1. The image is of the DJ, Avicii. It is a close up shot of
him and high key lighting is used to bring a bright atmosphere to the shot. The majority of the light is
coming from the left which then casts a shadow behind him to the right hand side. He has a stern,
concentrated look on his face, this could have connotations with his career and how concentrated
he is to do well. The use of a close up shot means that we feel on more of a personal and intimate
level with Avicii. This gives a more informal feel to the audience.
The image of the artist, Ben Howard. It is a long shot of him sat on a chair looking up towards a beam
of lgiht, this could signify many things. For example it could represent that the source of light is the
“Top” of the music industry and he is looking up towards in a way that, that is his aim in life, to reach
the top of the music industry. Low key lighting is used within the shot, the only light in the shot is
focused on Ben Howard, his draws the attention of the reader towards him. From first view it would
seem that he is sat in some form of old, rural building i.e a saw mill. This helps represent the genre
of music he plays, Ben Howard is an acoustic/indie artist and the setting of a rural area is perfect for
this laid back style of music.

2. This image is of the group
Rudimental, who produce music in the genre of Drum and Bass. The setting to the photo is clearly an
urban scene with the group sat on the steps of a building with graffiti covering the majority of the
walls and doors. Also the clothes that the group is wearing is another representation of the genre of
music they produce, the baseball caps, trainers, jeans and hooded tops give a clear showing of their
style and genre of music. It is a long shot with the use of high key lighting to bring a bright mood and
emphasis to the colours within the shot. The light is coming from the right hand side of the shot, this
provides a slight shadow behind the group.
Ths image of the rapper, Drake. He is one of the most
popular artists around at the monent. The image is a medium shot of Drake from the waist up, he is
stood square on to the camera and he is stood in quite an aggressive manner as if he giving the
impression that he is at the top of his game. He is wearing a plain black t-shirt but he is wearing a
gold chain and watch on his wrist. These stand out from the black, to the audience this shows the
money that he owns. The lighting is a mix of high key and low key, the background is darker and the
high key lighting from the right hand side of the camera gives definition to Drake and makes him
stand out from the background. Because there is no setting or backdrop to the photo, it means the
audiences main focus is on Drake and Drake alone.

3. This image is of the band, Mumford and Sons.
They are a folk music band so the setting of this photo being outdoors is a stereotypical place but
works well. The clothes they are wearing is different for each member of the band but they all have
a very smart/casual look to them. It could also be said that the clothes they wear are very
rural/classic and stereotypical to the genre of music. They are wearing jeans of some form, boots,
big belt buckles and shirts. This could be seen as stereotypical to the genre of folk music. The lead
singer is wearing sunglasses which indicate that the photo shoot took place on a warm, summers
day.
