The Three Rs

  1. 1. The Three Rs Martina Cassar Louise-Ann Baker
  2. 2. Reduce Reduce wasting water – don’t spend more time then needed in the shower, turn off all taps if turned on. Reduce wasting energy – switch all electrical appliances when not needed, if using a heater (in winter) use it for am approximate time.
  3. 3. Reuse Reuse plastic bottles – use plastic bottles more than once; if they can be used. Reuse paper – if you made a mistake on a paper do not throw it away, use it again cause paper grow on trees and tress are useful. Reuse clothes – old clothes can be turned into something new, if an old skirt is thorn it can be turned into a shirt…
  4. 4. Recycle Recycling is a process to change waste materials into new products to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, reduce energy usage, reduce air pollution and water pollution by reducing the need for "conventional" waste disposal, and lower greenhouse gas emissions as compared to plastic production.

  6. 6. What is recycling? • Recycling is a process to change waste materials into new products to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, reduce energy usage, reduce air pollution and water.
  7. 7. How to recycle 1 • Reuse Plastic Bags 2 • Buy Rechargeable Batteries 3 • Reuse plastic bottles
  8. 8. Why do we recycle plastic? • Plastics are used to manufacture an incredible number of products we use every day, such as beverage and food containers, trash bags and grocery bags, plastic cups and utensils, children's toys and diapers, and bottles for everything from mouthwash and shampoo to glass cleaner and dishwashing liquid. And that's not even counting all the plastic that goes into furniture, appliances, computers and automobiles.
  9. 9. What is recycling? Naomi Agius and Holly Galea
  10. 10. 1 •Recycling is a process to change waste materials into new products to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, reduce energy usage, reduce air pollution (from incineration) and water pollution by reducing the need for "conventional" waste disposal, and lower greenhouse gas emissions as compared to plastic production. 2 •Recyclable materials include many kinds of glass, paper, metal, plastic, textiles, and electronics. 3 •In the strictest sense, recycling of a material would produce a fresh supply of the same material for example, used office paper would be converted into new office paper, or used foamed polystyrene into new polystyrene. However, this is often difficult or too expensive , so "recycling" of many products or materials involves their reuse in producing different materials instead.
