages you into the person straight
away as its not a busy background its very simple. I am inspired by
this to use this for the interviews I will use in my documentary as I
feel it will portray the theme in which will be spoken about in the
interview.
5. Close up Shot
At the beginning of this episode it shows what its like for the
teacher or a normal day, portraying the life of a teacher. I liked
how these used this close up to show this, in order to make sure
the audience are aware. This is something that I will take on into
my documentary in order to portray clearly what the subject is
doing.
6. Hash Tagging/Advertising
When analysing Educating Essex I felt this would be a good effect to
incorporate as it give the view the access of commenting or debating
about the programme, making the viewer feel involved into the
programme.
7. Voiceover Shots
When analysing the interviews
of the teachers, the producers
used an effect of giving
examples of what the
interviewee was talking about.
This is something I felt worked
well in order to make sure the
audience is aware of what he is
talking about. Engaging the
audience, making them feel
involved.
