Q1. Why do we basically need health programs?
Health programs are to improve the health status of a country, which results
in higher life expectancy and healthier workers and obviously healthier
workers are more productive.
3. Because the government want to increase the standard of living. We have already
mentioned that healthier workers are more productive. They play a vital role in our
economy. As a result,
our human capital increases so the GDP/L increases the income
increases so basically the standard of living increases.

5. So now we can say that health programs are important
for the betterment of a country’s health which also has
a impact on the countries economy.
Important health programs in
Bangladesh
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), Government
of Bangladesh (GOB) has been implementing the Health Population
and Nutrition Sector Development Program (HPNSDP) for a period
of five years from July 2011 to June 2016.
6. Low rate of deliveries by skilled birth attendant.
High rates of neonatal deaths, malnutrition and
micronutrient deficiencies.
Emerging and re-emerging diseases and impact of
climate change.
Rise in non communicable diseases (NCD) including
cardio-vascular diseases, diabetes, cancer and injury
Diversification of family planning (FP) service and
high rate of discontinuation and unmet needs.
Ineffective urban primary health care service delivery.
Low utilization of public health facilities by the poor.
Development activities of HPNSDP are being implemented by MOHFW, DGHS, DGFP and other agencies
through 32 operational plans. World Bank and JICA are providing credit and grants; whereas other DPs (DFID,
SIDA, USAID, CIDA, EC, AusAID, Kfw, WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, GIZ, UNAIDS, GFATM, GAVI, etc.) are
providing grants. Total DP contribution to the development budget is about 61.29%.
7. Compared to the affluent countries of the
world Bangladesh obviously have less job
opportunities. In fact there are some subjects
which has no existence in the universities of
Bangladesh. Such as:
