Surroundings make
a Difference
FThe global Wellness Industry is rising at a high rate. Now a days, people are becoming more and more
conscious about/regarding their health. A huge number of individuals are visiting the health care centers,
gyms, health classes, dietary & nutritional consultants, and many other wellness-focused practices on a
daily basis. People are making sports, a part of their daily curriculum. According to various researches, the
demand of routine health check-up is increasing rapidly, and as per the necessity, corporate world is
stepping with the flow towards wellness.
The organizations are accepting the demand of wellness programs for which they are conducting several
types of activity sessions at their workplaces that refreshes their employee’s mind and inspires them to
work again with a clear objective. Various organizations are taking actions regarding wellness of their
employees by conducting different wellness programs and making it mandatory for each and every
employee. This step of employers has shown a noticeable shift in the behavior of the employees. This
behavioral change in the employees is eventually helping to improve the productivity and growth rate of
the organizations.
Meditation and Delayed Gratification also plays a key role in wellness industry. Both of these activities
simplifies the life of an individual whether it's an employer or an employee. Every mind is different but
meditation helps to increase the ability of each of them. Delayed Gratification theory works on the
principle of the human tendency of maintaining patience amidst provoking situations.
“
or a Rising Corporate Empire, Wellness is the Key”.
5. Delayed gratification implies that ‘Holding the urge for an instant gratification is not just the key to
wealth but civilization itself.’ Or, we can say having the behavior of patience leads to success which
helps the employees to focus and dedicate themselves to their work. It bars the mistakes they made
due to the impatience to complete and reveal the stress of work in a short period of time. This
behavior can be generated with the meditation too. It makes the individual psychologically strong
and improves the ability to work in the condition of extreme pressure and increase the desire to learn
more even in the worst situations on the work floor and in their life as well.
In 2015, statistics of Global Wellness Economy Monitor reflected a worth of US$3.7 trillion
transactions in global wellness industry and at recent, health expenditures are about $7.5 to $8 trillion
globally. Several firms are also listing their presence towards the wellness program’s requirements.
They are expending an estimated worth of US$50 billion for workplace wellness programs. It is
expected to grow 7 percent annually till 2025.
So with great enthusiasm, Insights Success has shortlisted “The 10 Best Corporate Wellness
Service Providers of 2018”. Featuring our cover story is Dynamic DNA Labs which serves globally

THE
Cover Story
12. ynamic DNA Labs was established in 2015 as a
DDNA research and testing facility, headquartered in
Springfield, MO (Missouri). The primary goal of
the company at the time of establishment was to advance
the field of genetics through high-impact research studies,
using sophisticated molecular tools and a staff of highly
trained & brilliant scientists. This is what Dynamic DNA
Labs did, and this is what it continues to do, and just like
every growing organization, Dynamic DNA Labs has
evolved and adapted to its environment.
Dynamic DNA Labs maintains its passion and engagement
in research and literature publication, however its focus has
shifted to more of a direct-to-consumer, health and wellness
centered brand. In addition to research, the company offers
a variety of DNA testing products that aim to help
individuals discover themselves by exploring their genetic
code and using it to their advantage. The mission and goal
of Dynamic DNA is to promote positive change in people’s
lives, one sequence at a time, ultimately leading to a
healthier, happier and more productive society.
Unique Amenities
Dynamic DNA Labs provides unique services. As it is a
research lab and a DNA testing lab as well, Dynamic DNA
Labs conducts all of its testing in-house, and does not
outsource any of its work. It promises and assures that it
will never sell or distribute its customers’ data in any
situation.
In addition to its research solutions and capabilities
including DNA sequencing, gene expression, contamination
studies, epigenetic analysis, fluorescent and electron
microscopy, microbial identification etc., Dynamic DNA
Labs offers a wide range of direct-to-consumer genetic
testing products including:
Personalized Medicine Reporting: Personalized Medicine
(also known as Pharmacogenomics or “PGx”) utilizes
genetic analysis to determine how a person will react to
different medications. This medical DNA testing virtually
eliminates the possibility of adverse drug reactions,
eliminating the trial-and-error approach to selecting an
effective medication and decreasing the risk of life-
threatening side effects.
DNA Nutrition Panel: The nutrition DNA test will help to
discover optimal diet type for weight loss; reactions to
gluten, caffeine, alcohol, and lactose; predispositions for
metabolic rate, cholesterol & blood sugar; and determine
nutritional needs for vitamins & folate.
DNA Fitness Panel: The fitness DNA test will help to
discover the best exercise program for weight loss; key
traits for muscle energy, recovery, and fatigue; insulin and

DNA Skin Panel: The skin DNA panel helps you
optimize your skin care routine with targeted
treatments, maintain healthier skin with lifestyle and
dietary improvements, treat skin conditions to which
one is genetically susceptible, and correct nutritional
deficiencies that impact skin health.
Ancestry Testing: Ancestry DNA testing offers an
unprecedented window into the past, allowing an
individual to uncover his/her heritage in a way that
no traditional research method can compare.
Whether the one is just starting to investigate his/her
heritage, or are a seasoned genealogist, these DNA
findings open a door to his/her family history.
Paternity and Familial Testing: Paternity testing
can be done by using the Human Identification
(HID) process. HID technology provides the
capability of determining a wide-range of human
relationships. This includes paternity testing, sibling-
ship testing, unknown sample identification, and
infidelity testing. People no longer have to allow
nagging questions to linger in their mind. With this
technology and scientific experts, one can get the
needed answers.
DNA Portraits/Artwork: There are many ways to
depict family and no better way to display
interconnectedness and preserve individuality than
by creating a family DNA portrait. Being able to
compare the genes that are shared between parent
and child on a canvas displays an insightful glimpse
into the biology of someone’s family.
A Highly Decorated Leader
Austin O’Reilly, Founder & Scientist of Dynamic
DNA Labs, received his master’s degree in
Molecular Biology with an emphasis in genetics
from Texas Christian University in 2010 and then
moved on to work in a crime laboratory in south
Florida as a DNAAnalyst. His job was to analyze
DNA evidence from crime scenes, compare the
profiles to suspect samples, and testify as an expert
witness in criminal court as to his findings. He
moved back to his hometown of Springfield, MO, to
take a Research Scientist position for the Center for
Biomedical and Life Sciences at Missouri State
University, primarily focusing on neurological cell
changes in response to various drugs and stimuli. His
passion for research and discovery is rooted deeply
in the foundation of Dynamic DNA Labs and is very
evident today in the ongoing research projects and
literature publications they continue to pursue.
14. its testing panels is $149. When it comes to providing tests
for corporations and wellness programs, it’s important that
it offers an affordable and discounted package, fully
acknowledging the fact that not everyone has that level of
expendable income. For this reason, Dynamic DNA Labs
incentivizes corporate wellness use by extending a
significant discount to employees of the corporations it has
partnered with. The end goal is getting to the point where
corporate executives fully understand the economic and
productive value that DNA testing can have for their
company and workforce, realizing that value, and
subsequently offering to cover a portion or all of the testing
cost for their employees.
O’Reilly states, “I think we’re a number of years away from
those latter scenarios, but the good news is that more and
more research is being done every day into the utility and
value of the testing, which will in time turn the tide towards
a more wellness-centric corporate world. It’s all about
creating awareness and continuing to share the countless
success stories we get to hear so often. We are getting
there!”
Contribution in the Corporate Universe
Dynamic DNA Labs is offering its health-centric DNA
panels to large corporations as a part of a Corporate
Wellness initiative. Specifically, the DNA Nutrition Test,
DNA Fitness Test and Personalized Medicine Reporting are
the three panels, as per the company, are most useful for
promoting a healthy, happy and productive workplace
environment. With a vast amount of research and literature
supporting the information in their reports, the team of
Dynamic DNA Labs is confident that these products truly
unlock a knowledge base which is crucial for employees to
operate at their maximum potential. The downstream effects
for a company are widespread and extremely positive,
ranging from reduced healthcare costs to increased
productivity and happiness. There have been several studies
that show the value of implementing DNA testing in the
corporate wellness space, with one study showing a
reduction in employer healthcare costs by $122 per
employee, per month, as well as decreased levels of
triglycerides.
Dynamic DNA Labs offers complimentary consultations to
review the reports with its clients, ongoing support after the
test is complete, and follow up recommendations on the
frequently asked question of, “What to do next?”
Customer’s Evaluations
“At first, I was unsure what to expect with my Fitness and
Nutrition DNA testing. As someone who struggles to be
motivated to exercise as well as eating well balanced, the
more guidance I have to a healthy lifestyle is a great
motivator to me. The process was quite simple, and I was
O’Reilly said, “The future of preventative healthcare is in
advanced molecular testing. Our goal is to promote positive
change in lives around the world by utilizing cutting-edge
DNA technology”
As an active adventurer, athlete and scientist, combined
with years of research and self-bio-hacking, O’Reilly’s
vision for expanding into the DNA testing world came from
the firsthand recognition that no two people are alike. There
was a massive undertaking of genome-wide association
studies, also known as whole genome association study
(WGA study, or WGAS), which are observational studies of
a genome-wide set of genetic variants in different
individuals to see if any variant is associated with a trait,
which to this day are still shedding light on the million-
dollar question of “what makes each of us unique?” It’s
been a slow process, but Dynamic DNA Labs is now armed
with the necessary data to connect genotype to phenotype.
This understanding allows O’Reilly to make significant
contributions in a range of areas including medication
response, nutrition, fitness, ancestry, personality, skin care,
and many others.
Hurdles in the Journey
The biggest challenge Dynamic DNA Labs faces is
conveying the utility and value of DNA testing. The
company believes that skeptics are quick to say that the
results are not accurate or that the research is not quite there
yet, but in response to both of those criticisms: (1) The
testing it provides is proven to be more than 99% accurate;
and (2) The literature it uses to draw its conclusion is based
on years of scientific research and peer-reviewed journal
articles that have been accepted into the scientific
community as knowledge.
Another challenge that comes in front of Dynamic DNA
Labs is the cost of the test. Dynamic DNA Labs is very
competitively priced in the industry; the average price for

15. able to get my test results quicker then they stated. The real highlight of this company is in the results. It is not a simple 8
page report. For my two tests, I received over 50 pages of data to live a healthier lifestyle based on my DNA. All of a sudden,
my current diet of low-carb was not what my DNA says I should be...I should focus on low-fat. I have been working on
cardio, but my DNA is responsive to HIIT training. After one month, by changing my nutrition as well as my exercise
schedule, I have been able to lose 8 pounds. I was very happy with my investment as I am not trying to see what works for
me; I know better what should work for me.” – Jennifer Colwell, Springfield, MO
“When I think of companies that are innovative and at the leading edge of their industry, Dynamic DNA Labs is at the top of
my list which is a very forward thinking organization that has a bright future. Keep up the great work!” – Chase Banta,
Springfield, MO
“I’d like to thank everyone at Dynamic DNA Labs for helping add to the quality of life for my nephew and his family. My
nephew was born with CP and Autism...and after years of being treated with various combinations of medications with little
or no "good" effects we reached out to Dynamic DNA Labs for help. The research with regard to how the human body reacts
positively or negatively to medications or combinations of medications helped relieve our nephew’s sometimes over animated
mood swings. The researchers worked with his doctors to determine which medications his body could process and which
ones he could not. The result is a night and day difference in his and his families’quality of life. We cannot thank them
enough.” – Pete Maxwell, Denver, CO
“Amazing information about your individual characteristic and traits... especially the Medicine Panel, which tells you which
medicines work for you and which don’t, as well as dosages for your DNA type. It provides tons of interesting and useful info
in the Fitness and Nutrition panel reports. It’s totally simple too!! Very service minded lab and not hard to do, plus its
permanent information you can use forever.” – Tricia Headley, St. Louis, MO

20. Every business owner and executive comes to the
realization and fear that they don’t know what they
don’t know at some point in the game. To leap
beyond this fundamental hurdle, wise leaders lean on
experts to help fill in the gap. Experts such as CPAs,
attorneys, bankers, mentors, and consultants are routinely
sought by successful business owners for guidance, advice,
and support that can be promptly made effective. Gaps in
business are essentially analyzed to determine the best,
quickest, simplest, or most cost-effective solution, which is
then developed and finally implemented by consultants in
various niches every minute of the day.
Consulting is a big industry for a reason. Businesses have a
high risk of failure. Failure is easy, and failure is hard. With
the assistance of a consultant, businesses have a much
better chance of survival. Let’s take a look at how
consulting can work at every stage of a company.
Start-up / Pre-revenue
This stage of a business is filled with passion and dreams.
The owner is typically a technician within the industry
breaking free from the constraints of their boss or is a
dreamer of great things in general. Problems arise when the
many components of running a business the right way
interfere and bog down this solopreneur. Seemingly simple,
but highly important, responsibilities such as accounting,
operations, and marketing can quickly overwhelm and lead
to failure.
Bringing in a consultant at this stage or prior to start up can
save the solopreneur from a tremendous amount of stress.
The consultant can walk the owner through the hurdles of
business with ease and experience. Establishing systems,
creating procedures, and building plans for sales and
marketing will prepare the busy start-up for successful
growth through to the small business phase.
Mom & Pop Shop
Mom & Pop Shops are what we refer to small businesses
with 1-25 employees. This may be a small generational
business or a growing start-up that is hiring friends and
family to help get the job done. One day, the goals become
too large and the owners take on more than they can handle
in an effort to grow. What these owners don’t realize is that
they need to have defined systems in place, along with
communication, leadership, and a growth plan to move
beyond Mom & Pop Shop status to Small Business status
without suffering collapse.
Small Business
The small business typically has 1-100 employees which
may also include many family and friends. Some systems
are in place, yet there lacks organization and
communication leading the owner down a path of “too
many chiefs” or not enough oversight. At this stage,
business owners may discover they have a lot of people
doing the same thing, no formal processes and a lot of fires
to put out. Stress once again takes hold of the business
owner in a way that may make them question closing shop
and going back into the workforce.
Consulting at these stages require in-depth analysis of
where the company currently exists on the spectrum and
identifying gaps in the foundation of the organizational
structure. Analysis will require a look at financial
performance, operations workflow and processes, systems
integration and utilization, human resources suite of
knowledge and procedures, centralized standard operating
procedures, marketing plans and strategy, and more.
Analyzing each component of the business will bring to
light top layer and secondary issues that the consultant will
prioritize to match urgency and effective organizational
modeling for proper implementation. Business owners
should expect this process to take some time, but in the end
The ROLE

21. the business will operate like a well-oiled machine ready
for growth.
Mid-size Business & Enterprise
The Mid-size Business has successfully identified the needs
of a growing business. Most companies of this size
(101- 999 employees) and of the Enterprise size (1,000+
employees) have established policies and procedures,
human resources, systems integration with maximized
utilization, and have a plan to move forward. These areas
will experience ongoing expansion enhancement over time.
Mid-size companies will start to departmentalize and create
an executive team for improved oversight and strategy
development. Problems Mid-size companies face are
keeping everyone working toward the same goal,
communication, effective leadership and management
development, mergers and acquisitions, continuous
improvement of systems and operational workflow and
recruiting for longevity all while staying on top of their next
strategic move and pacing change. Enterprises continue to
refine and silo roles within the company; however they
experience many of the same issues a mid-size company
does.
At Mid-size and Enterprise level, Consultants are brought
into a company on a project basis and will be focused on a
niche of service. This is when the: Branding Consultant is
brought in to develop a brand or revitalize a brand for a
segment of the business; Lean Specialists are brought in to
examine one segment of the manufacturing process; System
Analyst is brought in to create functional APIs to connect
the 25 software programs used by the company to prevent
errors and reduce time wasted on duplicating entries; and
possibly, Coaches are brought in to develop a mid-level
management team.
There is a need and a place for Consultants at every stage of
business, even before the first signs of failure. Bringing a
Consultant into the company earlier in the process will
make the transition to the next big step easier and the
long-term outcome of the business much better. Although
business owners may have a difficult time justifying the
cost of consulting, especially if funds are limited, the
desired end result has greater potential to be realized in a
shorter timeframe. Companies that have successfully
worked with consultants see the value of their work in the
overall success of the business and often retain consultants
for future projects.

22. DHS Group
Integrating Corporate Wellness
with Population Health
Nowadays the corporate wellness
market is growing at a steady pace,
with increase in inclusion of
corporate wellness services, due to the factors
such as increasing health care costs, corporate
profit, and focus on employee retention.
Therefore, numerous corporate wellness service
providers in various industry verticals have
started implementing wellness programs for their
clients’ employees. Dynamic Health Strategies
(DHS) Group is one of them.
DHS Group is a trustworthy service provider in the world
of employee benefits and wellness solutions. Founded in
the year 1997 and headquartered at Houston, Texas, its
mission and purpose are supported by one prevailing goal -
elevating population health. It works with employers, health
plans and solution providers to manage the health data in a better
way in order to improve employee’s health and patient experience
while minimizing the cost. The company also provides healthcare
analytics consulting services to help employers to identify and
implement solutions to achieve their benefit program objectives.
DHS Group offers a variety of cutting-edge tools and expertise to the
market that gives employers and providers the key insights and boosts
employees’ engagement. On the other hand, it also offers the
employers a fully integrated corporate benefit and wellness solution
suite known as HealthSpective®. This suite allows them to
access everything from plan design, benefit administration,
population health analytics to a complete wellbeing
system.
An Expert’s Journey
Jim Pritchett, the CEO of DHS Group holds

well-being is your most
crucial asset. We help you
take care of it in a fun and
engaging way.
A Reformative Platform
®
DHS Group’s HealthSpective platform allows employers
to take control of their employee population health data,
which is often heavily guarded by carriers and other data
vendors. This gives employers a fully integrated and vendor
neutral platform to understand and manage all the essential
working parts together, to successfully improve employee
population health while reducing costs. Using this platform
with its convenient single sign-on and integrated
dashboards, employers can have a glimpse into their own
employee population health data and gain crucial insights
into their employee’s health, wellness decisions and how
they are utilizing these benefits.
Besides, part of the DHS Group’s wellbeing system is an
affordable wearable device known as Movband, with
programs including team challenges to engage employees
®
and spur physical activity. Herein, the HealthSpective
integrates data from an employee’s Movband, or from most
of the fitness tracker/wearable.
Recently, the company started offering a dual benefit to
employers, employees and their providers with the support
of its DHS SecurePass app which gives patients the ability
to check into medical appointments via a kiosk, biometric
reader or website, and to easily share their health data. This
is used to dramatically improve the patient experience and
also helps providers while speeding up their registration
process.
In the future, for tighter connectivity and expanded
offerings, DHS Group has plans that can allow hospitals to
utilize SecurePass app in conjunction with employers who
®
are using DHS Group’s HealthSpective platform. Further,
®
by linking with HealthSpective , health systems can find
and attract employers and clients for direct contracting
purposes.
Future Perception
The future of Corporate Wellness is greatly personalized.
With the invention of apps and smartphones, employees are
expecting both convenience and a more personalized
experience. Hence, DHS Group is designing all its solutions
with personalization at the top of its mind and focusing on
engaging employees and improving the patient experience.
A Satisfied Clientele
“[Students] having a goal of activity to achieve every day
required them to be creative in how they were active. This
skill is something that they can take with them beyond the

cofounders lost almost 40 kilos since we started
working on the project.
Initially, we wanted to create a platform that
would allow people to monitor their loved ones’
health data and receive alerts if their family
members or close friends weren’t feeling well.
However, we realized that the market of medical
wearables was not mature enough and there were no
accurate 24/7 affordable end-user devices. So, we’ve decided
to start with fitness, as fitness and medicine are 2 sides of one
coin, where, fitness is preventing health problems, whereas medicine
deals with them.

information from different data sources while getting extra
motivation from the community and friendly competitions
among friends, family and, of course, co-workers within a
corporate wellness space.
The best thing about inKin is that it’s free for individual
users! Our corporate wellness platform is also available in
both free and business plans, making our solution
affordable for companies and institutions of different sizes
and budgets. That is especially valuable for charity events
and initiatives.
Describe the experiences, achievements or lessons learnt
that have shaped the journey of the company.
inKin is our first startup, so we had to learn and adapt fast.
For instance, when we just started, we wanted to build as
many features as possible and make them as perfect as it
got. Then we realized that this approach wouldn’t take us
anywhere and that we need to release new features as
quickly as possible to get the feedback from our customers
instead of building sophisticated features that no
one would use.
Hence, we first built a community for our B2C users and
then, based on that, created a wellness platform solution
that allows launching a private wellness space for groups.
inKin is often used for charitable causes as well, helping
teams to literally step up their game and raising funds for
amazing and important causes.
What are the challenges faced while providing
Corporate Wellness services and how is inKin Social
Fitness serving to tackle them?
One of the main challenges that we face is the lack of
understanding of how important data tracking and
collection is. Our clients come to us because they like the
flexibility and the variety of our motivation tools such as
different challenges and competitions modes, duels, ranking
system. But what the vast majority of them do not yet
understand is that the core value of platforms such as inKin
is the data - the before and after results. Gamification and
fun widgets help engage employees and inspire them to get
healthier. But it’s the data and its analysis that will help HR
managers to measure the success of the corporate wellness
implementation and, for instance, renegotiate premiums
with the insurance company.
That is why it’s essential to create sustainable and
longlasting corporate wellness programs with data tracking
and not just episodic one-month challenges that may give a
temporary boost but won’t significantly affect employees’
overall well-being.
What according to you could be the potential future of
Corporate Wellness services and how does inKin Social
Fitness envision sustaining its competency?
Corporate wellness programs should help not only create
awareness and inspire employees to lead a healthier
lifestyle but also be aimed at changing employees’
behavioral patterns and helping develop healthy habits
through monitoring their vitals and understanding their
body better.
When you have all that data about yourself, you can share it
with such potentially interested third parties as insurance
companies, pension funds, doctors and carers, and
concerned family members.
We will strive to create more features for employees’
motivation, healthy lifestyle education and development
that will help both corporate wellness facilitators to launch
effective and engaging programs easily and their staff to
change their behavioral patterns when it comes to taking

Marketing
he absence of pharma brands on social media creates a significant void of reputable healthcare information to aid
Tpatients,” writes Dawn Lacallade, LiveWorld’s Chief Social Strategist.
Social media infiltrate virtually every facet of an individual’s digital life. Today, patients are using social media as a major
source of information and healthcare research. Thus, it is essential that pharma companies should be present on social media
to provide full and accurate information to the consumers. To comprehend how social media can assist patients, it is crucial
to understand what compels people to use social media as a source of information.
Social media allows interaction among people which involves exchange and creation of information. It is the perfect conduit
for pharmaceutical companies to connect with their customers, patients and physicians.
According to the current FDA regulations, pharma companies are not able to easily join in a conversation to provide accurate
and balanced information. Regulations dictate that, in a single social post, brands are required to provide precise facts on the
benefits and hazards associated with conditions and products. Due to the character limitations on many social media
platforms, most pharma companies prefer to stay out of the conversation. This results in circulation of falsified information.
This information can be either marginally inaccurate or significantly harmful.

27. Although the communication of pharmaceutical industries is highly
regulated, they are gradually adopting social media platforms to reach and
interact with consumers and healthcare professionals. Here are some of
the top social media practices to look out for:
Crafting Customer Experience
Several marketers think that their job is finished once the sales team
takes over, but in reality, it is just the beginning. The way people
experience your brand will impact the way they think about you, which
will have an enormous effect on the success of your company in
the long run. Devoting a part of the marketing budget to
nurture the existing clientele will make their experience
splendid and thus promote brand loyalty. It is also crucial
to respond whenever your brand in mentioned publicly,
whether positively or negatively, which will help
cultivate a strong and lasting relationship with your
customers. Younger generations are increasingly
withdrawing from traditional social media platforms
and adopting more innovative channels that are more
intimate in the way of communication. To keep up with
this challenge, companies need to find a way to automate the
process wherever possible.
Regulating Content
Pharma companies need to develop content marketing strategies that merge each
piece of content on every channel with their organization’s objectives and
customers’ needs. Creators need to have a clear business objective including the
value that will be delivered to distinct audiences. All companies need to have a
social media compliance officer who will work closely with a corporate legal
counsel and develop a complete strategy and decide if there will be consolidated
social media posting or if individual employees will have the consent to
participate. And lastly, it is critical that all employees understand their role in
corporate social media and be trained on the rules.
Overall Integration
Pharma companies should stop thinking about content marketing and social media as
add-ons. To boost their outcome for clients, content and social marketing need to be a part
of almost every program. To develop a fully integrated program, companies need to involve
influencers and content marketers during the initial stages. Implementing an organized
approach to content and moderation will not only optimize the processes, but also aid in assuring
authorities that all the bases are covered to protect and provide value for the brand.
Investing in Employees
An independent survey discovered that 72% of social media users expect response within an
hour from the brands they follow. This has caused brands to start heavily investing in cross-
functional social media teams that can keep up with the increasing number of client pings

predicted to be a game-changer in the coming days. However this cannot be forced, it is essential for employees to want to
share company posts, and along with this the content has to resonate with their own audiences.
Influencer Marketing
Influencer marketing will continue to develop and become an even more established part of the strategy. Currently many
brands try influencer marketing and fail as it is not easy to find effective influencers. Additional data will help in selection
of the right influencers and analyze the results from influencer campaigns. Today, in healthcare, influencers are often
regular people. Some are directly affected by a disease or are being treated with a specific product, while others have
gained a lot of knowledge about a condition and are considered as Subject Matter Experts. The common trend is to select
someone who has an ever-increasing community of followers who value their opinion.
Numerous companies still think of social media as merely a marketing tool which is not true anymore. Consumers learn
about products on different social networks and seek customer service on messaging channels. Moreover, good
storytelling has always been an essential part of effective marketing. But social media is changing the way audiences
consume stories and pharma companies will be required to keep up with the evolution of social storytelling if they want to
remain relevant.
Yet there is still a note of caution with compliance being the foremost priority of pharmaceutical companies. But as
industries are starting to adopt social media without clear regulatory guidance, remaining compliant will be the main
challenge to face.

30. An Integrated Approach
to Financial Wellness
Everyone loves a win-win situation; the
problem is that they are so hard to find.
The employer-employee tug-of-war over
pay and benefits is a prime example of how an
advantage for one side requires a concession
from the other.
However, that is not always the case. One
woman’s revolutionary approach to delivering
incisive, high-impact financial wellness
programs is electrifying workplace relations,
boosting productivity, and changing lives for the
better.
Her name is Denise Winston and she is the Founder
and CEO of Money Starts Here.
Learning, Doing, Teaching
Denise was thrown in at the deep end, living on her own at
the age of 16. The early series of real-world money
challenges she faced laid the foundation upon which she built a
three-decade career in banking and financial services.
As a banker, Denise had extensive interactions with people from
diverse backgrounds and from every socioeconomic status. The
encounters revealed that too many people share an uncannily similar,
misinformed approach to finances. Denise simultaneously discovered
in herself a natural ability to unravel these intricacies for her clients and
empower them to make better money decisions.
It led her to realize that she could foment true financial freedom and bring
about tangible change by teaching the basics of personal finance. Money
Starts Here was a natural progression from that epiphany.
A Platform Like No Other
Money Starts Here is unlike any product or service that has
come before - its cloud platform is a structured
amalgamation of them all. Its focus is on education and
connecting employees to the benefits their employer
offers through a Workplace Financial Wellness
Program.
To foster meaningful financial health, Money
Starts Here programs perform as a financial
resource, engagement tool, and more. It
comprises a platform, a range of resources, and
diverse financial topics. One of its most popular
components is the online video courses that range
from 10 minutes to one hour.
However, Denise has been careful to ensure the platform is
completely agnostic and independent of any external product or
service providers that would present a conflict of interest. Her
unwavering motivation is the welfare of her clients and their
employees.

integrated approach
to nancial wellbeing.
The tremendous success it has achieved with clients stems
from its value proposition, which straddles the interests of
both employees and employers. Organizations make
massive investments in benefits for their employees but
their full potential is rarely – if ever – unlocked by staff.
Money Starts Here gives every employee a comprehensive
overview of the full range of employer-sponsored benefits,
including health insurance and voluntary benefits. It affords
every individual the power to make smart, confident money
decisions based on facts and data.
“Financial literacy is more important than ever, largely
because the sheer variety of options can be so confusing,”
explains Denise, “Without the right knowledge and skill set,
employees lose purchasing power and the ability to secure
basic needs. This can have a devastating effect on families,
schools, businesses, and communities.”
Through Money Starts Here, every employee in the
organization gains instant access to all the resources the
employer has established. It grants them the freedom to
fully utilize the programs for their unique financial
circumstances. The system presents opportunities to learn to
budget, save money for emergencies, manage debt, and
avoid predatory lending practices.
Naturally, the resulting easing of the financial burden makes
for happier employees who understand and appreciate the
company’s commitment to their wellbeing. This, in turn,
translates into a more productive workplace, which is
conducive to the company’s progress.
Such objectives are invaluable in an increasingly
competitive battle for the best talent. When an investment
of time, effort, and energy from the company is readily
apparent, it strengthens employees’ sense of loyalty.
All-Round Efficiency
The Money Starts Here formula for success is a multi-
pronged approach. The central thrust consists of an
aggregated outline of all current employee benefits. It is
complemented with additional wellness products and
services a company offers.
The platform is anchored in cutting edge technology,
leveraging the power and reach of big data to reveal trends
in employee uptake and use. Using a unified data stream,
the company overcomes the problem of information and
communication overload.
All participation data is transformed into actionable content
which the company can use to focus its investments in
benefits. The key takeaways are clarity and simplicity, two
factors which are imperative to implementing any plan,
regardless of organization or size.
Meanwhile, employees benefit from a responsive system
that is geared to their individual priorities. Assisting
employees with their most pressing financial challenges is
by no means a concept in isolation. It dramatically
improves communication and even accelerates overall staff
participation in programs.
When staff members are healthier and better understand and
use their benefits, the company’s healthcare costs and tax
liability can be reduced. A similar trend often follows with
disability and workers’ compensation claims.
The Money Starts Here platform contains all the basic
budgeting, debt management, and retirement topics but that
is just the surface of its real value. It has been designed with
an integral engagement approach to keep learners
motivated, too. It gives them the ability to choose their own
financial path or join others in monthly online group
sessions.
No Reason Not to
Once implemented, a good financial wellness program will
trigger an almost immediate spike in productivity and a
corresponding drop in healthcare claims. Collectively, these
two factors can account for savings of tens of thousands of
dollars, tangible results for everyone involved.
Conversely, delaying the implementation of a program will
exact a toll on the company and the individual.
Any corporation or organization committed to building a
strong, stable team of employees cannot afford to look past
such cogent factors.

Health Since Inception
Committed to provide objective and
trustworthy information on all aspects of
health and wellness, StepJockey was
founded in 2013. The company is an evidence-
based business and is firmly focused on a
‘small steps’ approach to improved health.
The company was seed-funded by the UK
Department of Health to help combat
sedentary behavior, one of the biggest single
health risks for office workers. It is now backed
by private investors and has a fantastic portfolio
of health-conscious blue-chip employer clients,
ranging from international banks, government
departments and institutions to prestige building
owners and asset managers all around the world.
In an interview with Insights Success, CEO of
StepJockey, Zarir (Zed) Vakil, has shed some of the
interesting story related to the organization.
So, below are the highlights of the interview between Zed and
Insights Success.
Give a brief overview of the company, its uniqueness and its
vision.
StepJockey is a leading workplace health and wellness company that
has been revolutionizing employee wellness through a range of
powerful, engaging evidence-based programs. Our work inspires
healthier futures in a climate where sedentary behavior is becoming an
increasingly prominent health epidemic.
With the advances in technology over the last few decades, more jobs
have become desk-based with limited amounts of physical activity
expended throughout the working day. This leads to health
problems such as cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes,
even when regular exercise takes place outside of work.
Our mission at StepJockey is to reduce the health
implications of sedentary behavior in the workplace
and beyond, through a blend of solutions including
education, engagement and incentivisation. We
intend to become globally admired across our
industry for our innovative workplace health
solutions.
What are the cutting-edge services/solutions
offered by StepJockey?
We use innovative technology including fun,
motivational apps and gamification to engage with
employees on a level that other workplace health
companies struggle to reach. Our technology works around
the basis of the nudge theory, which has driven tangible success
in increasing physical activity.

