Over the past two years, CRE strategies have become more cost-driven and productivity has become an important goal. Procurement involvement in CRE decisions has solidified, though collaboration with other functions has been slower than expected. Most CRE professionals expect greater centralization and control over the next three years, along with increased outsourcing and shared services integration across functions like HR, IT, procurement and finance. Change management is also expected to be an increasingly important driver of workplace strategies.
