"BREAKTHROUGH". What does that word mean? Here is one definition: "A military term, meaning an attack that penetrates through an enemy's defenses into the rear area". How can God "breakthrough" into your life? Does He? Will He? How does He? Here is a personal story of how God broke through the walls of my life, or figuratively said, my camp, and got behind "enemy lines" and did some rearranging of things. Take a look at your surroundings, your camp. How does it look? Pretty good? I thought my did, but in reality, my camp was a mess. So, beware. You might not have a camp as strong as you think. Someone may be able to breathrough your "protective walls".

BREAKTHROUGH > > When I was lost and without a Savior, I was Your enemy.
You broke through the walls that I built and sent Your messengers into my camp. There, in my
home, on my job, and in my car, they brought your Truth to me who was once Your enemy.
BREAKTHROUGH > > Even while I was in my camp, my camp that outwardly
appeared to be a strong fortress, You showed me that I was in need of You and Your Truth.
My camp looked good - a new 1,300 square foot house that I had built on 1.3 acres of land in the
countryside; a powerful tractor to tend the yard and plow the snow in my driveway and even in
the street; tools, knowledge, and determination to build an addition to the house; a sporty black
car with red interior and fancy striping; a nice air conditioned Ford Supercab Pick-Up Truck
with a matching cap; season tickets to Penn State football games; a college degree that led me
to a career in engineering that had a salary that was above average; a job as a manager and
supervisor of people where I was involved with the design and construction of bridges; friends
that I led into good times and that I greatly laughed with. My camp, an external environment
that said I had it all together. My camp, where You broke through the walls and showed me
that the house I really lived in was a dilapidated mess.
BREAKTHROUGH > > You broke through into my camp, came to me at an opportune
time, and gave me the opportunity that allowed me to see that You were what I needed.
I responded and accepted Your call.
BREAKTHROUGH > > Even after accepting You, You continued to break through all
the walls and the doors in the environment that I had constructed. You were not quick. You
took what seems to be a long time in leading me. You allowed me to flounder without specific
instruction from human teachers of Your truth. I stumbled around not knowing what I was
supposed to do and how I was supposed act. But You continued in Your breakthrough.
BREAKTHROUGH > > Even after having been instructed in Your Truth by the guided
teachers of Your Word, even after my own seeking of Your Truth, even after beginning to see
the destiny that You have ordained for me, even after my camp that I had built with my hands
was completely dismantled, even after You had been building a new camp for me –
You continued to break through into the walled areas of my life.

BREAKTHROUGH > > Now, even in the midst of the continuing break though in my
life, You send me into the enemy's camp. You break through the walls of the camps of
others. You place me behind the enemy's lines to see the captives that are held there. You place
me there to bring them Your Truth. You open my eyes to show me that I am not there to destroy
them, the captives, but I am there to break through the enemy's schemes. I am there to be
Your vessel to bring a message of love that refuses to give up. I am there to bring a message of
forgiveness even when the captives are unforgiving to me and relentless in there persecution of
me. That is the same message that You brought to me when You came into my camp.

Away, get thee down, and thou shall come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the
priests and the people BREAK THROUGH to come up unto the LORD, lest he break forth
upon them." There was a time when we could not come into Your presence. There was a time
when you would not let the people break through to You. If they could have, they would have
perished, You would have broken forth on them.