Our clients and their employees love our challenges like

Give a detailed description of the CEO’s influence over
the company and the Corporate Wellness Services
industry.
CEO Zarir Vakil brings a wealth of skills and experience
to the company. With over ten years of delivering
transformational change projects across a range of
industries, running several businesses and advising many,
he knows the challenges that businesses face in
implementing new processes and developing cultures.
Zed is also a non-executive Director at a cutting-edge
technology company. His knowledge and experience at the
forefront of technological developments has been a key
enabler in StepJockey’s emergence as an innovator in the
corporate wellness services industry.
The industry has been slower than many other industries in
utilizing the latest technology but with Zed’s experience he
has helped to build a team that leads the way in workplace
wellbeing. StepJockey has worked with clients from across
the world to make a real difference in reducing sedentary
behavior.
Describe the experiences, achievements or lessons learnt
that have shaped the journey of the company.
In the five years since StepJockey was founded, we have
learnt some very valuable lessons. Whilst society is
generally becoming more aware of the severe health
implications of sedentary lifestyles, there is still a very long
way to go in changing people’s habits.
One of our key achievements has been increasing the
awareness of the problems that derive from sedentary
behavior but we have a lot more work to do to. We have
delivered some huge results for our clients to transform
their workplace and hit their wellbeing objectives.
What are the challenges faced while providing
Corporate Wellness services and how is StepJockey
serving to tackle them?
There are a number of big challenges with Corporate
Wellness. Firstly, with some companies there is a lack of
budget for this area. At StepJockey, we are able to
demonstrate to our clients how the benefits of our programs
justify any costs. For example, improving workplace health
leads to reduced absences which can save the company a lot
of money.
Another challenge we have come across is that people are
very busy in work, trying to hit deadlines and rushing
between meetings etc. So, employees can initially be
sceptical about having enough time to build more physical
activity into their working day. We fully understand that
people are busy in work, so our programs are developed to
make easy, incidental, non-disruptional behavioral changes
that are not time consuming.
What according to you could be the potential future of
Corporate Wellness services and how does StepJockey
envision sustaining its competency?
With the added pressure on the NHS right now, in the future
there is going to be a much bigger focus on Corporate
Wellness services to reduce health epidemics like too much
sitting. Having been seed funded by the UK Department of
Health, we are working hard to set the foundations for
improving Corporate Wellness and we will lead by example
through wellness programs that harness innovative
technology and our understanding of the challenges
companies face.
Leadership Insight
Zed the CEO of StepJockey started his career with multi-
national organizations where he cut his teeth. After a decade
with multinationals, Zed joined a private equity company,
where he held an Investment Director portfolio, as well as a
pivotal strategic Group HR Director role. After designing
shared services functions for the Group, Zed acquired
venture funding internally, setting up his own new
company, Worksource, and providing companies affordable
commoditized HR outsourcing solutions and business

38. Pharma companies are also evaluating untapped markets.
Among the top emerging markets, BRIC economies
stand out the most with the probable addition of Mexico
and Turkey. While China is already competitive, the
others in the list are viewed as geographies with
tremendous opportunity.
However, growing economies have their own challenges.
Underdeveloped infrastructure and unique regulations
mean that entry and success in these markets are more
complex than they may seem. Seeking drug approvals in
different geographies also means that Pharma companies
will have to process multiple sets of clinical trials in each
country. With the probable exception of India, other
regions won’t have English as their language of choice
which makes language intervention an absolute
necessity.
The Increasing Involvement of China
The recent regulatory change in China has paved the way
for more globally accepted drugs to be launched in
China. However, they will still need to undergo the
regulatory process as usual. We expect an increased
effort from Pharma companies to launch more drugs in
China which is the second largest Pharmaceutical market
in the world. Biotech is also booming in China with the
help of conscious Government support. There seems to
be no shortage of investment either in this regard. Hence,
you can expect BioTech companies to have a keen
interest in expanding their focus to China in the coming
years. Based on this, we foresee the demand for
translation between English and Simplified Chinese to
rise in the near future. Also, it will be wiser for
companies to outsource their documentation
requirements since adhering to the stringent protocols in
Chinese will not be easy.
The Rising Influence of the Patients
As patients become more aware and educated about the
drugs they take, Pharma companies are forced to
The growth of China and Japan as leading
markets for the Pharma and Biotech industry has
made language an important factor for
companies looking to be successful in global markets.
Moreover, emerging markets in non-English speaking
countries such as Brazil, Russia and Turkey has only
increased the need for “Strategic Language
Partnerships”. Navigating through regulatory
requirements and Clinical Trial documentation in foreign
languages seem like a daunting task just from the sound
of it. An increasing number of companies prefer to
outsource the language requirements in order to speed up
approvals and decrease rejections.
With the current trends in the Pharma and Biotech
Markets, we suspect the need to only increase. There are
four definite areas that point towards the prominent role
of language in the coming years.
Emerging Markets have More Promise
Since established markets in US and Europe have very
little room for smaller players, SMEs are growing more

dynamic expectations and demands. Companies are
considering smartphone apps and online portals to stay
connected with patients. With more sophisticated
technological options being made available with every
passing day, a range of health services can be offered to
patients at their convenience. These tools also serve as a
great way to acquire patient data, maintain them and gain
useful insight.
However, replicating this approach in other geographies
will need language support. App and Software
localization requires deep understanding of cultural
nuances in order to be executed successfully. Apart from
this, promotional and informational collateral also need
to be tailored and edited in order to appeal to consumers
in various geographies. This not only includes physical
collateral but also digital materials. Hence, as the focus
shifts to the patient, there is certainly a rise in demand
for language solutions expected from Pharma and
Biotech companies.
Managing the Digital Baggage
While e-pharmacies are still in their infancy, there is
enough reason to believe in their success in the near
future. Globalization plans for e-pharmacies, is a long
way away from being a topic of discussion. In the
meanwhile, Pharma and Biotech companies still need to
maintain their digital presence whose importance
continues to grow in the grand scheme of things. This
includes websites, social media positioning and online
reputation management (ORM) among others. In recent
times, we’ve received an increased demand for
translation of marketing materials from companies like
Abbott Healthcare and other Fortune 500 companies.
As pharma and biotech companies look to build their
presence across different geographies, they will need to
think about how they can take their digital assets along.
Maintaining brand positioning and brand image across
multiple regions is always going to be a challenge.
Moreover, failure to understand cultural nuances and
demand can be a cause for stunted growth. Companies
that have the foresight to see the importance of a
language solutions partner at this stage will have greater
chances to succeed in new geographies.

USHC’s PredictiMed™ PHM platform harvests biometric,

Trained in engineering and management systems Mr.
Gavin Quinnies is the Co-founder, CEO and President of
US HealthCenter. He started his career developing AI,
automated process planning, and intelligent networks in the
aerospace industry.
Dr. G Raymond Gavery, MD, Chairman and Co-

adjustments to the proprietary algorithms utilized in the
PredictiMed™ systems. Specialized in internal medicine
and board certified in family practice, Dr. Raymond
developed one of the largest private medical practices in
Illinois.
Both Gavin and Raymond have a combined experience of
more than 50 years at the forefront of predictive health
modeling and disease prevention. Their previous experience
in the commercial risk management and medical risk
management brought them together in 2003. The mission
was to develop a technology that targeted personal
predictive commercial application, to truly have an impact
on individuals and the risk bearing entities that insure them.
Since then they have worked with thousands of employers
throughout North America, parts of Western Europe, Africa
and Asia to identify future health risks and the Financial
Risk Burden™ associated with emerging predisease.
Leveraging their vast technology suite that includes
personalized protocols, online learning, care plans, reward
mechanisms in conjunction with their Wholeistic™

quality of life and reduce healthcare cost. Gavin Quinnies
has been primarily responsible for developing emerging
markets to demonstrate how these programs work in
various commercial settings such as employers, consumers,
providers, insurers, retail and risk bearing entities.
A Roller Coaster Ride
For US HealthCenter, the journey has been about finding
like-minded organizations that realize life is most impacted
by sudden medical occurrences and issues related to the
occurrence. Unforeseen catastrophic illness impacts all
phases of a person’s life, including family, financial and
employment. Unforeseen catastrophic illness also impacts
the risk bearer in a similar manner, such as the employer,
the government, insurer or the payer. However, since the
entire healthcare industry has been built around fee for
service, it has been incentivized to treat sickness, as sick
people cost more, and therefore result in higher fees. This
has progressed to an unsustainable level. So, USHC
believes that it has been fortunate to work with like-minded
insurance agents, employers and other organizations, to
blaze trails with USHC to form a new industry.
David VS Goliath
According to USHC, the most important part is listening to
the market and finding those that want to work together in a
partnership. As a small company competing against multi-
billion dollar healthcare systems and insures, USHC can’t
out market, out promote or outspend them. However, the
company believes that it can certainly outperform them in
virtually every other category. So the organization needs to
pick its partners and clients wisely.
USHC also believes, that the field is continuing to expand,
splinter and converge all at the same time. New ideas
around lifestyle and outcomes are emerging as people
grapple with what’s next. According to the organization, a
predictive, prospective and personalized approach to
population health and wellness management is always
going to be the key to success at the personal and
organizational level. It has been the way all industries
mature, from one size fits all to mass customization. Health
is personal; health management needs to be the same.
Consequently the person to person connection needs to be
more personal. Call centers where anyone can help the
member are not effective. Especially when the person trying
to help the member can only do part of the assistance.
Advocates need to be able to answer all the questions, from
billing to second opinions to working with providers, and
what is going on at the organization’s worksite as far as
wellness programming is concerned. This is USHC’s
TM
Wholeistic™ approach powered by their PredictiMed

42. Biotechnology is a the exploration and development of various biological
processes to achieve mainly industrial and various other purposes
cultivation of the plants, and improvements through breeding programs.
The processes also employs artificial selection and hybridization which emphases
its functionality. At present, the modern usage also includes genetic engineering as
well as cell and tissue culture technologies.
In earlier days biotechnology process was initiated by farmers who developed
improved species of plants and animals by cross-fertilizing or cross-breeding. In recent
years, biotechnology has expanded its core functionality widely which now focuses on
sophistication, scope, and applicability.
A well-known and author and writer is vague and can be unsubstantial, for example,
Clayton Christensen share his views as, “There are other dimensions of biotechnology. If
you think of biotechnology like the Internet, it’s not a category - it’s an infrastructure that
can be deployed to sustain or disrupt. In healthcare, the most complex problems at the high
end have to be dealt with in a problem-solving mode by the best, most experienced
physicians you can find.”
Biotechnology is immensely contributing towards agriculture which enhances its
functionality to the next level. Agriculture aspects have extremely changed with
biotechnology functions and increase readability of the process.
What is Agriculture Biotechnology?
Agricultural Biotechnology is also known as Agritech. It is an area of agricultural
science involving the use of scientific tools and techniques. There are several
techniques used in agriculture biotechnology such as Genetic Engineering,
Agriculture
Biotechnology:

also known as Somatic fusion. It is a
type of genetic modification in plants by
which two distinct species of plants.
In this method, it includes joining
of cells or cell components to
transfer traits between species.
Transgenics: Transgenics is the method
which involves the insertion of one piece
of DNA into another organism’s DNA. It
works in order to introduce a new gene
into the original organism. This addition of
genes into an organism’s genetic material
creates a new variety with desired
qualities.
Impact of Agriculture Biotechnology on
Economy and Social Life
The technology used in agricultural
productivity improved its usability and
functionality with some major factors
such as combine harvesters,
chemical fertilizers, and the green
revolution. Like every technology,
agricultural biotechnology will
also have its major impact on
economic and social.
In agriculture, crops using biotechnologies
have improved its quality and also been
used safely with benefits. The technology
influences the whole process by the
reduction of pesticide use. At present
agricultural biotechnology, one of the
factors that influence the health and
welfare of the farmers and other citizens in
the developing world.
Influence of Agriculture Biotechnology
in the Future
The aim of agricultural biotechnology
is to present the functionality of the
applications used in agriculture
biotechnology. The applications
are eagerly awaited to increase
Molecular Markers, Molecular Diagnostics, Vaccines,
and tissue culture. And it also modifies the living
organisms like Plants, Animals, and Microorganisms.
In recent times, Crop biotechnology has been developed
its functionality in agriculture and is also one of the main
aspects of agriculture biotechnology. Its desired qualities
are exported from a particular species of Crop to an
entirely different species.
How is Agriculture Biotechnology Used?
Genetic Engineering: The term is derived from
scientific research provides information about how to
move genes from one organism to another. This is known
as genetic engineering (GE) or genetic modification
(GM). Genetic engineering includes the transfer of
useful characteristics by inserting DNA of Plants, animal
or microorganism from another organism to another.
Molecular Diagnostics: Molecular diagnostics
significantly detect genes or gene products that are very
precise and specific. Molecular diagnostics is the method
used in agriculture to more accurately diagnose
crop/livestock diseases.
Tissue Culture: Tissue culture is the process of
regeneration of plants from the disease-free plant. This
technique allows reproduction of disease-free planting
material for crops.
Unified Methods Used for Corp Modification
Traditional Breeding: Traditional breeding method has
been used for centuries to improve crop quality and
quantity. The crossbreeding describes the combination of
two compatible species to create a new variety with the
desired traits. The crossbreeding can be only utilized
within the same or closely related species.
Polyploidy: Polyploidy is the method describes which
can be induced to modify the number of chromosomes in
a crop in order to influence its fertility or size. Through
naturally or with the use of chemicals, the number of
chromosomes can change. The process results in the
fertility changes in modification within the crop.

44. the productivity of crops, primarily by reducing the
costs of production by decreasing the needs for
inputs of pesticides. The process is mostly used in
crops grown in temperate zones. The application of
agricultural biotechnology can improve the quality
of life by developing new strains of plants that give
higher crops. The crops can be grown in a wider
range of environments which give better rotations to
conserve natural resources. It also provides more
nutritious harvested products that keep much longer
in storage and transport, and continue low-cost food
supplies to consumers.
According to Crop Science, the company with
credible authority on the progress and future
implications of Agricultural biotechnology states
that, “Farming is evolving in the 21st century with
the development and use of biotechnology crops.
Scientists and agronomists work in the lab and
greenhouse to come up with genes that improve
crop yield and make corn, soybean, cotton and
canola plants more resistant to insects and more
tolerant to herbicides, drought, and stress.”
The biotechnology and its process is the evidence of
the contributions towards rural development around
the world. It serves as the source of inspiration for
emerging nations to complement existing practices
with agricultural biotechnology.

46. Minimizing Health
Risk and Healthcare Costs
In recent years, Corporate Wellness has
become an increasingly integral component
of business strategy. The wellness space can
thrive beyond the walls of HR and into the
fabric of organizations to impact both personal
and organizational health. Disease prevention
and wellbeing has a direct impact on
presenteeism, absenteeism, performance,
satisfaction, injuries, accidents, and more.
More and more companies are finding that
healthier employees are also happier and more
productive. Therefore, corporate wellness
companies are offering an array of different services
and approaches to ensure the good health of their
people. U.S. Preventive Medicine is one such leading
corporate wellness organization which focuses on
reducing health risks and unnecessary healthcare
utilization by keeping people healthy and helping them
better manage chronic conditions before they become
critical.
Beyond Industry Norms
U.S. Preventive Medicine (USPM) is a Population Health
Management company focused on improving health and wellbeing
through preventive medicine. Its philosophy is to take an evidence-
based, data-first approach applied at both population and individual
levels. It takes a whole-person approach to prevention that encompasses
mental and emotional health, physical health, social health, financial
health, and more, with two primary goals: (1) to reduce the burden of
health risk and (2) reduce healthcare costs. USPM’s unique, live-saving
Health and Wellbeing Assessment, and its whole person-whole
population approach is in stark contrast to the industry norm of
random-acts-of-wellness. Its versatility of a comprehensive
offering with point solutions lead to its innate ability to integrate
with its clients and partners. USPM’s core values are an
others-first approach, compassion, and focused
communication, and it loves to deliver competent results
while having fun doing it.
Improving Mental and Emotional Health
USPM has found increasing risk regarding
mental and emotional health, and has responded
with technology, programs, and additional
resources to address this ‘gateway’ domain that
affects all other conditions and behaviors.
Additionally, it is committed to improving the
combination of employee education/awareness with
employee activation/doing, while emphasizing the
psychology of behavior change in the center of these two
strategies to initiate and sustain results.
USPM offers a proprietary and certified Health and Wellbeing
Assessment (HWA) that is saving lives. Its HWA identifies individuals
with multiple risks including mental and emotional health, and utilizes an

THE
48. The market research landscape is in disruption – how we
capture consumer insights is changing drastically from how
it was done years ago. Agile is the new mantra for most
marketers these days – it’s about being faster, cheaper AND
smarter. Is it possible to have all 3?
Further, Agile isn’t the only A-word – there’s Artificial
Intelligence and Automation as well. These A’s comprise
some of the major factors disrupting our landscape. So,
what does it all mean and how does it impact you?
I spend a good deal of time visiting clients – in fact; I count
the companies I visit year after year, that’s companies, not
individuals. Last year 129, the year before 105 – all global
and across many sectors.
Here’s what I am hearing (and seeing of course):
• Consumer companies continue to focus on Millennials,
and now Gen Z; these are mobile-centric consumers, they
balk at traditional research, more importantly, use
visuals video (SnapChat, Instagram, YouTube) to
communicate curate behavior. How you talk to them
needs to change - meaning how you collect and capture
what they’re doing.
• Today’s consumers are informed ‘digital spenders,’
according to Harvard Business Review –they integrate
mobile devices for information seeking and purchase,
both in-store and online. They are informed and
connected, making in-context learning more critical for
consumer closeness and activation. Further, because of
their relationship with mobile devices, there is inherent
intimacy, enabling marketers to gain from richer
understanding, both via active and passive ‘data capture.’
• How consumers use information and communicate is
shifting to what Google refers to as micro moments. We
live in a world driven by instant sharing, YouTube videos,
TED Talks, etc. Marketers need to shift their approaches
and focus to how they capture consumer information –
both actively and passively. This adds to the disruption.
• Healthcare companies are somewhat still focused on
older generations (Boomers, Xers), but how this
information is delivered is shifting to online sources of
health information, and compliance mechanisms go
beyond the life-saving pill to apps and other ways to
reinforce usage of new treatments and medications. And
it’s the same with doctors – tablets and mobile devices
