PERSONAL STATEMENT
Through my business degree and operation of dance crews, I have gathered skills and experience
relating to the field of marketing and business in general. I would like to invite you to preview qualities
in this CV that I can bring to your organization.
EDUCATION

University of Regina, SK
2013 WHMIS Certificate, Faculty of Science

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
Leadership: With a background in street dance including hip-hop, I launched in 2014 the ALL
YOU CAN DANCE CREW. Over four years as team president I have choreographed steps and
coached a team of ten in the production of 10 shows. Production has involved setting schedules
and assigning roles. Furthermore, I have resolved conflicts among creative personalities.
Moreover, I have handled the sponsorship applications with the Student Union at the University
of Regina.
Resourcefulness: Upon commencing work at General Nutrition Center (GNC), I
independently learned how to manage the POS system including returns, exchanges, and gift
cards. Following 2 shifts of training I assumed responsibility for closing the store alone. During
slow periods at work I studied product knowledge and matters of nutrition including sugar
content, trans-fats and gluten so I was better positioned to match products to individual
consumer needs.
Customer Service & Sales: I worked 20 hours per week as a part-time employee in GNC. I
always met or exceeded sales targets set by the manager – at time exceeding sales of other
colleagues. I learned to read customers and customize my communication approach – cheerfully
engaging them yet providing a quiet space for them to think individually. I stayed on top of daily
specials and pricing changes to offer the best customer service. I excelled in customer service,
even with English as my second language.
Time Management: I meet frequently (up to daily) with the dance crewmembers when the
dance events were approaching. Concurrently I balanced up to 6 senior level university classes
2. involving hands on assignments – such as working on a Strategic Marketing consulting team to
provide assessments and recommendations for the CJTR radio station and the Regina Rams
football club.

PERSONAL INTERESTS
Singing: I love singing. Music is an important thing in my life. I like to challenge myself in
singing different styles of songs, and to perform them in special events. As with dancing, I
experienced in singing performance. It has helped me building my confidence.
Travelling: Visiting new cultures has been a great learning opportunity for me. I enjoy observing
differences in architecture, eating the local food, and visiting museums. My travel has enabled me
to gain a global perspective, augmenting my fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin.
