Template

2 WAYS TO DO PRODUCT RESEARCH
Go to AMAZON.COM and
click Best Sellers.

Note: You can also obtain product
ideas from other platforms
like , &
2. Choose a category.
Steps in MANUAL Product Research
3. Choose a product listing. Scroll down and check
“Sponsored products related to this item” and “What
other items do customers buy after viewing?”
4. Analyze the title and get the possible main keyword.
Copy the main keyword.
5. Go to Amazon.com and paste the main keyword on the
search bar.
6. Click your Helium 10’s Xray or Unicorn Smasher Chrome
Extension.
In Helium 10's Xray, you'll be directed to here:
7. Remove Sponsored Products from the list. This will show
the organic ranking of products.
8. Double-click the Revenue column to arrange the results from
highest to lowest. Select the top 5 products related to your
keyword and click the Run keyword search.
9. With the top 5 products' ASIN,
you'll be directed to Cerebro -
Reverse ASIN Lookup. Check
Exact ASIN match/Exclude
variation keywords and click Get
keywords. Choose Organic under
Match type and APPLY.
Keyword Research
Keyword research will help you find your product-market fit . It is
important to determine which keywords your competitors are using and
which keywords are easy to rank.
10. Double-click the Search Volume column to arrange the results
from highest to lowest. Select the top 3 keywords related to your
product and the KW with the required search volume. Input the
top 3 keywords to the ASVA Template.

Potential Product Assessment
11. Determine if the potential product meets the criteria. This
includes a basic patent/trademark check; and restrictions
checking (HAZMAT, Gated Category, and PPC Eligibility).

Note: This is all according to the client's criteria. If any of the
inventory falls into any category, ensure to go through the
necessary safety requirements and approval.

Data Analysis
11. Input the chosen KW at amazon.com's search bar. Run the Helium 10's
Xray extension. Remove Sponsored Products. Sort the Revenue from
highest to lowest. Remove unrelated products to your chosen KW and
download the CSV report.

12. Copy the extracted helium Xray excel (minimum of 20 products or
more) and paste into the ASVA template.

13. Analyze the AVERAGE PRICE, AVERAGE SALES, AVERAGE REVENUE,
and AVERAGE REVIEW. Determine if the potential product meets the
criteria.

14. Indicate 1 ASIN and its AMAZON Product Website Link of your
Chosen Product among the Competitors in Helium10 Xray
(This will be your Guide of Image for Supplier Sourcing)

15. Find 3 suppliers for the chosen product to get the suppliers' cost.
Example from Alibaba.com. Make sure to choose from the suppliers with
and badges.
16. Input the lowest price and the highest price for the 3 suppliers in the
Suppliers' Cost ASVA Template.

17. Calculate the shipping cost by determining the item weight value in
kilograms. If the item is transported via sea the computation is times 2
(x2), via air freight is times 8 (x8).

18. Go to Fulfillment by Amazon Revenue Calculator. Enter the ASIN of the
chosen product.

19. Input the Item price or the price charged to the customer; Ship to
Amazon or the shipping fee; Cost of Product or The cost of acquiring the
product from your supplier, or the cost required to manufacture or
produce a single unit. And click Calculate.

20. FBA Calculator can help us calculate the net profit and the net margin
a product can make. Analyze if it reach the client's criteria.

21. Lastly, make a room for improvement. Make a final recommendation
from the reviews.

product from the list and perform Manual Product Research Steps # 5 (Go to
Amazon.com and paste the main keyword on the search bar) to #21.

Product Research Workflow Presentation

  • 1. PRODUCT RESEARCH WORKFLOW AMAZON SELLER VIRTUAL ASSISTANT (ASVA) MASTERCLASS This is how I conduct Amazon Product Research using the ASVA Template by ILANA MAE G. ASALDO AMAZON VIRTUAL ASSISTANT
  • 2. Identifying your target market Select a particular target audience you want to offer your potential product.
  • 3. MANUALLY AUTOMATED Product Searching Find a potential product for your target audience. 2 WAYS TO DO PRODUCT RESEARCH
  • 4. Go to AMAZON.COM and click Best Sellers. 1. Note: You can also obtain product ideas from other platforms like , & 2. Choose a category. Steps in MANUAL Product Research
  • 5. 3. Choose a product listing. Scroll down and check “Sponsored products related to this item” and “What other items do customers buy after viewing?”
  • 6. 4. Analyze the title and get the possible main keyword. Copy the main keyword.
  • 7. 5. Go to Amazon.com and paste the main keyword on the search bar.
  • 8. 6. Click your Helium 10’s Xray or Unicorn Smasher Chrome Extension.
  • 9. In Helium 10's Xray, you'll be directed to here:
  • 10. 7. Remove Sponsored Products from the list. This will show the organic ranking of products.
  • 11. 8. Double-click the Revenue column to arrange the results from highest to lowest. Select the top 5 products related to your keyword and click the Run keyword search.
  • 12. 9. With the top 5 products' ASIN, you'll be directed to Cerebro - Reverse ASIN Lookup. Check Exact ASIN match/Exclude variation keywords and click Get keywords. Choose Organic under Match type and APPLY. Keyword Research Keyword research will help you find your product-market fit . It is important to determine which keywords your competitors are using and which keywords are easy to rank.
  • 13. 10. Double-click the Search Volume column to arrange the results from highest to lowest. Select the top 3 keywords related to your product and the KW with the required search volume. Input the top 3 keywords to the ASVA Template. SOURCE: ASVA TEMPLATE
  • 14. Potential Product Assessment 11. Determine if the potential product meets the criteria. This includes a basic patent/trademark check; and restrictions checking (HAZMAT, Gated Category, and PPC Eligibility). SOURCE: ASVA TEMPLATE

  • 16. Data Analysis 11. Input the chosen KW at amazon.com's search bar. Run the Helium 10's Xray extension. Remove Sponsored Products. Sort the Revenue from highest to lowest. Remove unrelated products to your chosen KW and download the CSV report.
  • 17. Data Analysis 12. Copy the extracted helium Xray excel (minimum of 20 products or more) and paste into the ASVA template.

  • 22. 15. Find 3 suppliers for the chosen product to get the suppliers' cost. Example from Alibaba.com. Make sure to choose from the suppliers with and badges.

  • 24. 17. Calculate the shipping cost by determining the item weight value in kilograms. If the item is transported via sea the computation is times 2 (x2), via air freight is times 8 (x8). SOURCE: ASVA TEMPLATE
  • 25. Profitability Calculator 18. Go to Fulfillment by Amazon Revenue Calculator. Enter the ASIN of the chosen product.
  • 26. Profitability Calculator 19. Input the Item price or the price charged to the customer; Ship to Amazon or the shipping fee; Cost of Product or The cost of acquiring the product from your supplier, or the cost required to manufacture or produce a single unit. And click Calculate.
